How does one highlight Text in Imail messages

I understand how one uses the "Fonts" of "Colors" Icon on the message dialog box to change the font color of selected text in a message so it stands out, but have NOT FIGURED OUT how one can instead (or in addition) "highlight" the text. By that I mean coloring the background of the selected text (as opposed to changing the background color of the whole document, or changing the color of the letters themselves). Is there a way to do that in imail, and if so, how?

Not in Leopard Mail, as far as I can tell. In Tiger you could color just a selected portion of a text background, but this feature seems to have disappeared for some reason in 10.5. You can ask Apple to put it back via the feedback link:

  • How does one put text on the spine?

    I'm a little confused about the difference between the version I'm creating and the template I start with. I start with a template, then resize and mess with the arrangement of the pictures. I move text boxes. All seems okay.
    I put a colored background on the front and back cover (by inserting a specially made pdf from Pages, a gradient color). The back spine remains white, and blank. How can I add text to the spine? And is there a way to have the color from the background bleed over the spine?
    Ben

    I certainly don't know how it was constructed, but I suppose the form was intended for people that use Word. If you were using Word, you would just select the "insert" key (or something - I forget) and type away. The text would type above the line. I thought maybe there was something like that in Pages. I find myself getting very frustrated using Pages and Numbers. They really aren't that easy to use. Word and Excel have them beat.

  • How does one, edit text using Preview?

    Hi all,
    I have recently created a document using Preview...The document includes text that I inserted using the text tool within Preview itself...I was able to edit these text windows quite freely during the creation of the document...
    However, today I have opened my Preview document only to find that the usual method of clicking on the text is failing and that I cannot edit those very same text windows anymore...How is this so and how can I edit them once again?
    Any help muchly appreciated, thank you!
    Regards,
    Brad

    Dear Terence Devlin,
    Thank you for your reply!
    Unfortunately I'm still unable to edit the text...When I select the 'View' menu; the 'Highlights and Notes' is greyed out and therefore unable to be selected.
    Any further assistance greatly appreciated!
    Regards,
    Brad

  • How does one overlap text and images

    I have the text box and the image on the Pages doc and when I move either to overlap the other, the one not selected "darts" away

    Select the image.
    If it is an inline object, change it to Floating.
    Click the Wrap button and select 'none'.
    Place the image where you want it.
    Select the text box.
    Resize it to a close fit around the text.
    Drag it to the image.
       If the text slides behind the image:
       with the text box still selected,
       go Arrange > Move forward
       repeat until the text is visible in front of the image.
    Adjust the placement as necessary.
    Change the text colour as needed.
    Select both the text box and the image.
    Go Arrange > Group to join the two objects in a single group.
    Regards,
    Barry

  • How does one create text/w pillow & emboss

    I mean does anyone know of a tutorial anywhere online that explains it in step by step detail. I have never tried this before even tho I am an old hand at general photoshop use, ever since Version 3. Looking for an effect something like Google has. Not all the colors, just the neat pillowed emboss effect.
    Oh and I have googled this topic and always found somethi9ng lacking in the steps, at least for my brain it seems that way.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi JF BONNAM,
    Please see Acrobat.com Help | Using Adobe Send for some great how-to information on using Adobe Send. In particular, the "Viewing a file's tracking information" section describes how you can tell who's viewed or downloaded your sent files.

  • In the new Keynote how does one find the Wrap Inspector to wrap text around a photo??? Thanks

    In the new keynote, the help section refers to the Wrap Inspector.  How does one find that or how does one wrap text around a photo??   Thanks

    You can also use the shape tool to draw a shape roughly following the outline of the graphic you want to wrap text around, change the fill and stroke to "none", then paste your text within the shape. It's a few more steps, but it opens you up to many creative alternative layouts.

    Right click or Control click on the selected text.
    From the menu, choose Font > Show Fonts
    Select the second item on the toolbar, which is Text Strikethrough
    Choose a single, double or color line
    I hope this information helps ....

  • How does one print only a highlighted portion of a document?

    How does one print only a highlighted portion of a document?

    If the App supports that, it would be in the Print dialog. Otherwise, copy and paste the section into something else to print.
    The OS doesn’t render pages to print, the App does. The App must support rendering the selection.
    You can create an Automator workflow that automates the copy/paste/print/quit functions.
    Just create an new Automator Service and make it look like this:
    The text of the Applescript is this:
    on run {input, parameters}
         tell application “TextEdit"
              print document of front window
              close document of front window without saving
              quit
         end tell
         return input
    end run

    Itunes 11.1.5 (MacBook Pro,OS 10.6.8) will not sync new apps with iPhone 5 iOS 7.0.6 and gives grayed out "install" no message?  How does one work around this?

    Just reboot your laptop... While its rebooting try to reboot your phone also by holding the home and power buttonn for 10-15 seconds...When your phone is turned off try to connect it to iTunes and it will recognize your phone in recovery mode.
    If you have the .ipsw file for iOS 7.0.6 saved in your desktop then in itunes press shift and click on Restore.
    Select the ipsw file and let it restore.
    If you dont have it downloaded then simply click on restore.
    I hope it works
    Cheers !

    With my new macbook I attempted to open an older spreadsheet and get the following error message:  "This spreadsheet cannot be opened because ti is too old.  To open it, save it with numbers '09 first"  So how does one do this when I only have ver3.1?

    Numbers 3.x can only open Numbers '09 and later.  You will need Numbers '09 to open Numbers '08 files.
    If it is a single file (or only a few) you can email me and I will open and convert then email back.  My email address is in the "Biography" of my profile.
    You may have Numbers '09 installed.  Look in the folder "/Applications/iWork '09"  if Numbers is in that folder launch it, open the file you tried to open, and save.  Then you should be able to open in Numbers 3.x

    This may be a basic question... but in InDesign, how does one determine the pixel size of a text box? Specifically, we need to write text to specifications of 600 pixel width, and have no idea a) how to scale a text box to specific pixel width, b) how to determine what word count we can fit in, and c) how to do it in a table? Thanks!

    Set your ruler increments to pixels Preferences>Units & Increments. You can fill the text box with placeholder text Type>Fill with Placeholder text and get a word count from the Info panel with Show Options turned on from the flyout.
    From the Transform panel you can set a text box's width and height

  • How does one perform mailbox to mailbox moving of email messages w/ Messaging 3.X?

    How does one perform mailbox to mailbox moving of email messages with Messaging 3.X?
    <P>
    In an ISP environment there are times that a user changes his
    login name (his unique identifier in the ISP's network, also used as
    his email address) from one value to another. It is very convenient
    for the ISP to be able to move messages from the user's old mailbox
    to the user's new mailbox when this situation occurs.
    <P>
    With Messaging Server 2.0, this was easily accomplished by simply
    moving the mail messages on disk. However, with the added complexity
    of Messaging 3.0 where there are back links, reference counts, etc.,
    associated with mail messages, moving files on disk from one mailbox
    to another is no longer valid.
    <P>
    The MoveUser utility, which is new in MS 3.X, moves messages from
    one messaging server to another or from one maildrop path to another.
    Can this utility be used to move messages from one mailbox to another?
    <P>
    The answer is yes, it can. The user should be aware that if
    duplicate email message id's exist in the mailbox before the
    move, the messages related to the duplicate message id's will
    be duplicated in the target mailbox.
    <P>
    See the online documentation contained with the product or the
    Messaging 3.X Administrator's Guide for exact syntax.

    Hi
    If I understand you correctly and if you are using Apple Mail version 2.0 or above navigate to /Users/Home folder. The Home folder is the one with the house icon, within that folder you will see a Library folder, within that folder you’ll see a Mail folder, within that folder you’ll see a folder that begins with POP followed by your name, within that folder will be a folder called INBOX.mbox, within that folder is a Messages folder. All the mail that you see within the application are there. They will be numbered and have a file suffix of .emlx. You can move these wherever you like.
    If you are using Entourage X, or Entourage 2004 you can easily multiple select mail messages, addresses etc from within the application and drag whatever you’ve selected to wherever you like.

  • How does one increase Dreamweaver text of my reading material?

    How does one increase the Dreamweaver text size for it's instructions etc.?

    The font sizes in the Dreamweaver user interface are controlled by the system fonts on your computer. The only way to increase them is to increase the size of the system fonts. In Windows, you do that through the Control Panel. MAC may be different
