How far back does the safari history go

I need to go back to some sites I was working on over a year ago as I have lost my filofax with all my information in.  would it possible to find them as I can only seem to view up to 1 year ago

The amount of history Safari keeps is determined by the setting in the General tab of its preferences. If a backup of Safari's History file exists, it may contain older entries.

  • How far back does Time Machine back up?

How far back does Time Machine back up? Thanks.

Thanks Kappy and Tech Guy. I'll try and digest that info--it may take awhile!
Just for info, I am using a Lacie d2 500 GB, presently it has used 263 of the 500.
It is presently backed up until January 2010 which must be the date I hooked into Time Machine. I have a 1TB iOmega which I am thinking of using for the back up drive but feel the Lacie may be the better of the two so may leave it on.
    Thanks again. Cheers.

Does anyone know how far back spotlight will search for sms? Does it find sms from 6 or 7 months ago or does it only show more recent and if so any idea how recent. Does this differ in older phones or older IOS's.

  • How far back does history go in safari?

I found something inappropriate on my ipod touch which my young daughter was looking at in safari. When I look at history, it only goes back as far as yesterday. Does that mean someone has cleared the history?

That isn't documented anywhere that I can see, but the history on my iPhone goes back much further than one day.
If there is a ton of entries for yesterday, Safari may have removed some of the older history items. It likely has a fixed limit for the space it can use.
You can always restrict access to Safari on the iPod touch, see this Apple doc -> iOS: Understanding Restrictions (Parental Controls)

  • How long does the Safari history go back?

Does anyone know how long the browser history in Safari goes back/remains?
I know that one can clear the entire history if one wants to. But if one doesn't, do old entries go away either with the passage of time or with reaching some limit as to the number that can be kept at any time?

  • How far back is the MBP screen supposed to tilt back?

I just took my new MBP to the genius bar and they had to open it up. But now it feels like the screen tilts too far back. I don't remember how far it use to go before I took it and I would hate to take it again for nothing so I wanted to know if this is normal. It's about a 160 degree angle.

Thanks! That's just as far as I thought it used to go before, now it's a 160'. I'm going to take it to the genius bar today. Just have to figure out how to back it up.

  • How far back is the screen supposed to push back?

I feel like it never used to be this far back at this angle. Is anyone else having this problem or is it supposed to go back this far? it's like at an 160 degree angle.. as far back as I can push it.

Hi Insomnia: It's kind of difficult to see exactly from the picture, but I would say it is going back further than my MacBook Pro. Looks pretty much the same as all MacBooks or Pros I've seen.

  • How far back does a car loan show?

I got repo'd back in 1976, and bailed on a lemon in the middle '90's. Simply put, are auto loans ALWAYS there for lenders to see or find?

No. Negative information stays on your reports for 7 years plus 180 days. Positive trade lines will report for 10 years from the date the loan was closed/paid. You will be more than fine to apply and not worry about either of those past instances. Not exactly. It depends on what type of negative it is. For example late payments can report no longer than seven years from date of occurrence. Collections and charge offs can report no longer than 7.5 years from the DoFD (Date of First Delinquency) on the OC (Original Creditor) account that led to the collection or CO. Chapter 7 bankruptcies will report for 10 years. There is no one set time frame for negatives to stop reporting.

  • How Far Back Oracle Keep AWR Reports

    Hello,
    A quick question:
Does anyone know how far back Oracle retain AWR reports in the database? Is this something that we can customize? If it is, can someone offer some insights?
    Thanks!

The default settings for 'interval' and 'retention' are (60 min and 7 days respectively),
    Sample modification using,
    execute dbms_workload_repository.modify_snapshot_settings(interval => 120,retention => 20160);
the parameter value is in minutes.

  • How do you sort the safari  "Bookmarks Bar" bookmarks

how do you sort the safari  "Bookmarks Bar" bookmarks

Here is the workaround for sorting your bookmarks - you don't have to do it manually as suggested in the previous answer here. This is from a 2006 page at Hints.Macworld.com
"One thing that bugs me is that there is no option in Safari to alphabetize bookmarks. I had a crazy idea about how to accomplish this, and it seems to work. Hopefully I'm not missing something more obvious.
What I did was open the Bookmarks window (Bookmarks: Show All Bookmarks), put the links I wanted to alphabetize into a folder, and then dragged that folder into the Finder. The Finder alphabetizes the bookmarks; you can then just drag the folder back into the Bookmarks window. You probably have to set the Finder to arrange files by name before it will work. Hope this helps!
[robg adds: When you drag the folder back, you'll now have two folders, the original and the sorted one. Just delete the original, and you're set. You can also do this without first creating a Safari folder. Just select all the bookmarks to be alphabetized, drag them into a new folder in the Finder, open that folder (make sure it's set to sort by name or use column view), then drag the now-sorted bookmarks back into Safari's Bookmarks window. Again, you'll have duplicates, so just delete the originals (which will be grouped above the newly-placed list). I wonder if any of this is scriptable...]"
If you're like me and you like to keep all of your bookmarks in folders in the Bookmarks bar, then from the Bookmarks window you would open the Bookmarks Bar in a window of its own before doing the above.

  • How do I clear the browsing history on my iPad?

How do I clear the browsing history on my iPad 2?

Settings > Safari > Clear History (and Clear Cookies And Data if you want to clear them as well).
If you also want to clear your search history (i.e. the words/phrases that you've typed in the search box) then you may also need to close Safari completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
