How does share Internet to Window 7?, How to share Airport to Window 7?

Hello Apple Forums,
I recently have bought a MacBook Pro 15" and I have heard there is a feature of the Macbook acting as a hotspot provided a LAN with internet is connected.
I have followed the "Sharing Internet" tutorial.
System Preferences > Sharing > Internet Sharing > To computers using: Airport > Airport Option > Enable Encryption > WEP Key 128 bit.
I manage to get my WiFi network running. All my Apple product (iPhone 4, iPhone 2G, iPod Touch) can connect with no problem. Even with a password set, it works with no problem. It works both with WEP 40 bit and 128 bit.
However, when I attempt to connect my Window 7 laptops, they do manage to detect the network but are unable to join when a password is set.
Without a password, the Window 7 can join the network with no problem... However this means that the public can also utilise my Internet which is not not very secure for me... Here is the error I get: http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/4451/cannotconnecttombp.png
Please reply as I really want to use this feature, saving myself for buying a new WiFi router.

I like to have a time channel at the first position with group index 1 and number 1.
When I read the TDMS file with DIADEM the time channel (Float64) is on a differernt position, and the channels are not sorted alphabetically.

Hi Jörg,
i suppose that you´re programme whose create the *.tdms file is writing on false position. Try to create datas with timechannel on first indes in diadem, then save it and then open it again. you see that all is correct. So please tell me what programm in what version do you use and please attache it here.

Here you find the gtdms_8.x.zip - when you extract it and opened the *.llb you find vi´s for all functions e.g. writing 2d array of strings to *.tdms file
when you open the subvi´s then you see how created and writing datas/structure to *.tdms files. Because *.tdms is binary you can´t see structure with open it in editor.
When you don´t have Labview you can use the 30 days test of current version 8.5 under following link

Try the following to fix the iTunes Can't Connect issue that you are having:
Open Settings.
Open General.
Open Date & Time.
Switch the Set Automatically setting to Off.
Open Set Date & Time.
Set the date to a year ahead.
Go back to the Home screen and open Passbook.
Tap the App Store button. The App Store should load.
Go back to Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically.

How does one install IoT (flash.ffu) on an SD card under Windows 7

The dism.exe that runs under Windows7 doesn't support the /ApplyImage command. How do I otherwise install flash.ffu on an SD card under Windows7? I have a second computer that runs Windows8 but it doesn't have an SD drive.

Officially you should have a system which is running Windows 10 Technical Preview to get the version of DISM needed to apply the FFU file to an SD card.
In the forums however I have heard of some people downloading the ADK for Windows 10 and getting the updated version of DISM from there. While this approach might work for you, it's unsupported if it fails.
I think one person used the 'boot from VHD' option to install the preview into a VM, and then boot from the VHD as a way to flash the image.

How does my employer or ISP see how I view the internet while I am in Private Browsing?

I use my employers lap top computer for personal use while I am at home. I even allow my children to facebook with my laptop. I do not use the companies ISP nor do I use Private Browsing while at work. If I use the Private Browsing while at home on my own ISP, is my employer able to track where I have been on the internet.

Cookies are created normally during a private browsing session. The same rules and exceptions are used during a PB session and exceptions that you create during a PB session will last. However all cookies are removed (expire) if you end a PB mode session or exit Firefox. As posted above: it doesn't make any difference for your ISP if you are in PB mode, your ISP doesn't even know if you are. PB mode only prevents data to be stored in the <u>[http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder]</u>, all other storage by AV software, firewall, ISP etc. is not affected and will still collect data as usual.

How does one capture an image of a selected area of a window ?

I tried the "System Preferences" "Keyboard Mouse" "Keyboard Shortcut" and the combination of keys decribed there- but they do not work.
Better to say, they work sometimes and don't on others. What can be the clue?

How does solaris read fat32 floppy & UFS + how do i no its configed okay?

HI , I have solaris 9 for intell and I want to set up my floppy drive
so that it can read fat32 windows files of my windows floppy discs how
would i go about doing this.... Ive tried mkfs -F pcfs /dev/diskette
but it says device busy even though when i do df nothing of that

The "raw" floppy device is busy because "vold", the solaris removable media manger process, manages
it. Use the volume manager devices.
1. put formatted floppy disk into drive, then run
volcheck -v /dev/rdiskette
Volcheck should respond with "/dev/rdiskette has media"
2. In case there was an existsing filesystem on the media, vold has already mounted it under
/floppy/floppy0
Since we're going to reformat the floppy with a new filesystem, unmount the floppy with:
volrmmount -e floppy0
(this is a "logical" eject event for the floppy device, which unmounts any mounted filesystem from the
device).
3. Create a pcfs (= FAT) filesystem on the volume manager floppy device
mkfs -F pcfs /vol/dev/aliases/floppy0
4. A "logical" device insert event for volume manage will mount the new pcfs filesystem
volrmmount -i floppy0
The floppy will be mounted under /floppy/floppy0/
5. copy files to or from /floppy/floppy0/
6. "physically" eject the floppy with:
eject floppy0
(skip steps 2. - 4. when you want to read a fat windows floppy without creating a new filesystem on it)

When I bookmark a page, a list of suggested places to save it is available, but how does it select those places (and how can I edit it to remove unneeded folders)?

Seems like you can get the help of abaper and see at what point system check the different combination for pricing procedure determination.
If there is any EXIT / Enhancement available at this point, you can write a logic to fetch the customer pricing procedure from the SHIP TO PARTY Master data.

How does a proxy servlet work and how to set up

I'm a newbie to Weblogic, using 8.1SP3. I came across documentation about a Proxy Servlet that allow weblogic to proxy requests to another web server. This is the scenerio I'm trying to set up. I want to create a weblogic module that proxies to yahoo.com. The communications between weblogic and yahoo may not be SSL, but from weblogic back to my client is SSL. I created a yahoo directory under user-projects\domains\mydomain. I created a WEB-INF\web.xml with the following based on the documentation:

          Believe it or not, all I did after adding the weblogic.xml was restart the bea server; even though I had redeployed the module.

HT3529 how does iMessage differ from standard messages & how do I get it to work?

I have got an iPhone 4S as well as an iPad 1 & have them both linked with iCloud. I think I have set everything correctly for iMessage but don't understand when iMessage kicks in instead of standard SMS/MMS.
I was also under the impression that my SMS messages would be stored in iCloud so I could store them on my MacBook so I never lose them but that isn't working either.
Can anyone help?

Why does my internet constantly freeze since I hooked up Airport Extreme?

I purchased an Airport Extreme for Wi-Fi and to back up my MacBook files. I had it hooked up for about 2 week now and since then, it seems our internet is constantly freezing. Sometimes its just once other times it happens every few minutes. We stream video often and it has been getting stuck all the time. It seems to be the worst in the early morning and around 8:30 at night.
I'm not network savvy but will try to secribe how it is hooked up. I have the airport connected via a modem (not wifi) with Ethernet. The internet is DSL. There is also a security camera connected to a D-Link router that I plugged into the Airport. There's also some kind of internet feed for our PV system that I connected directly into the Airport too.
We have Apple TV, 1 Macbook, 2 iPads, 2 iPhones, 1 iTouch, 2 PCs, 1 Sam Sung phone. There can be up to 3 devices streaming video at once. I thought it had something to do with the D-Link camera but not sure.
We disconnected the Airport today and connected a Westtell router and so far no freezing. I saw some posts about D-Link and Airport Extreme not being compatible but I'm not sure what that means. If they are incompatible, does that mean I have to choose to use the Airport and get rid of the security camera or vice versa??
I'm frustrated because the Extreme was expensive and I'm wondering if I can ever get it working.

On your MacBook: Go to System Preferences > Network. Select Wi-Fi from the left column. Click the Advanced... button.
Under the Preferred Networks list, select every Wi-Fi network that appears and delete each one using the "–" (minus) button. Select the box "Remember networks this computer has joined" if it is not already selected.
OK then Apply.
Select your AirPort Extreme's wireless network in your Mac's Wi-Fi menu, and determine if that solves its connection problems.
Our alarm company set up the camera with the D-Link before we got the Ariport and we can't figure out how to hookup the camera to the Airport without the D-Link.
You may need to solicit the security company's help. Adding your Extreme to your network as a router constitutes a fundamental change in your network's design. If you are now using the Extreme as your router, the D-Link router should be reconfigured as a bridge. Depending on the nature of your security system, it may not be required at all, but your concern about the security camera requiring specific port forwarding settings is justified. Changing your router from the D-Link to the Extreme may require forwarding specific ports using AirPort Utility, otherwise your security camera's video may not be accessible from the Internet. This goes beyond any help I can provide, since your security system has requirements of its own.
Configuring the Extreme as a bridge is likely to solve the problem... but if the D-Link wireless router was sufficient, do you really need another access point? The reason I'm asking is this:

If you need a wireless backup device for Time Machine, a Time Capsule may be a better choice.

How does OBIEE render international character sets?

Our OBIEE Oracle Business Intelligence 11.1.1.5 application running on Linux x86 (64-bit) and a 11.2.0.2.0 database is using the AL32UTF8 Unicode character.
So our database will support languages such as Japanese, Spanish etc.
But how does OBIEE deal with these? How do the webpages know that the content is UTF8 also?

How does OutOfMemoryError work ?

I have a simple WebCrawler running with 16 Threads.
In one window I always display the free memory.
I'm running the program with -Xmx256m -Xms128m.
After a while, threads start to crash with an OutOfMemoryError - but I don't understand, why, because the Runtime tells me, that there are still over 100 MB free !?!? How can it be, that my threads are crashing ? And how can I get further information, like in which line they crashed or which Object produced the error - the VM only tells me: OutOfMemory - I tried to catch this error, but it seems not to be possible...
How does the VM handle memory? How can this happen? What can I do ?

You can catch the OutOfMemoryError, just remember that it is a Error, not an Exception. You just have to do something like this:
catch (Throwable t) {}
Not your normal catch(Exception e) {}. Also, how are you displaying free memory? With Runtime.getRuntime().freeMemory() ?? Or some other method? I just ask because I've never had problems with this method returning a bad value even in threaded programs and I am wondering if it is possible so I can avoid it in the future.
