How does one overcome a lost/forgotten password on time capsule?

I inherited an Apple Time Capsule that was in use in my office before I received it. However, I do not know the password to enable its use. How can I reset the password?

You can perform a Soft Reset to change the password(s) on the Time Capsule.

It is a standard figure8 power cable.. any electronic retailer will stock them.
You will find it hard to get white.. they are all black.. you can ask at apple store or repairer.. I don't think it is sold as an accessory.. but a repair shop might have a few.

Which one,, there are several..
If you still can get into the TC.. ie you have not lost the basic admin password.. the airport utility will give you full clear passwords for everything else.. exciting eh real security.
If you managed to even lose the admin password.. then I strongly suggest.
1. Don't bother changing it from public.. then you cannot forget it.
2. Soft reset the TC.. and magically.. all passwords are null and void for 5 min to give you time to change them all.. exciting eh.. such great security.
Soft reset.. you press the reset button for 1sec. That means 1-4sec.. or less than a hard reset.

How does one recover a lost Airport Express password?

Both on my iPhone and iPad I can use the wifi signal at my friend's house, so they both have stored the password for her Airport Express. My friend, however, needs to re-enter her forgotten AE password to use her own AE. Me not good with technology, so how can I get my iPhone and/or iPad to display the password so that I can provide it to her?

A different way to solve this problem is to use Keychain. Each set of passwords used by each application is encrypted, and your master password (usually set to your login password and unlocks when you log in) unlocks the lot of them.

How does one overcome the problem of songs being in a random order...?

Happened me earlier today when i was playing around with my ipod classic. I had it in good order in the playlist...but when I went to copy it to the playlist in the ipod classic..it randomised the order. I had to rename the file names so i could see the proper order..but then it wouldnt let me copy them across at all for some reason, so finally i had to covert to AAC and then match up the track times to the playlist in winamp which actually was in order.
Anyone know a way around this? I searched on the forum and the posts are regarding playlists order and what not...it is quite annoying because i spent like 40 minutes trying to organise one album when it should just be bam click and drag, done.

Say you have a left hand drive BMW and a right hand drive AUDI. typeOfDrive is a property for these two cars. It seems that I've lost my music purchased list and I'm wondering if there's anyway of retrieving it through Apple?

Sorry, but I'm not clear on what you're asking. Do you mean that the Purchased playlist is gone? If that's what you mean, just create a new Smart Playlist with Kind = Protected AAC audio file. That will recollect all your purchased music.
If that's not what you meant, please post back and explain your difficulty further.

How can I reset/override a forgotten password for Time Machine back up hard drive?

I have a g-drive slim but can't remember the password because I haven't used it in a long time. Checked g-drive website and it wasn't very helpful:

I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of the issue you are describing. If you are talking about an issue with an encrypted backup, there may not be a way to override the password:
You need your backup password to restore files from Time Machine backups. If you forget your backup password, Time Machine can’t use the backups.

How does one find Mac Mail mailbox in full Time Machine Backup?

I completed full backup of my MacBook on 9/24. I use a directly connected G Drive. I need to restore my mailbox from that backup, but it doesn't show up when I attempt to use Time Machine to do so. How can I find the mail box through Finder on the G Drive?

Further to this issue: I go into the finder and locate my mailbox in Library. When I go to back up 'Library' it goes back to the date in question - but there is no Library found?! There really must be a problem with the backup process. Any thoughts? I really need to find these emails!

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

HT1918 How does one organise the apple ID so that one uses the same email address to have an account on both the UL and Belgian itunes stores?

I have in the past created an Apple ID for use with the UK itunes store, because I want to read in English. If I sign in it seems that this ID will only allow me to purchase from the UK store. But I live in Belgium, so I can't download from the UK store. So I tried to create an apple ID for the Belgian itunes store. But I want to use the same email address as I used for the first apple ID I made (because I'm fed up of having to remember which email address I used for which account). When I tried this, I just get a message saying that the email address is already in use for another account (which I know, because it's me who made that account). Does anyone have a workaround for this?

I'm presuming you went ahead and set up a new Apple ID, yes? Using the same password in more than one Apple ID has worked for me in the past, but I haven't tried it in a while so the tightened security may have changed that. You could use the same password but add "-UK" and "-BE", or something like that, to make it easier to remember.
I understand what you mean about losing the ability to deal with UK purchased stuff, but this is becoming so inconvenient that I do want to delete that UK apple ID account. I have looked everywhere I can think of on the apple website (apple id, itunes, support etc) and I can't find a link/eplanation/contact point that deals with deleting apple ID and itune store accounts. Surely this must be possible?
It's possible, but Apple is very reluctant to do it, and it's not something a user can do on their own. It would be better to just stop using the UK account rather than trying to get it deleted. Just remove your payment information and there should be little reason to have the account deleted. If you really want to try, though, you'll need to send a message to iTunes support specifying that you want the account cancelled.
On a completely different matter, I have bought my son an ipod touch. But since he is younger than 13 years old, how does one go about using the itunes store to get music onto his ipod touch?

Mail will no longer download on the MacBook Pro and keeps asking for my password.

Mail should still be usable with your machine - but you'll need to update the settings to conform to the requirements of your system. Check with your ISP (like ATT, etc.) for the settings that will work with your Mail. Once you've updated this, you should be able to email like before.
For example, my ISP required that I go to Mail Preferences/Accounts and make sure the details conform to your email settings.
I have no idea of what your ISP is or what the settings might be, but this is likely the source of the problem.
