How does someone get help?

I have an issue with Digital Editions and the online community here has not been able to help.  I tried Adobe's online support chat and they refused to help me.  Any suggestion on where to go to get my issue with an Adobe products resolved?

    Hi all,
    My 500gb Time Capsule has started to show the dreaded "Volume Can Not Be Mounted" error that I've seen mentioned on this message board a few times. This has been happening for both my computer (a MBP) and my fiance's computer (a MB.)
    I tried doing a quickformat of the disk, and then after that was complete, tried backing up again and got to about 1.5gb before it failed. The disk is again, not mountable.
    Thinking there might be a bad sector on the drive, or something similar, I tried doing a 1-pass secure erase, figuring that it would force the drive to go through every sector and mark bad sectors.
    Well, it's been 4 days now and that first pass of the secure delete is still going. I think my Time Capsule is just busted (the router aspect still works.)
    I tried going to the self-serve warranty pages, but after putting in all my info I'm presented with two options (both of which don't seem valid.) One was for the Genius Bar, but I can't seem to schedule a Time Capsule appointment online with them (only Mac, iPhone or iPod.) The other was for authorized service centers (all of them seem to be Carry-In Mac Only).
    Do I schedule a Mac appointment with the Genius Bar? Can I just do an online warranty repair/replace? Maybe single pass secure erases are supposed to take over 4 days? (I really doubt that...)

    I think you'll have to talk to Apple tech support (and they'll have you do all kinds of tests), or else you can go see a "genius," which would get you a new Time Capsule more quickly if yours is defective. Sign up for a "Mac" appointment.

    My daughter and me use the same cloud and apple id to buy songs in the past.  I got first iphone 5 and after trying to set up itunes to phone I ended up with all my daughters contacts from her iphone on my iphone.  I then deleted them from my phone one by one and now they are gone from her phone as well.  How does she get them back on hers and what happen????  Help with cloud!

    That's what happens when you share the same iCloud account.  First, migrate his phone to a different iCloud account using a different ID (you can continue to share the same ID for other services such as iTunes if you want).  To do this, on his phone save any photo stream photos that he wants to keep to his camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  If he are syncing notes with iCloud that he wants to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to him so he can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in his new account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; this won't effect your phone), provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone and choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted.  Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create his new account and choose Merge to upload the data.  After doing this, he can go to icloud.com and safely delete your data from his new account.
    Then, if your contacts were on your phone when you last backed it up to iCloud, you can restore them by following Winston Churchill's user tip here: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4841.  This involves turning off your wifi after your phone restarts during the restore process, then saving the contacts on your phone and deleting them from iCloud prior to turning your wifi back on and allowing the restore process to finish.  You can turn off your wifi either by pulling the cord out of the WAN port in your wifi router, or by simply unplugging it.

    You can post questions here too. If they are design questions if people know the answer they can respond too.
    For this particular issue, it does look like a design problem. From the screen shots, I'm guessing that the light gray box is using negative top margin to overlap the darker dray box. I think for this change the dark gray box to use height:auto and add a padding-bottom to it for the current space below the text. That way when the text starts to push down there will be a constant amout of space from the bottom of the text to the bottom of the dark gray box and that will push the light gray box down as well.

    My original I Phone 5 was running IOS 6.12
    My I phone 5S currently runs IOS 8..When I upgraded it, it had IOS 7 on it which made the I Photo app compatible with everything below IOS 8...( which the photo app is not compatible with ) so I just connected the I Phone 5S to my computer and thinking the new phone had IOS 7 on it that these was nothing to worry about..I thought all 900 + pictures in the photo stream would transfer but somewhere in the process, I Tunes decides to just go and install IOS 8 which requires that you run a " Photo Migration App" to transfer photos from IOS 7 & below. The problem was is that I didn't want IOS 8 on my new 5S so I thought I wouldn't have to do that part..
    Anyway the phone emerged with IOS 8 on it and the only photos that remained were the ones that were actually on the phone..The 900 + I had in the stream didn't transfer because the Photos that works on IOS 7 and below isn't compatible with IOS 8..I guess you have to use the photo migration app that comes with IOS 8 & I phone 6..But I didn't ask to upgrade to IOS 8...It just did it on it's own!
    I still have the I Phone 5 Back up that I did just before giving it back to Verizon but if I try to restore the I Phone 5S running IOS 8 those photos in the stream will not go back on the phone because IOS 8 isn't compatible with the I Photos" that ran on IOS 7 and below..
    So I have an I Pad mini that runs IOS 7..should I try and erase it...and put that I Phone 5 backup on it and pray the photos that were in the stream come back on it so I can transfer them back to my computer...then erase the I pad mini again and restore it using it's original backup that I have on the computer and the in the cloud?

  • How to actually get help with iWorks or how to return it

    I have lost over an hour of work today trying to get some assistance from apple. Bought iworks and the serial number doesn't work. They route me to different people who can't seem to help me. I try to return it and the store doesn't help me. Does anyone know how to get the serial number accepted or how to actually get help from this company or should I consider buying the product a loss and warn colleagues within the university? Thank you!

    I also bought iWork online and had it delivered to my office. I didn't want to carry the box home, so I stuck the disk/manual in my bag and threw the box away.
    Well, was that a mistake! I realised upon installation that is exactly where the only copy of the serial number is printed.
    Or so I thought.
    I hit on the idea of going back to the Apple email that notified me of the shipping of my product. On there I found the serial number and simply cut and pasted from there to the dialogue box asking for it during install.
    For me that worked. No problems with figures or letters being misread.
    Don't know if that's any help.

    In my family we have we have 3 dock stations audio devices: Bose Sound Dock series II, Philips DS3020/12, Sharp DK-AP7N(R).
    We have also 2 Iphones 4s and one ipod classic.
    The latest iphone 4s does not work with the Bose and Philips audio systems: the iPhone 4s is charging, but music is playing in the iPhone speakers and not in the dock speakers, on the iPhone there is a message. In Italian the message is "Il dispositivo non supporta questo accessorio" that almost means that the iPhone does not support the device. Please note that the iPhone works with the Sharp DK-AP7N(R) audio system.
    The other iPhone 4s works with all 3 devices since long time.
    Both the iPhones have iOS 7.1.1, so it should be not related to software version.
    The ipod classic works with all 3 devices.
    Does anyone know how to fix

    I know that Bose products work with iPhones they sell  Bose at Apple store online I also have Bose no problem
    On Blue Tooth on IPhone press forget this device and any others on list then try to pair iPhone again
    Make sure Blue Tooth is enabled on iPhone and do not run any other Apps at the same time.

    How does Time Machine help if, say, your iCal database gets messed up? Or, how does it help if you accidentally delete all your playlists from iTunes? I'd be interested to know.

    That's a very good question (although probably better directed at Apple than us). Because Time Machine is new and Apple's in house programs handle data in different ways, there are a range of different means of recovering data for different applications. Not very user friendly and iCal is one of the least user friendly ones.
    As an experiment, because I don't make much use of iCal and have no real idea how it works, I tried to find out how to restore its data. Starting with working with the application: nope, not TM aware at present. OK, where does it restore its data? Next step Spotlight where, as it happens, the obvious search "Calendars" brings up a folder in ~/Library labelled that with a whole lot of mysterious stuff in it. I'm pretty sure that restoring that folder would do the trick. No doubt, if you could figure out which Calendar belongs to what in the above folder you could restore a single calendar that was causing problems. Still, Apple's clearly got some work to do to make this more transparent. Roll on iCal4!
    (By the way Mail also restores from within the program).

    How do I get help reinstalling my Adobe creative suite 6 after IMAC IOS 10.8 crashed?  Apple had to reinstall operating system and all programs & data were lost.  Adobe System say serial number valid, but qualifying product can not be found on this computer.

    When you're installing Adobe upgrades, there are two ways of doing it:
    Have an existing, qualifying version already installed. Install the upgrade and enter your upgrade serial number. The installer will detect the earlier qualifying version already installed and the upgrade will finish installing. That is not your scenario.
    The second option (and easiest on new computers with no Adobe software previously installed) is to simply install the latest version (usually an upgrade) and enter your upgrade serial number. That's what you've done so far.
    The installer will look for an earlier version already installed on your computer. If it cannot find one, it will prompt you to enter the serial number from an earlier version. Once you enter the earlier qualifying version serial number, the upgrade installer will complete the installation. If you cannot find an earlier version serial number then the upgrade will not be licensed and will go into trial mode. From there you can use it for 30 days until it will no longer launch.
