    Welcome to the Apple Community.
That's how it's supposed to work, you can't stop it. If this isn't what you want you should get yourself a POP based email account.

Notifications ...  how do I stop getting email notifications?  I like this site but now I get 20-50 or more notifications a day in my email.  I would rather shut that off and check back on my own now....

Once you've turned off notifications, you won't get new ones. But you still have to cancel the notifications you've been receiving. This thread explains how at the top: https://discussions.apple.com/static/apple/tutorial/email.html

How do I stop getting emails from support!!!!

To stop all email notifications or to select those you want to have go to Your Stuff in the top right of this window. Then select Your Preferences. When that page loads you will see a tab for Email Notifications. Select that and go through the choice for how or when you want to be notified by email, or not.

How do I stop getting email from the Apple Support Communities?  I am being innundated with hundreds of emails daily.  Help~~

If you are getting them from a forum as a whole (as opposed to just individual threads), then towards the top right of that forum page make sure that it says 'receive email notifications' in the Actions box :
If it says 'stop email notifications' then click on it so as to stop them

  • Shared Reminders: How do I stop getting emails when changes are made?

My wife and I both have iPhone 5's that we bought 2 weeks ago. We are sharing a calendar and a "Grocery" list in reminders. I have everything set up where it is working properly but I keep getting emails when a change is made to the grocery list. I don't get emails when there are changes to the calendar.
I want to stop getting emails when there are changes made to our grocery list but I am not sure how to do it. We both have icloud accounts and we both have checked the box under preferences in my calendar for "in app notifications" for icloud invitations. When I open Reminders in icloud I don't see a preferences for reminders.
If it helps , or makes any difference, my wife has a yahoo mail account and I have a hotmail account. She does not get emails about changes being made.
    thanks

Did you try to switch Push "off" and fetch to "manually"? This way no mail is delivered until you choose to open the mail app. The moment you open Mail on your device, your mail account will be checked and if any, mail will be delivered.
    Fetch New Data
This setting lets you turn Push on or off for MobileMe, Microsoft Exchange, Yahoo!, and any other push accounts on iPhone. Push accounts deliver new information to iPhone whenever new information appears on the server (some delays may occur). You might want to turn Push off to suspend delivery of email and other information, or to conserve battery life.
When Push is off, and with accounts that don’t support push, data can still be fetched—that is, iPhone can check with the server and see if new information is available. Use the Fetch New Data setting to determine how often data is requested. For optimal battery life, don’t fetch too often.
Turn Push on: Choose “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” > Fetch New Data, then tap to turn Push on.
Set the interval to fetch data: Choose “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” > Fetch New Data, then choose how often you want to fetch data for all accounts.
To conserve battery life, fetch less frequently.
Setting Push to OFF (or setting Fetch to Manually on the Fetch New Data screen) overrides individual account settings.

  • How do i stop getting emails sent from apple community, any help please

    Hi,
how do i stop the emails from Apple support community
    any help please!!!

AAAARGGHH - I posted to grumble about the "new" iTunes, [which is still a load of garbage], but cos 100s of people feel the same too, my mailbox is FULL of threads to the post.
I have reset my e-mail preferences to NO for ALL notifications, with a conspicuos lack of success. So i use a junk filter to stop them, but I ain't pleased. Can anyone explain how I can get the system to work right [I know, I can guess what you are thinking, expaecting anything from Apple to be user friendly is a long shot.... but at least on can try!]
    Thanks very much!

  • How do I stop getting prompted about setting up or choosing a persona?

I am setting up a computer system for my parents. They have very little experience of using computers, so I want everything to be as simple and predictable as possible. I want it to work (more or less) the same every time they switch it on. Things like these occasional prompts from Firefox to set up or choose a persona will only worry them, or make them wonder what to do.
So, how do I stop them ever getting prompted about setting up or choosing a persona?

If you click a link or image to wear a persona then Firefox will install that persona or prompt to install it.
Previewing only work for pages that are white listed as an allow exception for software installation. So you can remove the www.getpersonas.com site.

  • How can I stop getting emails when adding events to iCal (Mac) or Calendar (iOS)?

This question could just as well go to the iCloud on my Mac community...
I put 'I' in the topic for brevity but it's actually my wife who gets emails every time either of us adds or edits events, whether we do it in iCal on either of our Macs or in Calendar on our iOS devices. Presumably this is to do with a setting in iCloud somewhere, but I've searched high and low and can’t find it. I've also compared settings on our Macs and phones and can't find anything that could be the culprit. It's driving her nuts!
For more information, we share all our calendars so that either of us read and write any of them, and we're both on iOS 5.1 on our iPhones (hers is a 3GS, mine's a 4), and we're both on Mac OS X 10.7.3 Lion (2010 27" iMac and 2011 MacBook Pro respectively).

this seems to be a new "bug" on iCloud.  It's happened to many users (judging by the posts here).  My wife and I have one shared calendar and we've been happily using it without the email problems (because I had set iCloud NOT to email us whenever an event changed - this was done at icloud.com, a setting there).  Recently we began getting emails.  I suspect a change in iCloud that was in error, because I just checked my setting and the option to have an email sent when an event changes is not checked.

  • How does one stop Firefox from opening at login ?

I have Firefox opening up at login even though the 'open at login is unchecked'. I had firefox 'open at login'checked for a week. Now I do not want firefox to 'open at login'.
I have unchecked 'open at login' and I still get Firefox opening up at login. How can I stop the firefox box opening after login. Any suggestions?

Thankyou. I looked it up in the "help" menu and tried what was suggested there and it worked. I have also followed your direction - System Preferences>accounts>login items and deleted the firefox entry. Cheers

  • How can I stop getting emails every time I sign in with my ID?

I'm getting an email every time I sign in or out of my apple ID. I do not like extra emails in my inbox. Where is the button to stop the emails?

It is a new security feature after the iCloud was compromised for some people. If you are getting this when logging into the Find My iPhone app on the phone, then if you do not log out and set a passcode on the phone, you should not receive this again. As far as I know, and I've not tested this because I do not receive the emails is when you log in on the computer, most people report that if you log in on the same computer again, it will not generate an email. Seems like it might put a cookie on the computer to recognize that you have logged in with that computer before.

  • How does one erase their email from firefox sync or get a regenerated recovery key if they deleted their account info?

I set up a sync account long time ago and lost my recovery key. I read that if you delete your sync account, it would remove all data. I tried to create a new account but I keep getting the error that my email is already being used. Then I read how to regenerate a new recovery key, but I can't complete the task because my account info has been deleted. How is my account deleted and my email is still showing as an active sync account? Is there a way to recover my email with out having to recreate a new sync with a new email address?

Okay, I am thouroughly annoyed right now because, as I mentioned earlier, I had deleted my account and it still wanted to say that my email was active. Going against all means of logic, I used my email to reset my password (which recreated my ability to login), logged in, and deleted my account (again) and that seemed to do the trick. Why didn't it just do that in the first place?
Oh well, at least it is working now.

  • How Does One Stop Telemarketer Calls?

I would like to know how to stop telemarketers from calling. I am and have been on the National Do Not Call List and have an unlisted number, yet we have been getting calls all throughout the day and night. I thought the government stated no one is allowed to call someone on the Do Not Call List or they could be fined, yet the calls are recorded with garble or music, so how can anyone do anything? If you call Verizon, they state they are allowed to call between the hours of 9-5 or something like that, but I am on the Do Not Call List, so they are not allowed to be calling, yet they do. I file the complaints with the National Do Not Call site, but I don't know what else to do. I even asked the Ellen DeGeneres & Anderson Cooper show to try and help. How can these places be fined when they can't even be stopped?
Can this be linked to unlimited phone access where these telemarketers are calling and then somehow connecting to your number to make free calls or something else??? Otherwise what is the purpose of them calling and only having music or garble play?
For instance (without listing their numbers), on 2-21-13, the same number called me at 3:31, 3:42, 3:53, 4:05, 4:33, 5:05, 8:45 and 8:47 at night and that is just the ones I marked down for that day - there could have been more.
Then today, one number called at 10:45 and 11:04, and then another one called at 11:51, then another called at 12:15, then another called at 12:19 & 12:53 and then again at 5:35 pm, and then another called at 2:45 and 3:01, and then yet another one alled at 3:38 pm...and the last one SO FAR was the one at 5:35 pm. I could have missed marking some down too, so there could possibly be more.
This is crazy and shouldn't be allowed since I thought the National Do Not Call List was made for this reason to protect this from happening to us. Is it just Verizon or maybe unlimited access customers or what???
    Any suggestions??? Thanks.
