How does one have a recursive query in a cross-tab report?
I am trying to build a report off of a table much like an accounting transaction log where a subsequent (payment) transaction points to a previous (charge) transaction on the same table. Most of the data I need to display is off of the payment transaction but the column header in the cross-tab needs to pull off of the initial, charge transaction (the data is not stamped on the payment transaction).
Whenever I add the second instance of the table to my report (as the column label) my summary data is doubled or worse. I have tried to create a calculated field to filter and hopefully only sum up the payment transactions and use the calculated field as the summary data field but that is not affecting the totals.
The truly odd thing about this is the summary field on the charge transaction does not contain any data, only the payment transactions have data in this field so the sum totals should be correct despite the double pull from the table.
How can I read data from related records on the same table without affecting the sum totals?

My argument starts with b.t. Broadband and phone, question how does one have broad band and phone if you have never ordered it in the first place, No modem means No broadband,No engineer,No Activation codes , No one has visited my home so No installation is this true !!. Right I will start from the beginning back in November 2010 I called b.t. Sales and made an enquiry about getting broadband and a telephone package installed,so then this guy in sales said i would have to set a D/D up and he would have to do a credit check on me,but i told him their was a problem ,as i did not have enough money in my bank account to set another D/D up,he then informed me he would keep the enquiry active for seven days,after this time the enquiry would be scrapped,so i never thought anymore about it,then 2 months later b.t. have started billing me, the first bill was for £130.44 the next bill was for £223.31 & to cap all that they have now instructed a debt collection company to collect £365.98 within 7 days or else,i also asked b.t. what date did & time the instalation engineer had called to my home,and the date the package with the modem was delivered ,because you have to sign for this item i was told by the royal mail.
Then this Saturday 25/6/2011 a woman from b.t.residential telephoned me to apologise and the matter was now closed,and they were sorry for setting this account up in the first place, next thing the same woman rang me back one hour later and said b.t. would be pursuing this matter and i should contact the debt collection ageny, i refused to pay and told her to take me to court,she also said that their were notes attached to the file and a recording made of my conversation with b.t.and me ,i asked for a copy but she asked for £10. 99 plus vat to which i refused and that stated that i had placed and order for b.t. broadband,i then said i will be seeking advice from a solicitor and would see them in court.

The next thing for you to do is collate all your evidence and contact ofcom. You called BT to enqire and not take up the order so therefore ask BT to provide you with a list of account of when you called them, you have a legal right under the data protection act etc to access your data however you may have to pay a fee of £2 to £10 for your records. Also ask for a copy of the voice recordings and or transcripts too because all calls are recorded and monitored for training purposes right!
In any complaint, make sure you can remember the dates and times of call and also names, who did you speak to today??

How to insert page number on each page for Cross-Tab report?
Hi,
I have created a Cross-Tab in the section Report Header via Crystal Reports 11.
Now, I want to created more Cross-Tabs, and each page has one Cross-Tab.
So, I insert Report Headers to contain Cross-Tabs. But, the report only shows the page number at the last page.
How to insert page number on each page?

Well, the easiest solution is to place the Cross-tab in the Report Footer, Of course, ONLY if the report contains this single object which I'm assuming is not the case.
If you do not wish to place the cros-tab in the Report Footer, here's what you need to do:
1) Create a formula;
whilereadingrecords;
2) Create a group on this formula. If the report already contains groups, move this formula to the top of the grouping list. It won't affect the other groups or records in any way.
3) Move the Cross-tab from the Report Header to the Group Header1 and suppress Group Footer1
4) Add the Page Number field to the Page Footer

How does one have multiple email signatures on iPad?
I don't fancy having to purchase an app just to have my business signature when using Mail on my iPad, but I also have my personal email on there as well, so I don't want to have just one signature. Surely Apple thought of this for the business user.
There is only one signature for now, you can buy a third part app or do this work around
Settings>General>keyboard>shortcut>create new shortcut. it a one liner though. -

When create an sql report, the report heading will show below. If my project name is " Tire Strength Test At Site R987654" . I need to get it to show in one line since it was defined as varchar2(50)

taiI noticed the CSS Style settings only seem to work if using a "Standard Report Column". Unfortunately I have the need to define some report columns where undesired wrapping occurs as "Display as Text (based on LOV, does not save state)" and tried to avoid wrapping, but no luck - is there a way around this (other than performing the report query using a huge DECODE clause, which somewhat renders the LOV useless except for data entry)?

I have in the past created an Apple ID for use with the UK itunes store, because I want to read in English. If I sign in it seems that this ID will only allow me to purchase from the UK store. But I live in Belgium, so I can't download from the UK store. So I tried to create an apple ID for the Belgian itunes store. But I want to use the same email address as I used for the first apple ID I made (because I'm fed up of having to remember which email address I used for which account). When I tried this, I just get a message saying that the email address is already in use for another account (which I know, because it's me who made that account). Does anyone have a workaround for this?

I'm presuming you went ahead and set up a new Apple ID, yes? Using the same password in more than one Apple ID has worked for me in the past, but I haven't tried it in a while so the tightened security may have changed that. You could use the same password but add "-UK" and "-BE", or something like that, to make it easier to remember.
I understand what you mean about losing the ability to deal with UK purchased stuff, but this is becoming so inconvenient that I do want to delete that UK apple ID account. I have looked everywhere I can think of on the apple website (apple id, itunes, support etc) and I can't find a link/eplanation/contact point that deals with deleting apple ID and itune store accounts. Surely this must be possible?
It's possible, but Apple is very reluctant to do it, and it's not something a user can do on their own. It would be better to just stop using the UK account rather than trying to get it deleted. Just remove your payment information and there should be little reason to have the account deleted. If you really want to try, though, you'll need to send a message to iTunes support specifying that you want the account cancelled.
On a completely different matter, I have bought my son an ipod touch. But since he is younger than 13 years old, how does one go about using the itunes store to get music onto his ipod touch?

How does one continue to use Mail on the early MacBook Pro, Model 1,1, that is not upgradable to Lion? I have been running iCloud on my iPhone (OS5) and iMac (Lion) along with the MacBook Pro (OS Version 10.6.8) since November until now. Mail will no longer download on the MacBook Pro and keeps asking for my password.
Mail should still be usable with your machine - but you'll need to update the settings to conform to the requirements of your system. Check with your ISP (like ATT, etc.) for the settings that will work with your Mail. Once you've updated this, you should be able to email like before.
For example, my ISP required that I go to Mail Preferences/Accounts and make sure the details conform to your email settings.
I have no idea of what your ISP is or what the settings might be, but this is likely the source of the problem. -
How does one update Flash? I currently cannot watch videos on You Tube, it says I need to upgrade, I have no problem doing this on a PC.
If you're not using chrome you can just go to adobe's website (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/) and download the newest flash player. You run the .dmg and then open the application, which updates flash. With the latest version of flash there should be a preference pane within system preferences to allow you to change settings and check for updates.

With my new macbook I attempted to open an older spreadsheet and get the following error message: "This spreadsheet cannot be opened because ti is too old. To open it, save it with numbers '09 first" So how does one do this when I only have ver3.1?
Numbers 3.x can only open Numbers '09 and later. You will need Numbers '09 to open Numbers '08 files.
If it is a single file (or only a few) you can email me and I will open and convert then email back. My email address is in the "Biography" of my profile.
You may have Numbers '09 installed. Look in the folder "/Applications/iWork '09" if Numbers is in that folder launch it, open the file you tried to open, and save. Then you should be able to open in Numbers 3.x -
I'm having problems with iPhoto and the facebook set-up. Every time I attempt to do so it says an error has occured and try again later. I have not seen a solution posted. Therefore, how does one contact Apple to solve the problem? I'm new to the world of iMac but I find it a bit frustrating trying to solve basic issues/problems:(
For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

This may be a basic question... but in InDesign, how does one determine the pixel size of a text box? Specifically, we need to write text to specifications of 600 pixel width, and have no idea a) how to scale a text box to specific pixel width, b) how to determine what word count we can fit in, and c) how to do it in a table? Set your ruler increments to pixels Preferences>Units & Increments. You can fill the text box with placeholder text Type>Fill with Placeholder text and get a word count from the Info panel with Show Options turned on from the flyout.
From the Transform panel you can set a text box's width and height -

are you talking about voiceover where the phone is reading things out loud to you? you have to double tap things in voiceover in order to select them. you'll need to go to settings > general > accessibility > and turn off voiceover there
