How edit saved draft in Mac Mail?

In Mail 7.0 under OS X 10.9, I have a message I was composing saved in:
On My Mac > Drafts (Gmail)
How do I open it for editing?
No, it does not work just to click that item in the sidebar and then double-click the message in the right pane's list of messages (where it's the only one in this group)! When I do that, I cannot edit the message.
Surely there's a way -- a wayI hope that's  somewhat more elegant than selecting and copying the entire body of the message, then starting a new message and pasting what I copied into the new one.

I am pretty sure that this is not an option within Apple Mail.

i cant figure out how to sign out of mac mail ?

Mail menu, select Quit Mail.  If that fails, check the Window Menu, Activity Viewer to see if it needs to stop being busy.  If it is frozen, and you aren't reading or composing a meesage, click on
    command-option-escape to force quit it.
Otherwise wait for it to finish doing its tasks.

If your college provides wither POP 3 or IMAP access to your account. How do you access your e-mail now?

You need all of those - no one here can provide them - your college network administration will have them and will give them to you IF they allow access to their mail server by outside programs
Account type is either POP3 or IMAP - incoming mail server could be anything and varies depending on the account type - same with other required information

  • How to disable syncing between .Mac mail and Mail.app?

    Howdy everyone,
I'm trying to get my wife's 'new' (aka hand-me-down) 12" PowerBook set up the way she likes it. She uses .Mac Mail, and mostly uses the webmail portion, rather than the Mail.app. Anyway, she's presented me with a question that's stumped me - she wants it set up so that when she deletes a message from .Mac webmail, it stays in her Mail.app Inbox, and vice-versa. I guess you could say that she wants Mail.app to retrieve the messages from .Mac, but doesn't want their mailboxes synced.
Any ideas? I'd fiddled with the settings but can't make it work that way. I have a strong feeling that its right in front of me, but I just can't see it...
    Any help would be great!
    Thanks,
    Huxley

A .Mac type account with the Mail.app is really an IMAP type account and behaves in the same way.
Personal preference but FYI, webmail access is primarily designed when away from your computer and email client needing to access your email account when using a computer with internet access that is not your own.
For what your wife wants, she needs to access her .Mac account as a POP type account with the Mail.app. You can access a .Mac account as a .Mac, IMAP or POP type account with the Mail.app and as an IMAP or POP type account with other email clients.
This will require deleting and recreating the account in Mail selecting POP as the account type when the account is recreated.
All messages that remain on the server will not be affected by this but any messages sent by the account with the Mail.app that are not stored on the server will be deleted when deleting the account in Mail.
If there are any messages in the account's Sent mailbox that need to be saved, transfer all messages from the account's Sent mailbox to a user created "On My Mac" location mailbox before deleting and re-creating the account.
After re-creating the account in Mail as a POP type account, go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Advanced tab for the account preferences is a setting for removing messages from the server when downloaded. This should not be selected so no messages will be removed/deleted from the server when downloaded by Mail.
Deleting a message from the server via webmail access for the account will have no effect on messages already downloaded from the server by Mail.

  • How to unlink emails in mac mail

Hi does anyone know how to not link all emails togethether that go to the same email address in the new Mac Mail? for some reason if I forward an email to another person it adds all the emails regarding the same subject to that person. that could compromise other people email address's and possibly their security. any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi frogsurf
Actually, it sounds like your issue is quite different - you're trying to check Hotmail via the web; the original poster wanted to use Apple Mail.
Let me double-check which version of OS X and browser you're using. Your signature says 10.0. If that's true, and if you're using Internet Explorer, it's understandable that Hotmail no longer works - that's a very old system and browser which will definitely not support today's rigorous security.
If you really do have OS X 10.0, you should upgrade to a newer system such as 10.3 or 10.4.
If you actually have a newer system, try using either Safari or Firefox to connect to Hotmail. Internet Explorer is really no longer recommended for anybody, now that there are far better browsers available.

  • How can i set up mac mail to allow read emails on hotmail from online to show as read when i open the mail program?

i use the default mail program on my macs to read my mail. my main account is hotmail. i also read my mail from my iphone, ipad, and internet while at work.  I have been able to sync the internet version of hotmail and my iphone to sync so that if i read a message, it is marked as read on my iphone and vice versa.  however,  i cannot get the sync to function with the mac mail program. when i open the program it still marks all the messages as unread, despite them already being open and read from either the internet version of hotmail, or from my iphone. does anyone know any ways to fix this? thank you

On the Internet Accounts System prefs choose Add Other account…
    Pick Mail account.
On the first page where you enter username and password, hold down the Option key and the Create button will change to Next. Click that with Option held down.
You can then manually create the account.

  • How do I get my Mac Mail signature to be single spaced close together and not what looks like a double space?

I am using Mac Mail on Mac Air  with 10.10.  I have a multi line signature but it looks double spaced and I can't get it to look like a single spaced signature.  I tried different fonts and sizes.
    Appreciate your assistance.

I Finally resolved my problem after much research. On my I pad 4 with retina in the field under settings there is a list to choose from-- ex. Aol,Google, yahoo, etc. I chose other and entered att. Used pw and bingo! Problem resolved. It is somewhat configured a little different; but at least I can get all of my 500 e mails.
apple takes IMAP but this is under pop And at least my persistence paid off. You would think something so simple would be informative to us in a better way.

  • How can I repair my mac mail after upgrading to OSX 10.8.2?

I've just upgraded my mac but it's messed up my mac mail.
I have 2 accounts - one hotmail and one webmail for my business account. Both accounts are working in terms of receiving emails but I cannot send from either account and have followed all the suggestions using help but still it's not working.
Checked there are no blocks from my ISP or via the firewall and both are clear.
Anyone out there had similar experiences and can suggest other ways to try and repair my mail.
    Many thanks.

thanks everyone for your suggestions. I've moved the entire default tool bar but still no icon for send appears - it isn't even in the default toolbar which is weird.
think that something has gone seriously wrong with the instal as I can now create a new email but when I hit send all the outgoing servers are grey and state offline even though when you click through into advance settings and I check the SMTP etc everything is correct - sigh.
can't believe it's taken me over 3 days now to try and do such a simple thing and with it being my work email aswell it's a right pain communicating with my photography clients.
anyway, mini rant over. thanks again I might consider just taking it off the mac for now.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.

  • Migrated to new iMac - how to retrieve old non-Mac mail?

I have been using an old MacBook Pro, but recently bought a new iMac. I used the me.com iSync (I think that's what it is called) to sync my Mail accounts to me.com, and then to sync with the new iMac. The Mac mail came over just fine ([email protected]) but I had several other accounts set up in Mail on the MBP - Yahoo, a few Gmail accounts, my web site's accounts, etc. None of the email messages came over. I get new emails on my iMac to these non-Mac accounts, but I would like to transfer over the old ones as well. I have tried to click "Get Mail" but it looks like this just gets new mail.
Is there a way on my iMac in Mail to retrieve old emails (including Sent emails) from non-Mac accounts? I keep having to go back to my MBP to find/reference old emails.

Reference Kappy's advice in method 1. I think this would do it for you.

  • HT2500 how can I automatically print mac mail attachments?

I've been using mac for a few years after many, many years of PC, I love mac but not knowing how to set my mail preferences to automatically print a message and its attachments is driving me crazy!! Can anyone help with a straight forward solution?
I usually have to print emails in bulk so having to stop and do attachments individually is really annoying.
    Thanks

I assume you mean, "print automatically the attachment(s) with the message". If so, then there is no such option, and for a good reason. Attachments can be anything -- would you like your printer to spit out reams after reams after reams of binary text because the message contained a compressed zip archive? (On second thoughts, maybe you own an ink cartridge manufacturing plant, and that's exactly what you want…)
What you probably have in mind is to print out image or PDF attachments with the message. In part, this depends on the message itself, over which you have no control; but, in most cases, if Mail renders the pic, it will be included in the printout. Give us some specific examples, and we might be able to suggest something. Don't forget to tell us which version of the OS and which e-mail client you are using. I assume it's Mail.app, Mac OS X's default, but…
