You should not update the standard database table directly.
through the partner profile tcode: WE20 you can update the table EDIPHONE.
u can choose required partner profile in the WE20, select the tab 'Telephony', and update the data, the table EDIPHONE will get updated.
if you want to maintain this edi phone data for a particular message type/s then select inbound/output parameters and double clikc on it, go to last tab in teh screen 'Telephony', and updated the required data.

How does SAP trigger a deletion request to OpenText (IXOS)

Currently we are trying to implement OpenText as the Archive Server for SAP NetWeaver 7.0.
We did able to archive documents (mostly ARCHIVELNK) into OpenText but have problems on deleting documents in the Archive Server when the retention date expired. Referring to OpenTextu2019s documentations, the Archive Server will delete the documents when it received a delete request from the leading application.
We are a bit confused on how does SAP send a delete request to the Archive Server. Are there any TCode or program required to achieve this approach?

Hi,
There is no link between update type and account assignment reference. I will explain in brief so that you can understand it better. Let us take the case of fixed deposit. You are having 2 kinds of fixed deposit - 1 in local currency and another in foreign currency. Assume both are managed using different product types say 51A and 51B. Now while making an investment, both are going to post similar entries - Dr investment account (asset) Cr Bank account. Hence we assign same update types for both. And thus the posting specification will also be same and the account symbols will also be same.
But the actual G/L account for both is going to be different because in general we manage investments in local currencies separately with that of foreign currencies in our ledger. This is where we have 2 different account assignment references and when we assign the G/L accounts to account symbol, we make it pick different G/L accounts for same account symbol using different account assignment references.
Hope this clears your doubt. But please note this is just 1 way of doing it. We can manage the same scenario using 1 account assignment reference itself and make it to post to different G/L accounts using the different currency option.

Your MBP updates time from a time server over the internet. The iPhone sets the time using the cell phone system. My AT&T iPhone is always 1 minute behind my MBP.
I think that the iPad syncs time with iTunes or through the WiFi network. My iPad which syncs to my MBP and uses WiFi from an Apple AirPort Extreme has the same exact time as my MBP, down to the second (they switch minutes simultaneously). I might be wrong on this point, so if someone knows something more, I will stand corrected.

When creating Outbound Delivery, how does SAP propose Delivery Type?

in VL01N, when i create an outbound delivery i can create it with reference to an SO or without reference to an SO.
But how does SAP know the delivery type to use?
I don't know where to really look.
in SPRO i went to:
Logistics Execution ---> Shipping --> Deliveries
but all i saw was delivery type definition.
then i went down the path:
LE --> Shipping --> Copy Control --> Specify Copy Control for Deliveries
then i found a table linking Sales Order Types and Delivery Types.
However, we use SO doc. type Z*** for example but I see that there are multiple entries for it linking to various delivery types including LF and another custom Z*** delivery type.
My question is, how is the system choosing which delivery type to use?
Is it maintained in customer master or at config level?

Hi Gavin,
If you check VOV8 for example standard order (OR), the delivery type is LF. Here you can define only delivery type person SO. Hence you will not find SO to LF relation as 1:N but will surely find N:1.
Item category just defines the billing relevance of the item. Hence if billing is delivery related then delivery will be created for the item.
Now once order is created when tried to deliver, it will know that LF is the delivery type from VOV8 and from item it will know he should deliver it or not.

You can Use Function Module "HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA".
Functionality
This function module enables you to maintain master data for employees and applicants. You can enter field names and contents in the 'proposed values' table. This will then be transferred to the corresponding infotypes. The same validation checks take place as would in the individual maintenance screens for the infotypes. You can enter as much data as you like. You can enter several records or infotypes at once. You are responsible for making sure that the data is consistent. If necessary, the module returns an error message. The error messages are the same as the those which appear in the dialog, in other words, the individual maintenance screen error messages are transferred rather than interpreted by this module.

If you're not using chrome you can just go to adobe's website (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/) and download the newest flash player. You run the .dmg and then open the application, which updates flash. With the latest version of flash there should be a preference pane within system preferences to allow you to change settings and check for updates.

How does one update Subtemple value from Yes to No?

Greetings! In the instructions of a published problem statement (Note ID: 808571.11) there is a line that says:
"c) Check if the subtemplate is set to NO. Update it to NO if it is set to Yes."
How does one update the Subtemplate value from Yes to No? In edit configuration, I do not see a Subtemplate value column.

With all due respect ... I do not see how one can change the Subtemplate value from Yes to No. When I query the offending Template, the Subtemplate column is not displayed in bold, indicating to me that it can not be updated. Clicking on Edit Configuration, doe not provide an ability to change the value either.
As best I can determine, one needs to 1) query up the template
2) download the rtf file(s)
3) end date the template
4) create a new template and then set the Subtemplate value to No.
And the same steps appear to be required in order to add or update a template Description.
Which raises the question, Why can this not be done by editing the configuration?

What I am curious to know is wheather it is logically correct to update HRP table through abap statments or no. use those... becasue if u directly insert, update or modify record in HRP1000 or HRP1001...
then some related table might not be updated..
So use FMs..

How does oracle accesses v$ tables or views in mount state

Hi All,
I want to know how oracle accesses fixed tables/views while the database is in mount state.
I did the following:
1. Started the database in mount state.
2. Query v$database ,v$datafile--Successful
3. Queried dba_data_files.---ERROR
SQL> select * from dba_data_files;
select * from dba_data_files
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01219: database not open: queries allowed on fixed tables/views only
As per my understanding goes,all these tables are a part of Data Dictionary which is stored physically on system tablespace.
Now since the database is mounted ,it cannot access any part of system tablespace's data.Am I right??
So how does it queries v$ tables and other fixed database tables in mount state???

the v$(dynamic) view comes from instance
the dba(static) views comes from dictionary
but there is only one view can be look while instance is in nomount mode
and that is
v$instance ,,,

How does Vault Update - all or only altered data?

With a vault already established, how does the update vault process works? In other words, let say I modified or created 10 image versions (of the 3,000 plus stored in Aperture). If I update the valut (on a external HD), are all pictures overwritten or just the new data that's changed?

The vault functionality is basically a sync functions. After updating a vault, the vault will be a copy of you Aperture Lib. This means that images that you have deleted from you lib will be deleted from you vault. Notice that the images are not gone, but copied to a folder called deleted images.

How does impdp handles external tables

I am just done with schema import and one of the package is invalid because it is referring the External Table. I am getting the error " Table or View does not exist".
How does impdp handles external tables ?
Do we need to replicate the directories and files from the source to imported destination ?
