How does one authorize another computer to play previously purchased music?

I have recently downloaded a ITunes software on a new computer. I would like to authorize the computer to listen to previously purchased music.
My understanding is that we can share music on Itunes on up to five computers.
I woud appreciate if someone could share a document on how to authorize mulitple computer to a single account.

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

You can transfer all the iTunes purchased music from the iPod Touch to your new computer.
From iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer:
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod has your purchased content from the iTunes Store, you can transfer the content to a computer that is authorized for your Apple ID.
Note: This option only works for content you purchased from the iTunes Store (as opposed to content from other sources, such as CDs you may have imported). For content you did not purchase from the iTunes Store, synchronization occurs in one direction only. This means your content can be copied from a computer to your iOS device, but cannot be copied from your device to a computer.
Open iTunes.
From the Store menu, choose Authorize Computer.
In the dialog that appears, the Apple ID button is selected by default. If you have an AOL account, select AOL.
Enter your Apple ID or AOL account and password. Then, click the Authorize button.
Connect your device your computer. If it is synced with another iTunes library, the following may appear:

Go to the Store menu item on the menu bar, and choose Authorize This Computer, as shown below.
If by any chance you don't see the menu bar (File, Edit, View, Controls, Store, Help), first enable it by using CTRL+B.

However, when I try to download them, iTunes does not allow the process to begin. A window saying "Your computer is not authorized. I recently got a new computer. My previous computer has iTunes but is no longer able to access the internet. I was able to get my music library from my original computer to the new one. When I try to play music, I get a window asking me to authorize the new computer. I fill in the account and password and press the authorize button. It accepts the password then asks me to download iTunes 6.0. I downloaded and installed iTunes 6 but every time I try to play any of my music, it sends me to the music library to download iTunes 6 again.
How do I authorize this computer to play my purchased music ?
