How doI share a book to my wife's iPad in iBooks?

My wife and I have separate iTunes accounts. In the past, I could download a book on my iPad. If my wife were interested in the book, she could sign on to my account and download the book (she knows my password, and vice versa).
Now I get a message that If I switch to another account I can't switch back for 90 days. I don't understand the implications of doing that (we also do the same for apps as well).
Can someone explain what the message means?

It clearly makes no sense to pay twice for a family member to read the same book. The Apps store allows us to share apps and we can each authorize the other's Macs to share iTunes content.
The issue is not sharing personal data - she can log onto my account whenever she wants, and I can log onto hers.
If I understand the message, and it would preclude her from accessing her account for 90 days, then I find that unacceptable.
I can buy the same books from Amazon at the same price and we can share books in the same way.

  • How do I copy a book from my wife's iPad to my iPhone?

I purchased a book using my wife's iPad and would like to move a copy to my iPhone. How does one do that?

If her iPod is set up to sync automatically with iTunes, then simply configure the iPod so that the track is removed from the Shuffle during the next sync operation.  For example, if the iPod is configured to only sync selected tracks, then make sure the track you wish to remove doesn't have a tick mark next to it in your main iTunes library.
If you manually manage the iPod's contents, you must manually move the song from the iPod via iTunes.  Plug the Shuffle in, and then click on the small black triangle next to it's device name from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes to open up a submenu.  From there click music.  Locate the track you wish to delete. Highlight it and hit Delete or choose Edit -> Delete.

  • How can I share iBooks or Kindle books on my wife's iPad with my MacBook Pro?

I was told that I could share books purchased on my wife's IPad Mini (IOS 7.1) on my MacBook Pro (OS 10.9.4) in some way, but I can't see how to do it.  I've tried logging out of my iBooks account, for example, on the Mac, and logging in to her account, which is what they said to do, but that doesn't work.

Can't help with the iBooks issue (sounds like you tried the right thing) but for Kindle, you need to download "Kindle for Mac" from Amazon and log into the same account that your wife uses. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=kcp_mac_ln_ar?docId=1000464931

  • How to share photo books online

How can we share photo books created in iPhoto so others can buy the same book?

Duplicate your iPhoto library and delete all events, that are not needed for the book from the copied iPhoto library (don't forget to empty the trash). Then copy the second library with only the photos for the book to a USB stick and send your friends or family the stick.
Format the stick to MacOS Extended (Journaled) before you send it.

  • How to share address book on Zimbra?

Sorry if this is an FAQ.
How can I share my address book(s) with others?
    I tried the blow:
    1) right click on an address book to be shared and select "share address book".
    2) enter user's email address who I like to share the address book with, and cllick "OK".
    3) The user receives a notification mail re: address book share.
However, nothing happens at the user's Zimbra. I expect that this user can see the shared address book in his/her address book list, but he/she can not.
How can the user see the shared address book on Zimbra?

  • How do I add Books tab in library on iPad.

How do I add Books tab in library on mac iTunes. I m using mac iTunes version 11.1.5 and I could not find books option in its preferences. I have .pdf file to add in.
I managed having Books option in Devices << my iPad but I cannot manage to have in library. Also I went through app on my devices and I could not find iBooks app.

Okay so I have that option in tabs up to the right. However, I cannot find option to add a book to sync. I am attaching screenshot. First screenshot is for a book that I want to add and second screenshot is where I dont able to add book to. Also ignore the book that appears in second screenshot. But because there is no books in Library sidebar in the same place where you can see Music and Movies are the only options I have, and if I have books option there then definitely I can sync. so thanks for trying but I am still looking for a solution...

  • How does "Find iPhone" work for a wifi-only iPad?

My wife's iPad is in out home on a satellite internet connection, in the country, connected to our router which assigns it an internal IP address. Yet when I log into Find iPhone from my iPhone, it shows up right inside the house most of the time, within 200' or so other times. Now the "circle of uncertainty" is larger then my wife's iPhone, it's still pretty accurate given the way it's connected. This baffles me.
    Thanks,
    Gamma

That doesn't answer HOW the database determined the router location to begin with./message-abuse!input.jspa?objectID=28092111&objectType=2
It does – the OP is using multiple iOS devices, the iPhones have GPS which is used to submit data to Apple via the diagnostics & usage. It may also come from other iOS users who have the same feature enabled.

I suspect the reason that your cellular iPad is getting accurate locations is because your modem is broadcasting a wifi access point. IP's are a poor indicator of location, despite what CSI tells you
That access point will be added to Apples database. Your iPhone has a setting that will help with this… 'Settings > General > Usage > Diagnostics & usage', if Automatically send is enabled then you are reporting anonymous data to Apple, including the location of the networks you use, the same network that is in range for the iPad. Apple is using iOS to crowd source the data.
Not true at all.  A cellular iPad also has a GPS receiver and it obtains location information from GPS.  GPS signals are separate from and completely unrelated to both the Internet and the cellular telephone network.  GPS signals come directly from the GPS satellites.  They provide signals that allow GPS receivers to calculate latitude and longitude information.  Software inside the device translates latitude/longitude into landmark information, such as street addresses.
I was referring to the GPS on the iPhone.
I know how GPS works thanks, I can see 4 satellites in this hemisphere, the others are out of view
I was also assuming this was a wifi iPad (no cellular, no GPS) - hence the reason for the original poster surprise. However I may have simply read 'wife's iPad' as 'wifi iPad'?

  • How to share internet connection using 5G wifi/channel 36~48

I'm using a 15 inch late 2013 MacBook Pro with retina display running 10.10.1 and iPhone 5S A1530 running iOS 8.1.
I use an Apple thunderbolt to ethernet adapter at work for internet and it's all cool and fine.
The problem comes when I try to share the internet connection with my phone through wifi. It's alright if I use channel 1 to 11. But when I try the 5G channels: 36, 40, 44, 48, it just doesn't work. The wifi icon in the top right corner of my screen has a wave animation and then nothing. It just goes back to grey instead of an arrow pointing upwards. In the slimmest hope of a display error, I search nearby wifi signal with my phone and nothing.
I have a 5G router at home and both my laptop and my phone can connect to its 5G signal. So the hardware should be fine.
It's weird since it should be working as Apple decided to put an option there for user to choose from all the channels, among which lie the four 5G channels.
So to conclude, my laptop with a functioning 5G wifi module can share internet connection through 2.4G wifi but not 5G.
Hope someone could help me with it. Thanks.

I've turned on NAT and attempted to create a new Subnet using DHCP but it doesn't offer me Airport in the network interface menu (only en0 and fw0). Airport is turned on in network system prefs.
Have you actually configured the AirPort network with its own IP address settings (in a different subnet from the wired ethernet port)?
Having the interface enabled isn't enough to make it a viable gateway interface. It needs an IP address/subnet mask too.

  • How doI sync my iPhone/iMac iCal with my iPad 2 iCal?

My calendar on my iPhone 4s and my iMac sync with each other wirelessly, however my calendar on my iPad2 does not sync with either of them.  Is there something that I should be doing to ensure that the 3 devices sync with one another?

        gspielman,
Help has arrived to assist you with getting those contacts on both your devices. The Verizon cloud service is definitely a great tool to use and you can also use Apple iCloud as well. When you sign into the Verizon cloud on your iPad does it give an option or message to restore?
