  • How do I download my music onto another computer, when I no longer have the music on another computer, ipod, or any other storage device?

Just as it says: How can I download music again that I have already bought and downloaded once on another computer?
I no longer have the music on another computer (I no longer have the original computer) and the only other place I put the music was my Ipod that I lost. (Im sure its somewhere in my house, but can't seem to find it)

Whether you can re-download your past music purchases will depend upon what country that you are in. On the iTunes store home page on your computer there should be a Puchased option under Quick Links on the right-hand side of it - go into that and see if music is an option for re-downloading

  • How to transferring Music to another iPod?

I am currently traveling and store my music on my iMac G5 - I copied all our music (50GB) onto a 60GB iPod to have. I have since added music via my 12" PowerBook to the 60GB iPod. I want to transfer some of the music from 60GB iPod to my son's 30GB video iPod (brand new). The iTunes sees both iPods. I have a created a playlist on the 60GB iPod with the songs my son wants. I cannot drag and drop from the 60GB iPod to the the 30GB iPod or the ITunes library on the 12". I have set up the sharing features in both iPods. Is it possible to drag and drop like I want to do? Or is there another process?

Authorise your sister's laptop to your apple id and then try syncing

  • How to move music to correct user

One child downloaded Dad's CD's into child's user. Child later received his own mini. Have a total of 5 users and 3 have ipods so far.
Is it advisable to have separate libraries or to share music, or to create different playlists?
Advise appreciated in advance - am mom with no ipod whom everyone looks to to solve issue!

    Hello,
I've gone over this page several times - It doesn't
indicate how to move music to another user. For
instance, would I copy the itunes folder to the
rightful user, or would I click File and Add a Folder
    to the rightful user?
    THANKS!
Doesn't really make any difference. If the user has access to the files where they are, then you can just add them to iTunes. If not, you can copy them to that user or give him access.
Simplest way is to just put all the files in one location on the computer where everybody will have access to them. Saves space and such. Then change each user's iTunes "Library Location" so that when they rip CD's, the music is put in that single location.
Every user has his own "library", but the library is more like a link to the files, not the files themselves. Follow me?

  • Giving purchased music to another user?

I'm posting this here because Apple tech support has apparently given up trying to help me.
My wife and I recently split up. Over the years, we've purchased a decent amount of music through the iTunes store. We also shared an iTunes account. Maybe you can see where I'm going with this...
Along with all our other belongings, we're trying to split up our music. I'd like to "give her" her music so that it will work on her computer. And no, I don't want to authorize her computer for my account. I dont want to keep a copy of her music. I just want to give her what's hers.
Had we purchased our music on CD, this would be simple. Surely Apple can figure out a way to accomplish the same thing with digital music. But they can't. Or rather, they don't want to try.
I've emailed tech support and received basic (and irrelevant) copied-and-pasted instructions on how to transfer music to another computer. When I pressed a little further for a solution that would work for me, I received this response:
"We are working quickly as possible to handle each request in a timely matter due to a increase in requests. We will contact you as soon as we find the correct solution for you."
    That was 6 weeks ago.
When I sent a follow-up email 2 weeks ago, I got the same copied-and-pasted response about transferring music to another computer.
If anyone is still reading this, I ask: Has anyone else in this situation gotten a good response from Apple? (And no, I'd rather not burn each track to a CD and let her re-import it.)
    Thanks.

    Can't be done.
When you purchase a song, the account info it was purchased with is embedded in the song file by Apple when you compete the purchase and download it.
(And no, I'd rather not burn each track to a CD and let her re-import it.)
Sadly, this is the only way you will accomplish it.
Since you don't want to authorize her computer (I wouldn't) with your account, the easiest way to give her "her" songs would be to burn them onto an audio CD and delete them from your computer.
After you burn a CD, leave it in, select it in iTunes and go to menu Advanced -> Submit CD track names.
Then when she inserts the CD into her computer, iTunes will read the track info from the Gracenote database and correctly tag her songs.

  • HT1451 How do I download my music from my iphone to another itunes library account on my computer?

Hi, Can anyone help, the music on my iphone was loaded from a itunes library that I no longer have access to.  Does anyone know how to download the music from my iphone to a new itunes library account on my computer?

yeah... that's just bad advice because it simply doesn't work that way.
iPhones like all iDevices are designed to sync to one and only one computer.
Please refrain from giving incorrect advice.
To the OP, a simple search of the forums or a little reading in the User's Guide would have provided the correct steps on how to get the music purchased via iTunes onto another computer without deleting it off the device.  FYI, it has nothing to do with the device or connecting it to another computer.  Simply copy the files from the original computer to the new computer, or redownload them on the new computer.

  • Why when I try to re download my music it says this device is already associated with another device and I have so many days to re download my music back? How do I get around this and get my music back?

Why when I try to re download my music it says this device is already associated with another device and I have so many days to re download my music back? How do I get around this and get my music back?

It is telling you that the device has been associated with another Apple ID. Once an Apple ID has been associated with a device, there is a 90-day waiting period before another Apple ID can be associated with that device. Here is a Support Article that explains the 90-day waiting period:

How can I download music from another computer's music library to my ipod without losing my own music?

You'll want to enable Manually Manage Music and Videos. Once you do that you'll be able to drag and drop the music from the computer to the iPod.

  • How do I synch / download my music in the cloud to my ipad?

I have a music library currently backed up in icloud.  I am wanting to download the music to my ipad (synch it) so that I do not need to be connected to wifi or cell service to listen to the music.  I have adequate storage space however I cannot figure out how to synch the music.  Itunes on my pc doesn't seem to allow this?  Seems to always just allow me to download each song from the cloud as I want to listen to it vs. allowing a mass download.  Also most of the music is content that I uploaded vs. purchased from itunes.  All is in the cloud however cannot synch any of it to ipad.
    Help please.  Thank You!

The right way to consolidate your music is to copy it from one computer to another. You can copy music from an iPod classic though:
How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329
When the music is all in the same library, sync the Touch.
You will still need to authorize your computer to play purchased music. For that, use the Apple ID that was used to purchase it.

My iTunes library is constructed entirely of uploaded music cds. How can I transfer this music to another mac (I'm replacing current macbook)? Eventually, I will begin using itunes to download / purchase music. Do i need to transfer original library before updating itunes library on the cloud? What's order of operations?

    From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
