How does this program work???

My Mac Powerbook G4 has GarageBand 3.0.4, which I have not yet used.
Now I want to create a file which has one track entered from an aifc file
(converted from Sibelius 4 with Wire Tap Pro). Once I have this as a GB
file, I want to overlay a second vocal track. Haven't a clue how to do this.
Help, help! James Johnson, Plattsburgh NY

Thanks very much for the nudge, and I'm beginning to get the feel of it.
One thing I don't quite "get" already: having created a real instrument track,
why is it necessary to select a sound? I selected basic male vocal of course --
haven't tried to record anything yet.
Also: if I have already installed the track which is my completely composed instrumental
of the song, why should I (or do I?) have to select a tempo and key? I am guessing that
I don't have to do that.
If you please, you can reply to me at [email protected] JJ

    Hi,
The drivers for your device are available through Apple Software Update.
Follow the steps below to install and find out how to use it on your OS:

  • How does this program group and cluster these button values into an array?

In the attached program, there are 6 buttons in a cluster and 1 individual button. These buttons control a bunch of different relays to control power to different components of a single device. Right now the program works in that I can control the 6 buttons, the LED turns on in the board and the power is being transmitted. What I do not understand is how it is doing this.  I ran the program with the highlight execution on and at the start of the read from array component, if say I pressed button 6 and hit ok, it reads #6, where did these get defined and labled? and if i wanted to add another button/relay how do i do this? If someone could explain step by step how this is grouping the relays on the board into an array and then controling them I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

The #6 your seeing is the number of elements in the array not a value for the array.
Now for some deeper explainations.   From the code it appears that exactly 1 of 6 valves may be used and an additional valve may be in one of two possible states.
When the program is run the cluster of buttons is initiallized to all False.  and we enter the outer while loop where a sequence structure starts.  In the first frame of the sequence we initiallize a shift register to hold the current value of "Buttons." and this loop runs unthrottled (Add a wait for next ms multiple to this loop to prevent using 100% of the CPU!)
For each iteration the buttons are read and if a change has occured to any value buttons that were previously True are reset to False to prevent opening more than one valve.
When the user presses OK or stop- the current "Buttons" value is passed to the next frame.  This frame convertsthe 7 boolean values to a integer where each valve is controlled by a seperate bit of the integer (Isolation is bit 6 and bits 0-5 each control a mixing valve)
Now I'd strongly recommend reworking the DAQmx calls- it is pointless to initiallize the task each time you want to use it- Create the task in the initialzation case and wait until the user exits to destroy the task.  And well a sequence structures are frowned on- (there are better ways to do this)
As far as adding a relay- right now the relays are associated to the hardware by their index position in the cluster (element 1 = bit 0 etc....) to add a new valve you would need to decide what bit you would use to drive it and code in that bits' value to write a 0 in that bit.  (hint the 40 constant is realy 0x40 right-click>visable items>show radix )
Let me know if you need further elaboration

  • HOW DOES THIS FORUM WORK?

I'd be interested to know how this forum works - are there any moderators who read the posts.  I posted earlier today regarding a problem I have on my printer - it hasn't even been viewed.
Quite frankly I'm feeling extremely let down by HP recently.  I've always been an HP printer fan but I'm starting to wonder if it really is worth ALL my time and effort - Epson reviews next on th list!!!!

    Cook book techs.
Follow a logic tree and hope that the questions asked were for the actual problem. The real problem is that words mean things and if we each have our own meaning.
Freeze--- 5 minutes I see no change? 10 minutes? 2 days later the computer has not done anything?
Hangs up - - no change in 5 minutes? no change in 10 minutes? no change in 30 seconds? 2 days later the screen is different it turned it's self off.
hesitates - - no change in 30 seconds, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 2 tv shows later there is something different.
I am a patient person. Hesitates no change 30 seconds; hangs 2 tv shows later; and freeze 2 days later. Some one else may react differently 2 seconds for hesitates, 30 seconds hangs, freezes 31 seconds.
So the cook book teck may ask whats your problem give you 4 answers to choose from. And each of us may give different answers from our unique prospective. Me it was hangs up where the same problem may be a hesitation or a freeze to another. Of course then the teck decides to enter another answer cos she don't think you know what you are talking about....

A JPEG file is read from disk and written to a picture indicator (Read JPEG File and Draw Flattened Pixmap). The size of the rectangle (right and bottom items of the cluster) is checked to make sure that it is greater than zero. This is done by converting the cluster to an array and the Less or Equal function creates an array of Booleans for each comparison. The array of comparison results is ANDed together to verify that all elements are not TRUE (each element is not less or equal to zero). If each element is not less than or equal to zero, the size of the picture indicator is set to the same size as the JPEG file. If any element is less than or equal to zero, then the size of the picture indicator is set to a default width of 50 and height of 50.

  • Hard drive caddy - T61 - How does this thing work?

I have a 200gig hard drive on my T61.  Since my computer has died twice in a year I want to have a cloned hard drive handy to insert and not miss a beat and not fuss with reinstalling everything.
When I bought the machine I also bouht a hard drive caddy...
    http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:item.detail?...
I bought a SATA 500 gig hard drive and inserted this into the hard drive caddy.
I inserted the caddy into the CD drive area.
    Now what?
When I click on "My Computer" I do not see the drive listed?
Do I need special software to make a clone of my hard drive on here?   Recommendations?
I thought Lenovo had one that came with it, but I do not see anything?
Should "My Computer" see this drive with the caddy?
    All advice greatly appreciated!!

Good advice, same as the Lenovo Tech support.  Unfortunately it does not see the new drive there either...
    Right clicked My Computer
    Manage
    Disk  Management
    (Only C: drive shows)
This is the way to initialize drives, a step before cloning apparently to set up a new drive.
I ordered a SATA to USB cable from Amazon for $28.  Hopefully this will work were yet another Lenovo periferal has failed.
Very frustrated with Lenovo, definitely my last one.  After buying 3 in a year from Lenovo even with a warranty all I get is attitude from customer service.  One guy told me that backing up was the same as cloning.
For anyone with the same problem trying to clone, I believe you will need a 3rd party software to make a clone.
    Norton Ghost - $70
    CloneZilla - Free
    1. Get Hard Drive
    2. Connect new hard drive
    3. Initialize new hard drive
    4. Get third party software
    5. Clone

    Welcome
These forums are mainly User to User with only limited interaction by Adobe staff, you caan tell Adobe staff because they will have the logo and "staff" displayed where you have your logo and "member" status.
For diect discusssion with Adobe you need to start up an online chat or telephone the number given in your country, you will more than likely end up talking to someone in the call centre in India........a tip if you do this, if at first you cannot get the response that you seek, ring off and ring back so you speak to another
Prior to posting in the forum (and do post your question in the software specific area) do a search for previous questions on the same subject and do read the FAQ's that give guidance on the information to provide..............you would not believe the questions asked such as...................Premiere is not working.................how can we help on that.
    Good luck

  • How does this forum works?

Forum members come up with suggestions and report defects all the time. But the question is: where does our suggestions and reports go? Will Sony looking to our discussion here and improve our phones with every update or we just talking to each other ?

@yasser4008 again, where do you get those numbers, the users that post here on the forum do NOT represent all the Xperia owners, think about this, the forum is for users to reach out for help, users that don't have any issues won't post here something like:
I don't have any issues with my phone, my screen is fine, etc etc

It is NOT lifetime, which support my claim that you are exaggerating.
Also, have you checked HTC, LG, Apple, Samsung, etc forums? I don't think you have, check what is the number 1 complain regarding phones breaking down, check what is the number one repair procedure.

                                GROUP BY fileid ) rt
         ON rt.fileid=mf.fileid)

    mf.total_tap_count-rt.cnt new_total_tap_count

  • How does this urls works!?

    any brainy!?

Oh sorry i though people can understand what I was trying to ask...
Actually how to create url systems like twitter and facebook, where the url seem to become a folder name like
    twitter.com/exoot
    twitter.com/adobe
where "exoot" and "adobe" are users name.
Are these made possible by creating index.php file at the folder like this?
    twitter.com/exoot/index.php
    twitter.com/adobe/index.php
Or theres other url caching methods which capture/cache the "exoot" and "adobe" string and fetch thee user data from the server.
But if they have to create such a folder system, it would be a large amount of file storing would be required and updating all the would be extreamly hard..
My question is how this possible if they didnt practise the  folder system i meantioned above... because i want to create such a system like
    exoot.100webspace.com/username
    instead of
    exoot.100webspace.com/page.php?id=username
where, by using the username I able to show the username's profile page by fetching mysql.
    thanks in advance

  • How does installing programs work when user folder moved to separate drive?

    Hi everyone
I have my user folder on a separate drive from my boot drive.
I have set up a new installation of OS X on a third drive and pointed the main account's user folder on that third drive to the user folder drive.
This means that the dock that shows up when I boot off that third drive contains aliases linking to programs on the ordinary boot drive.
If I install programs on the third drive and make aliases in the dock, will that cause a conflict when I boot off the ordinary boot drive?
And if I remove from the dock aliases linking to the ordinary boot drive, will they then disappear when booted off the ordinary boot drive?
    Thanks for any insight.
    /p

    I tried that.
    1) I created a standard user account called "Test."
    2) While logged in as Test I edited the sidebar. Then I logged out and back in again to confirm that the settings were retained. They were.
    3) While logged in as Test I copied the user folder from SystemDisk/Users/Test to DataDisk/Users/Test.
    4) I logged out of Test and logged in as Admin.
    5) I changed the home directory for the Test account to /Volumes/DataDisk/Users/Test.
    6) I deleted the directory at SystemDisk/Users/Test.
    7) I logged out of Admin and logged in as Test.
    8) I edited the sidebar. Then I logged out and back in again to see if the settings were retained. They were not.
    9) I repeated steps 3-7, this time moving the home directory back to its original location at SystemDisk/Users/Test.
    10) Again I edited the sidebar, logged out and logged back in again. This time the settings were retained, just as they had been before I moved the directory in the first place.
Since the functionality returns when I move the home directory back to the system disk, I've concluded that it is not due to any corruption of library files or such. It seems to be a problem with the location of home directory.
V.K., in your configuration, is the account with the moved home directory an Admin account or a Standard account? I have not tested this with an admin account and I suppose that might make a difference.
