How does Remote work with Apple TV?
    1. Does Remote, "Play" the music that resides on your iPod Touch>Apple TV>Home Speakers.
    OR
Does Remote "Control" the music that resides on Apple TV HD>Home Speakers.
(If so... say you have a iPod Touch that only holds 8GB's but your music collection on your Apple TV exceeds that amount.
Will Remote still "Control" the larger music collection on Apple TV or your computer?)
    2. Will iPod Wifi work on a patio outside a home to control Apple TV inside the home?
    thank you in advance, Tom

Remote is a way to control iTunes on either your computer or Apple TV using a WiFi connection. See this article for complete instructions.

  • I have a Powerbook G4 (don't laugh) with iPhoto '08. How does iCloud work with my computer. I have a iPhone 4 that has iCloud.

I have a Powerbook G4 (don't laugh) with iPhoto '08. How does iCloud work with my computer. I have a iPhone 4 that has iCloud. Is iCloud pushing my phone's PhotoStream to my computer if it doesn't have the latest OS? Thanks so much for whoever can help!

iCloud will not work with your computer because iCloud requires Lion. Lion requires an Intel Core 2 Duo processor or better. For you to have iCloud and PhotoStream you would need to buy a newer Mac Intel model meeting the requirements for Lion:
    Lion System Requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • How does lion work with logic 9.1.4?

how does lion work with logic 9.1.4?

    Greetings,
So far, everything seems as stable as before.  Which doesn't actually mean its rock solid, but otherwise workable.  I'm running a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24DSP with beta audio drivers.  So far, everything is running well.  I decided to jump into the 64bit work environment with Logic.  I have yet to encounter huge problems with the 32bit audio bridge.  Just making sure I bounce everything that is 32bit.
As for everything else within Logic, I can't say I hate Lion.  Matter of fact, Lion seems buggier than Logic at the moment.  Logic handles well in Lion, but Lion on its own overall is a different can of worms.  I am mixed about a 10.7.1 update.  Usually, it fixes something on the OS, but breaks something else in Logic.
I have faith that Lion will turn out to be as solid as Snow Leopard.  SL was my favorite OSX so far.  Lion still leaves allot to be desired in terms of stability.
Again, answer to your question:  for me, Logic and Lion play nice.............for now.
    LGK

  • How does QoS work with WAAS WCCP? What's the interaction between QoS Traffic Classification and WAE Traffic Application Policy?

How does QoS work with WAAS WCCP? What's the interaction between Router QoS Traffic Classification and WAE Traffic Application Policy?

By default, WAAS preserves the DSCP marking on intercepted packets.  There is a configuration option to set/override the DSCP value at the global (device), application, and classifier levels.  Currently WAAS provides marking only.  There is no action taken by WAAS based on the DSCP value.

  • Does 'versions' work with microsoft word, ppt and excel or just pages, keynote and numbers?

Does 'versions' work with microsoft word, ppt and excel or just pages, keynote and numbers? I tried to do what the videos say but the little icon for versions is not there on word. Does this mean it only works for pages etc... or do i have to activate it somehow? If it is only for pages then this ***** and should be better advertised!!!

Each application will need to be updated to work with Versions, Full Screen, and other Lion-specific features.

    Hi,
It seems there is nothing to do with IE mode.
Please make sure your link still can be accessed.
The WebBrowser displays HTML content in applications running in a Silverlight 4 or later out-of-browser applications or in Silverlight 5 in-browser trusted applications only.

I have an ipad 2 and I noticed I have over 3000 emails in All Mail. I want to know how can I delete these emails. It looks like you can only do it one at a time. It will take me forever. Please help me.

You can only delete them one at a time on the iPad. If you have an IMAP email account, go to your email in on the server using a web browser and select as many as you can at a time and delete them that way. That action will be reflected on the iPad. In IMAP - whatever you do on one device syncs across all devices. If you have POP email - start deleting one at a time.

  • How does it work with an iPad?

Thinking about buying an Airport for my iPad to boost the wifi signal any know how the Airport works with an iPad?

An Airport will not boost a WiFi signal.  Period.
An Airport can be configured to extend (repeat) a WiFi signal generated by another Airport.  This is done to extend the distance of the WiFi system but it does cause a loss of throughput (because of overhead).
I wanted to get a WiFi signal out to my back porch.  I turned off the radio on my existing router (Westell) and purchased TWO Airport Express units.  One replaced the Westell radio and the other functions as an extender.  Works like a champ.

  • HD installation, how does this work with installing software?

    Something I was missing, is an explanation about ho wto get the new harddrive working. Maybe it is really very simple, but;
If you insert a new unformatted harddrive, how can you start up the Mac and insert the CD with the operating system? Surely, if the harddrive isn't formatted, the Mac wn't start up, and if it doesn't start up, surely you cannot insert the CD with the operating software?
Are there any other activities I need to do to install the harddrive? e.g. format it using an external bay, or something like that?
Also, what type of harddrive should I go for? Standard IDE HDD? How about SATA or SATAII, will that work with this iMac (G5, 1.8GHz, 20", non-iSight)?

Yes, you could use it. The owner of a copy under a Single User licence (the norm) can install one copy of the OS on one machine. It is implied therefore that the seller has uninstalled any previous installation. This is the seller's concern not yours.
However I would be wary about buying the latest Mac OS X 10.5 from ebay, when this product is still available new from an AppleStore. The trap could be on ebay that they are selling machine specific disks, known by their grey colour, which are not the Retail versions and most likely will not install on your computer.
In short, if you want a Leopard disk buy it new from Apple and avoid that potential hazard.

  • How does receive() work with multiple receivers/subscribers?

    Hi,
actually I'm using the JMS API to create a lightweight MQ service for Java ME tailored for my purposes. I'm generally familiar with JMS but I have some question to which I couldn't find the answer neither in the API spec nor on google. I think that many of you can answer it.
At first, is it possible to create multiple receivers on the same queue (same or different sessions)? Generally, I though a queue can only have one consumer since the call of receive() will delete the message from the queue so that a theoretical second consumer couldn't get the message anymore. But int the APi docs, it doesn't explain what happens if you call createReceiver() multiple times. Will it throw an exceptions?
A similar question goes for topics. A topic is supposed to support multiple subscribers. When subscribers register listeners, I understand it. But what if they don't and instead call receive() which is available because TopicSubcriber extends MessageConsumer. Is the message also deleted from the queue or is receive not supported for topics and will throw an exception? Will it remain until all subscribers have either called receive on that message or have been notified by onMessage? If yes, what happens if a subscriber doesn't call receive. Does the message stays there forever? What if new messages coming in, will the queue wait until the previous message is completely consumed?
From my point of view, I tend to only allow one receiver for a queue. If the receiver calls receive, the message will be deleted. For topics, I would only allow listeners, not receive() calls. Once the message has been delivered to all subscribers it will be deleted. If I'm misunderstanding the concepts, please correct me!
    Thanks a lot!

At first, is it possible to create multiple receivers on the same queue (same or different sessions)? Generally, I though a queue can only have one consumer since the call of receive() >will delete the message from the queue so that a theoretical second consumer couldn't get the message anymore. But int the APi docs, it doesn't explain what happens if you call >createReceiver() multiple times. Will it throw an exceptions? If you have multiple receivers on the same queue then the JMS provider will distribute messages between the two receivers on the basis that each message goes to only one receiver. The exact distribution of messages depends on the JMS provider, and is not mandated by the JMS specification.
A similar question goes for topics. A topic is supposed to support multiple subscribers. When subscribers register listeners, I understand it. But what if they don't and instead call >receive() which is available because TopicSubcriber extends MessageConsumer. Is the message also deleted from the queue or is receive not supported for topics and will throw an >exception? You can consume messages from a topic using either a MessageListener or by calling receive(). They both work in the same way.
Will it remain until all subscribers have either called receive on that message or have been notified by onMessage? If yes, what happens if a subscriber doesn't call receive. Does the message stays there forever? What if new messages coming in, will the queue wait until the previous message is completely consumed?Essentially, if you send a message to a topic then it will be delivered to every subscriber, irrespective of whether that subscriber is synchronous (calling receive() or asynchronous (supplying a MessageListener).
In both cases, the consumer might not actually be ready to accept that message just yet (the applicaiton might not have called receive() yet, or onMessage() is still processing a previous message). In this case the message will be held within the JMS provider in an internal queue of messages designated for that specific consumer. Logically speaking, there's an internal queue for each consumer, rather than an internal queue for the whole topic, though how the provider actually implements this will vary. Note that the concept of each subscriber on a topic having its own internal queue is not one described in the documentation, it's just a way for me to explain it.
If the consumer closes before it actually receives the messages waiting in its queue, and the subscriber is non-durable, then the internal queue will be thrown away. If the subscriber is durable then the internal queue continues to exist and continues to accumulate messages even after the subscriber has closed.
From my point of view, I tend to only allow one receiver for a queue.
If the receiver calls receive, the message will be deleted. For topics, I would only allow listeners, not receive() calls.
Once the message has been delivered to all subscribers it will be deleted. If I'm misunderstanding the concepts, please correct me!Yes, you have slightly misunderstood this :-) I hope my explanation above helps clarify this.

  • How does this work with multiple systems backing up with time machine

I was wondering as Apple states that this will do multiple time machine backups as in multiple computers, how does this do this? I am assumng that it will require me to partition the srive in the unit as multiple partitions. 1 for each time computer with time machine running.

I'm sorry, I'm not quite sure how to interpret your answer so I'll ask for clarification.
Do you mean that the backup belonging to each user will be protected by filesystem perms? In other words Alice's backup will be owned by Alice and only readable by her, ditto for the hyperthetical Bill?
I guess in other words, does Time Machine preserve file ownership perms?

  • Keep My Email How Does It Work With Outlook

I have two internet service providers, Verizon and another small local DSL/Phone provider.  I have kept the Verizon for several years because neither has very good bandwidth and my household bogs down without 2 mediocre services, and for the email, which I have had for close to 10 years.  Right now the Verizon line is not even usable.  I had to call India twice and actually did get a person to repair the line 2 times.  It worked for three weeks after the line was fixed, now, barely at all.  I'm tired of spending $75.00/month for nothing.  The support is horrible.  The company could care less whether they keep you as a customer.
That being said, I'd like to get rid of it and turn the line over to the other local ISP DSL provider or God Forbid, try Home Fusion,  and keep my email alias which I have used forever.  I don't really want to hear about how I should have a gmail account or this is my fault for not getting an email address not linked to an ISP.  This is what I am working with, and I need to keep the account.
I manage my email locally using Outlook 2010, and I have all of the old email.  I sometimes occassionally use the web-based email, but not often.
First, if I buy the domain before I cancel, will I get my emails addressed to the alias [email protected], because none of the parties contacting me have ever addressed anything to the real email name which is a mixture of hard to remember numbers and letters.
Second and in particular reference to Outlook, would I be able to get and send emails from Outlook with the account currently set up for [email protected], or do I have to reconfigure Outlook to treat the name preserved under the domain purchase as a new account, and set up a new account in Outlook for the same email name after I purchase the domain to retain the alias email.  In other words can I continue to send and received without any further modification to my existing account as it is now set up in Outlook.
By the way, Verizon has driven me to this.  I would be perfectly happy keeping the DSL if it worked, but I can't continue to support a non-working DSL line to the tune of $75.00 (phone line plus dsl service), with such absolutely horrible support.  I really would like to try the home fusion service but am not yet convinced I should due to all of the reports about the low caps, phantom data usage, and intermittent service from some.

I was really hoping they would do it that way. I mean why have to create the <br />wheel twice. When they update ACR LR uses it just like Bridge and Photoshop <br />and Elements. And, I do mean uses the ACR plug-in, just copy it to a LR <br />folder and you are updated.<br /><br />Is this what they did? Or, do we have two things to download from Adobe when <br />they add new camera support?<br /><br />Robert<br /><br /><[email protected]> wrote in message <br />news:[email protected]..<br />>I believe that LR uses ACR for processing RAW, so as ACR is updated, so is <br />>LR.

  • Does Lion work with Office for Mac?

Does Lion work ok with Office for Mac? I have the latest version of Office for Mac, but it is the cornerstone of my working life and I would hate to upgrade and find that it doesn't work.

Yes, Office 2011 works perfectly on Lion.  Only versions 2004 and older have a problem as Rosetta is no longer supported.
    I hope this helps.
