How does heat affect an iPod?

Last night I went to sleep, then my little brother took my iPod to play, when I woke up, the iPod was in the heat(my house has heats on the side of the wall) and I waited for it to cool down, but does heat break your iPod in any way?

Hot Tip
If you use your iPod, iPhone, iPad, or notebook in temperatures higher than 95° F (or 35° C), you may permanently damage your battery’s capacity. That is, your battery won’t power your device as long on any given charge. You may damage it even more if you charge the device in these temperatures. Even storing a battery in a hot environment can damage it irreversibly.

  • How Does Compression affect Integrity of Colours?

When compression doesn't completely mess up the colours, it often simplifies the image, and functionally pixelates it.
The pixelated image above has the same colour balance as the other two.
So how does compression affect the integrity of colours?

Think of an image as having two distinct layers: the black & white layer, over which the color information is laid by the color layer.
Bad compression also uses poor color sampling -- aka color resolution -- to save file size.  It will average the values of two adjacent color pixels to create a larger pixel of the avaraged color.  If it's REALLY bad -- as in DSLR video and HDV -- it will average the colors of FOUR adjacent pixels an even larger pixel of the average color.
And what do you think that would do to color integrity?

  • Out-of-place upgrade to 11.2.0.4 (from 11.2.0.3); how does it affect certain items?

    Hi All,
I've never done a db patch set update, and from what I've read today, I will need to do a full installation of 11.2.0.4 to have this patch set applied.
This sounds scary and being a rookie Oracle DBA, what does this mean to my existing Oracle Database installation (Oracle 11GR2 on Windows Server 2008R2)?
If I do an out-of-place upgrade (Oracle recommended), and create a new home, what will happen to the existing schemas/etc?
My application is configured to connect to SERVERA, SID=123 so when I install a new home, etc, does this change anything? I've read I need to modify the tnsnames files in my new home to be similar to my current tnsnames file..
Basically, I want to upgrade to patchset 11.2.0.4 b/c it's supposed to address a bug I have, but I want to be able to keep the 'settings' the same for the end users/applications (SERVERA, SID=123).
    Thanks in advance

You have to remember that the database software/binaries are separate from the database itself.  Typically, you first install the software (like you did for 11.2.0.3) and then create a database. Best practice states that the location of the database files should be outside/different then the location of the binaries.
When you install your new 11.2.0.4 in a new location, that is all that you are doing - the install does not affect the existing database. Once the 11.2.0.4 software is installed, you can upgrade the database by following the steps in the upgrade guide (the database files stay where they are, but the database gets upgraded from 11.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.4) and when the upgrade is completed successfully, the old (11.2.0.3) binaries can be de-installed at leisure.

  • If an internal ID is changed for the Work Repository how does it affect objects that are already in it?  Will they continue to run or do you need to cycle the ODI agent?

I was having trouble migrating the Master and Work repositories from my QA to my Prod environment.  I was getting an error message that the internal id's were alike so I changed the internal id in my Prod Master repository.  Then I tried to migrate the Work repository and was getting a similar error.  I did a search on the internet for the error message and it recommended that I renumber the Work repository so I did.    My concern now is how these changes affect the objects that are already in the repositories?  Will those objects continue to run?  Also do these changes take affect immediately or do you need to cycle the ODI agent?

Well I cannot completely assure you but so far I have not faced any issues after a renumber. It will affect the exist object only when you have imported the object in synonym_update mode. I believe you have the daily backup of your production repository.

  • Multi value attribute in IB - how does it affect system (crm 4.0)

    Hi,
Is there any limitation when using Multi value attribute in set type which is used for Individual object in IB?
I have succeed in implementation of Multi value variable feature in CRM 4.0 . this change is irreversible so I wish to know what are the _risks moving it to production.
(We use IB VERY heavily with single value attributes)
Does it affect performance? other features?
    Thanks
    Rachel

    hi there
due to the pain of sending the single value attribute in production,we usually try create multi value attribute so that multidimensional usefulness takes place.
i really don see any limitation and risk sending those in production, infact it will serve u a good cause there
just procede with that,so far we havent observed any defect doing that in projects
    best regards

  • How does capturing affect the camera?

I only ask because I know a lot of people use decks instead of their primary cameras. And I know its a major concern when buying used equipment to ask if its ever been used as a deck. Lastly, if it does negatively affect the camera; If I shoot something in a mode that my deck doesnt support (eg - 24p on a dvx or xl2 and then use an oldddd canon as a deck) will it capture correctly into the editor? Thanks.

IMO most cameras suffer from little use rather than too much. Regularly exercising your cam is a good thing.
If you are capturing all day every day then a purpose built deck would be the better option.
If I shoot something in a mode that my deck doesnt support (eg - 24p on a dvx or xl2 and then >use an oldddd canon as a deck) will it capture correctly into the editor?
I never tried what you ask but with other formats it's a simple transfer of 0s &1s, so I'd imagine it will work fine as long as tape fits.

  • TS1538 I am going to have to upgrade to Windpws 8.1 because of the XP problem.  How does this affect my iPad

I have to upgrade to Wiindows 8.1 because of the XP problem.  Does this affect my iPad?

    What xp problem?
Xp works. Just because Microsoft will not be providing updates, this will not change. If you use common sense, which is required for any OS, you are perfectly safe.
If you "upgrade" to windows 8, it is possible iTunes will see the computer as new and require you to resync your devices.
Make sure you backup your iTunes library to an external drive.

Q: How will this change the way I use Photoshop.com?
A: Photoshop.com accounts will be remain accessible until the end of the transition period CLICK HERE to see dates and details, but once we begin moving your photos to Revel you will no longer be able to upload photos to your Photoshop.com account.
After the transition period CLICK HERE to see dates and details, all Photoshop.com accounts will be closed. No mention of the Touch, it works differently from other iPods and has no "disk mode" as such.
I think it can be used as a storage device by using a 3rd party App, search the the App Store for such items.
Photos transferred to your Touch via iTunes will be of severely compromised quality i.e 640x480 pixel resolution and file size around 600-700 kb. These can be retrieved, again using a 3rd party application on your computer, such as [Touch Copy|http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy> but you will not get back original quality images.

  • How Does Upgrade Affect iTunes License?

    I bought a new G5 an upgrade from a G3.
I bought a new iPod an upgrade from a 1st Generation iPod.
Since I have not "de-authorized" any devices, have I used up 4 licenses per iTunes song? How can I purge my old iPod and give it away to another person, who will gradly fill it with PodCasts?
Thanks, I get nervous on issues of intellectual property. I just want what's fair.
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

When you authorize a machine, you are authorizing the iTunes installation on the computer.
iTune installation or use does not require any authorization. You mat freely install iTunes on as many machines as you like.
You are authorizing that machine (up to 5) to play songs purchased from your iTMS account on that machine.

  • Colorblind red/green, how does that affect PS and what are the options.

Like so many men, I am Colorblind (not in full) for red/green.  As a photographer I manipulate pictures like all of us. My main tools are LR-3 and PS-5.
I operate in the Pro-Photo colorspace on am Imac with a Eizo graphical monitor all calibrated.
The problem arrises when I start to work on skin and other elements, as I am coloblind (partial) my manipulations tend to result in a bit to redisch pictures. A comment I receive many times.
I don't see it that way, but after a colorblindness test it was comfirmed.
So here is the question:  Is there a tool/colorprofile/colospace or whatever that could be used by me as a red/green colorblind person so that I can manipulate the pictures as I would like to.
The colorprofile/space/tool would compensate.  Once done with the job I could then simply convert it back to a normal human view.  Does this exist ?
Note that I always work with graycard and a ColorChecker from X-rite..
Any recommendation is more then welcome.

Interesting…  If I understand the issue correctly, you need the opposite of this:
This shows a person with normal vision how an image will look to a color blind person.  I can see how the opposite may pose quite a challenge for the programmers.

  • Slo-mo applied to sequence or clips -  how does it affect transitions?

Usually I edit clips together with cross-fades and then apply slow speed to the sequence rather than individual clips - but I find a bug in 5.0.2 where it renders a still frame part-way through that remains for the rest of the sequence.
So now I paste speed attributes to the rest of individual clips instead of at a seqeuenc level. What I wonder is how the two methods affect transition quality i.e.
method 1: the transition is rendered at as part of a sequence with 60% speed applied
method 2: transition is rendered at normal speed, but it is being applied to clips with 60% speed
    No difference in quality?

    Hey Catrina
Not sure what the issue is with your application of the 3-Way Color Corrector in the Browser. My guess, is that perhaps you only thought you applied the "saved" instance of the 3-way corrector but instead applied a default neutral instance of the corrector.  How did you save the correction you applied to the other instances?  A good method is, having applied and tweaked it as needed to a sample clip instance, you can drag a copy of it out of the clip's Filter tab and drop it directly into your Browser window.  To check, then double click that Browser instance of the corrector to open it in the Viewer window and see if has the corrections settings as expected and no the default ones. If so, go ahead and drag it to another clip instance in the Browser and then drag that clip to your sequence ... has the correction "stuck" bow? But while we figure it out, for now, why not just apply the saved correction directly to the clips in the sequence?  Regarding trashing your preferences ... download Preference Manager from Digital Rebellion.  Very straightforward to use.

  • How does MVC affect me?

I keep reading about the importance of the Model-View-Controller architecture of Swing. I'm not really seeing how it affects me, though. As far as I can tell, I just create my JList, and interact with it using the methods in the API. Are the model and delegate just part of the implementation of the JList, and I don't see them?

Well the way I was told MVC is that you have three parts:
The Model, the View, and the Controller.
The Model(or Domain) is the backend of the program. You dont control it directly.
This is done by the Controller funilly enough. I usually use a class called Action for this.
The View part is your GUI. This is where the I give my inputs and recieve any output.
The Viewer will pass messages to the Action Class which then passes on other messages to the Model, effectively becoming a go-between.
