How easy is Ghost Armor or Zagg to install without getting liquid IN the phone?
I am looking at getting the ghost armor for my iPhone (en route from China) and I am a bit nervous about putting on the front piece using a liquid activator. I am worried about getting liquid in the "ear hole". The only liquid that my iPod Touch has seen is a bit of rubbing alcohol to clean the screen with (works great -evaporates fast) every couple of weeks.
Anyway, can anyone tell me how easy, or hard, it is to install ghost armor or invisishield yourself? I saw invisishield has a booth at a local mall, but I just don't trust them with my phone and liquid - that is why I am considering doing it myself.
It is very simple to put on and the amount of liquid you use is very minimal and it is also a very fine mist. Its not like your soaking your device or leaving it sit in a liquid. I have put it on 8 different iPod touches, 3 droid phone and 4 blackberries with absolutely no problems. I would highly suggest it. Someone else said it is gummy---completely wrong!! When you take it off you can't even tell that anything was ever there and I know this because a sharpie marker opened in my bag and got green ink ALL OVER my iPod touch(among a few other things), I just peeled off the invisible shield tossed it in the trash and purchased another one to put on. Had it not been for that protection my iPod would of been destroyed. Honestly they make this stuff idiot proof and there is no reason to be scared. Very simple installation and I highly doubt Apple would sell it if it was going to damage the electronic upon installation. In my opinion the things that can happen to it without it on are MUCH GREATER, one small drop and you have a cracked screen with this stuff I don't worry.

I'm sorry to hear your screen is cracked spence425. I know its difficult to use the phone while its damaged. I'm happy you are receiving a replacement device. Have you saved any of your pictures and other data to the cloud? Here is a link about the cloud http://vz.to/1mF0GIx . Unfortunately, you will be unable to remove any data from the phone if the screen is unresponsive but if you are looking to transfer data to your new phone, it would have needed to be saved via the cloud first. Keep us posted.

I need to back up and sync multiple iPhones to a single iMac. Each iPhone has a separate Apple ID and the data from each iPhone needs to be backed up separately from the others. How can I do this without getting all of the contacts, etc. mixed? Tnx

You can only transfer photos from the Camera Roll. Photos in other albums had to come from your computer to begin with and should still be there.

Your computer is reading the messages from the iCloud server, so deleting messages from your Mac will delete them from the server. (The messages are cached on your Mac for offline reading but it's still the case that deleting them will delete them from the server.)
If you uncheck 'Mail' in the list in System Preferences>iCloud then the messages will disappear from your Mac, but will remain on the server - of course if you do that you can no longer access any messages on iCloud at all. -

Open the music app and select the Songs view. Swipe your finger to the right along any song and then press the red Delete button that appears.

If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
Alternatively, place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device. -
How do I set up a new apple ID without losing data off one phone?
I have two iPhones (5) with one Apple ID. My husband updated his phone to iOS8 last week and I did mine today but it looks like we have to set up separate Apple ID's in order for the phones to work properly.
General > Privacy > Location Services (off for now) > Share My Location <-- it's in here that it keeps showing his phone and not mine. I keep setting to my phone but it keeps reverting.
I also have an issue compounded to this - My Apple ID for some odd reason is set up to use HIS phone number and not mine. I can't seem to change that anywhere in the settings on the Apple site. Help here would be greatly appreciated.
The My Support Profile page will not let me update any of my device info. Hitting the save button just shows the 'working' circle graphic and it never actually stops and saves.
So, it seems that I need to create a new Apple ID for the other phone line and I am unsure how to do it.
Where on the phone I need to change do I log out of the one ID in use?
Should we start on Apple.com and create it all there first? Then log into the phone? I am going to assume yes.
Same for iTunes - get Apple ID and then log into iTunes. That one is a 'no brainer'.
So, once the new ID is taken care of and set up, how does he not lose any of his current apps and music? Will it all be there or will he have to set up his phone all over again as if from new? What about all the purchased apps in iTunes he's bought with my ID?

I'm pretty sure if I need to use Find My Phone I can log in from any device into that stupid cloud as long as I have activated it on the phone first. Sometimes I do use that method when traveling but not for daily use.
We can share our iTunes products easily between the phones on both the computers.
I don't trust the cloud. You may feel free to do so but I won't and I won't buy a basic phone because of my mistrust. Although the stupid cloud claims your data is secure or encrypted etc, it's a database. Period. One giant database and SOMEONE has to have access to the information UNENCRYPTED to manage, restore etc. There ARE master users or whatever you want to call them and I'm sorry, I just don't trust. I also have a stalker and because of that I am extra cautious. Don't worry, he's already facing two felony charges and trying to worm out of a jail sentence.
My cell phone and internet provider promised me security and my email addresses have been sold to the highest paying spammer and I get HUNDREDS of spam emails daily. For the first two years I was spam free. Didn't even see that crap in my junk folder but the last 5 years it's increasing daily. Now how does that happen? Unscrupulous employees is my guess. Especially since I do not use my regular email address for things I know will generate spam. I'm very cautious of my privacy online. Very.
Thank you for believing iCloud is safe but you did hear about all those celebrities whose photos were hacked and stolen from iCloud, didn't you? THIS is (one of many reasons) why the cloud can't be trusted. -
I saw an advertisement in a car magazine for an app that would provide gauge read outs available for download from the app store. So I went to the app store, found the app, downloaded and installed it. I then purchased the Bluetooth OBD hardware adapter required to transmit the data from the car to the phone. The adapter has to be configured for the app to communicate with it. This is an apple approved app. But everything I've read says that apple will not allow iPhone owners to make any adjustments to their Bluetooth addresses. And that iPhone only provides Bluetooth connectivity to basic head sets speakers and audio formats through the car stereos ( but no audio streaming).
Bottom line, apple approved app and hardware that can't be configured unless I perform a jailbreak? I don't want to JB the phone but it seems that apple has left me with no other options. I've already invested time and money on this software and hardware. Their must be a legitimate way to use this apple approved software. Does anyone know how to adjust/configure bluetooth settings/addresses?Generally, if you have to enter a code for bluetooth, your iPhone will ask you to enter a 4 digit code when pairing. Check the instructions for the device you are trying to pair with your iPhone. The instructions should give you the code in the pairing instructions, if a code is required.

I was using help from apple to correct a software problem which they were able to fix but somehow i got thousands of pictures moved from my macbook pro over onto my phone. I am not able to delete them from my phone as i can only see edit but i can't find an option of delete or trash to use to get rid of them. For some reason there are pictures there that are not even mine that i desperately would like to get off my phone but can't figure out how to delete when they are in albums and large quantities. I know how to delete when they are on camera roll as the trash can appears at the bottom of the picture. Please help me so i don't have to go back for support tomorrow on the phone. I was on for hours today. . .but they did fix my original issue.. i just can't figure this one out.
