How does iOS 7 run on the iPad 3?
I am considering the option to upgrade to iOS 7 on my iPad 3 (this is the model with RetinaDisplay, but has the old dock connector.) How does it run? Does it create lag? Will this affect the way I use my iPad, like the keyboard?

I'm running it on a iPad 3 and so far no issues. I had one game that the first time I used it lagged real bad for about 10 seconds. I closed it then opened it again and it has been fine since. I'm not a typist so as for keyboard lag it's not there for me but some on the blog say theirs lag. Before you upgrade I strongly recommend you look really hard at the new icons on Apples product pages. Most complaints I see are related to that and the colors/ contrast of the Apple apps pages. Lots of plain white backgrounds. Some people on the blogs report severe issues and some will likely only be correctable by a later update. Keep in mind that most help blogs like this one only see people who are having issues. That doesn't mean that the update is bad but that said I would be upset if I upgraded and had some of their problems with my pad.

Bought my wife a used, but practically like new 64 GB iPad 2 and iOS 7 seems to run fine with no issues other than the wallpaper resizing issues mentioned in other iOS 7 posts.
I think iOS 7 runs even better on an iPad 2 because no extra processing power is being used for a retina display because iPad 2 doesn't have a retina display.
I noticed this as my iPad 3 on iOS 7 runs well, but seems a little laggy compared to my wife's iPad 2. -

It is really simple: Aperture performs better with stronger hardware. As one goes up the line of Mac hardware performance improves.
Although Aperture will run on any MacIntel with at least 2 GB RAM, all laptops and iMacs are very significantly limiting to Aperture's performance. IMO if one buys a by-definition-limiting box like a MBP (I own one) it makes most sense to buy the strongest MBP available.
Whatever you buy, max out the RAM.

Sorry if this is a bit naive. I have just bought my first iPad (Retina Display). I have WiFi at home but it has taken me ages to get on-line as I needed all sorts of codes, passwords, numbers etc.
How does one connect to the web (Google) when one is out and about?

To answer your question: no, not really. However, the points that I made here were about Safari and accompanying utilities, not about Apple in general.
If it makes you feel any better, I am just as, or even more, critical of Micro$oft as the occasions arise...Windoze Vista is the most recent occasion and has given sufficient reasons and opportunities to vent my spleen that I actually have eased up on Apple, politicians, nut-case religious extremists, cell phone owners, and the Department of Homeland Paranioa, etc., due to an exhaustion of creative energy. -

hi the older button could be set to either "force portrait mode" or "silent mode". now you can do both in the iOS control center (swipe from the bottom of the screen), so the need for a button isn't needed anymore.

Siri WILL work on "The New iPad" and it will have many of the new features in iOS 6. The iPhone 4S gets more features, but still the iPad 3 will get a healthy chunk. Unfortunately, users like me on my iPad 2, and other people on iPad 1 (who doesn't even get IOS 6) and iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod 4th Gen, don't Get Siri AT ALL and probably won't get it (fingers crossed though!

There are some wireless external hard drives that can be used with the iPad.

Does anybody know if the ipad air 1 is using yosemite or something different? I don't know what type of safari i should install because it disappeared from the ipad. Thanks!
YYosemite is a Mac OS and it doesn't run on an iPad. You cannot delete or install Safari on the iPad. It is on your device somewhere.
Swipe from screen to screen to look for it.
Check Settings>General>Restrictions and make sure that you didn't disable it.
You can also reset the home screen layout and the icon will reappear - but the home screen will return to the way that it looked when you first activated your iPad. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. -
