How far do the MSI z87-G41's OC capabilities extend?

First off; hi! I'm new here, but not to forums or PC hardware. I'm active over at anandtech and THG, and some gaming forums.
My question relates to my brand new MSI z87-G41 PC Mate. I'm a bit new to overclocking but not without a clue, however I just can not get the motherboard to let me change any voltage or multiplier settings.
Main Board: MSI z87-G41
Bios Version: Don't know. One that came in the box.
Video Card: PNY GTX 770@1332Mhz
PSU:   Rosewill HIVE 550w. (38A, 456w)
CPU: i5 4670k
Memory: OEM 8GB (4x2GB) 1333Mhz 9CAS
SSD/ HDD: OEM Seagate 1.5TB 7200rpm. 4 years old
CPU COOLER: NZXT respire T40
Any Additional hardware plugged into your system: NAXT sentry 2 fan controller, OEM DVD burner, netgear w900 USB wi-fi stick
OC: Attempting
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
I am trying to increase the voltage just a tad as I am game stable at 4.2Ghz but not p95 or F@H stable. (stock 1.12v) I have a good cooler and voltage is low so I am looking to push to ~4.4-4.6Ghz. I'd been adjusting with the Intel Tuning Utility to get it to 4.2, but it doesn't change voltage.
TIA
EDIT: Oh. Looks like this belongs in overclocking. :|
EDIT2: Well don't I look stupid. I needed to use numpad +/- and not the ones near the 0 and backspace.  Nevermind then!

I tried multiple version of CCC, including old one and the new beta one, not one of them is working.
The card does show in the device manager but in a strange way : it is called in safe mod "Standard VGA" but if you follow those instructions :

Hello Mr. Sil3nt,
Thank you for your post. It is best to get your drivers from the hardware manufacturer, have you tried going to www.... ? You will need to know the make/model of your card in order to get the appropriate driver for your device. To do this, try the following:
Click 'Start' > Right-click 'Computer' > Select 'Manage'
Click 'Device Manager'
In the right pane, expand 'Display Adapters'
Below, you should see your video card, it may say 'Standard VGA'
Right-click this device and select 'Properties'
Select the 'Details' tab and scroll the bar to 'Hardware ID's'
You can then copy this info and put it into a web search that should yield results for your video card type.
From there, you can go to nvidia's website and download/install the latest driver for your card and operating system. Please let us know if this did or didn't help to resolve your problem.
Cheers

    which version it is exactly?
and have you flashed to this version when you got the board?
If so do you include BIOS+ME Update? [required] not sure the bios file was just downloaded and then flashed in the bios via USB. does the MSI bios include the +me as standard?
bios was updated because we believed that was the issue but same problem. the bios version is
    how many sticks are they?
have you tried with 1 memory stick only? then to see if reboot issue will persist
only 1 x 8 gb stick so not an option unfortunately
    you mean CL11? yes sorry
its weird when the computer is up and running its fine just doesn't reboot

  • MSI Z87 G41 PC MATE GRAPHICS CARD ISSUE

    Hey gus,
Yesterday I put together a new build, however I can only get integrated video to output to the monitor and not my discrete GPU. I have updated the bios to 1.4 from 1.2, made sure the GPU in question works (by trying on another machine) tried different cables etc etc. When I go into the BIOS I see there are two options for PEG and IGD modes. Default is PEG which is what it should be set to I would think. If anyone knows a fix for this issue please help! Thanks!
MOBO: MSI Z87 G41 PC MATE
    PSU: THERMALTAKE 600 WATT
    CPU; i5-4670K
    GPU: GTX 560

    >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<
Use option 1 pointed directly at the attached archive or run the bat file from pure dos.
    This is bios 1.4
Make sure this is your board prior to flash: http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z87-G41-PC-Mate.html#/?div=Driver&os=Win8.1 64
You will need to re-install the ME drivers after the flash.

  • How far will the extreme reach and how many users can be on there at the same time?

How far will the airport extreme reach and how many users can be on there at the same time?

Last question first, since that is the easy one......approximately 50 (fifty) users for wireless depending on how active each user might be.
The first question is much more difficult, as distance is not really the issue with wireless.....obstructions are the issue.
A wireless signal can easily travel 300 feet or more with no obstructions in the signal path.
But, a typical wall of sheetrock or wallboard in a home will absorb....on average....15-20% of the wireless signal. Brick or adobe will obviously absorb much more. A ceiling....because it is thicker....will absorb about 25-35% of the signal.
So, if the wireless signal must pass through several walls and a ceiling, there won't be much, if any, of the signal left....even though the distance that the signal travels is not great...for example, 20-25 feet.
Other wireless networks around you at the neighbors can also affect the relative strength of the wireless signal.
The bottom line....locate the AirPort Extreme where wireless devices will receive a signal with the least amount of obstructions in the signal path. Your actual performance cannot be predicted in advance. You will not know how well the AirPort Extreme works for you until you try it out in your home.
If you find that the signal does not reach as far as needed,  you will need to add additional "extenders", like an AirPort Express to provide more signal coverage.

  • How far outside the "38 cities" will 4G reach?

I'm primarily asking about West Lafayette.  I live about 3-4 miles outside of West Lafayette in the city of Lafayette.  Does anyone know how far outside the "city limits" the 4G access will reach?  If I am able to get 4G speeds, I'll hold off on upgrading until the 4G phones come out.  If not, I'll be upgrading at the end of the month.  Looking at Sprints 4G coverage maps, the service seems to reach pretty far outside the city limits.  I know it is different technology and different companies, but I was just curious how this would progress.
    Thanks

    Follow this link;  http://phones.verizonwireless.com/4g/
go to the map feature, and their is a zip code lookup available.  I live outside of Pittsburgh proper by about 25 miles, but my zip is included in the 4G coverage area.  Now I just need the phones to show up!!

  • WRT54G Question on how far does the signal reach?

Question on how far does the signal reach?
Like from the system box at home base, could you take the laptop what distance from it? Miles? Or jus a short distance? And what distance if anyone knows?

My 54G is at the far end of my house in my home office, 80+ feet away thru 4 walls I still get 25% signal, enough for a decent connection. Having an all wood construction house helps a bit. Once I was in my car out in the driveway (~90 ft) and it still worked OK.
I've got the bigger hi-gain antennas, not sure that they improve the range that much. I didn't really notice much signal gain going from the short ones to the tall ones.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    NO WAY!
The answer is about 14 BT Forum web pages and there's no way that you could get 14 to download in just 20 minutes so the answer is 14 BT Forum web pages and about 6 hours
One page, 700KB!!! Come on BT. Please stop taking the mickey!!

  • I need to know how far past the due date I can go

I lost my job and am able to pay half my bill today and the other half when my first check arrives. How far behind can you be, and do they warn you before they cut your service?

They will warn you before your service is cut off. Your best bet is to call and make a payment arrangement.

  • How far is the compatibility with PowerPoint and Keynote '09?

    Hello everyone
I love making presentations and strangely while I'm an Apple fan the only thing I still didn't convert to is iWork
Keynote is the best presentation tool I ever saw. The problem is with playing the presentations in college or anywhere else.
I know that keynote is compatible with PowerPoint, but how far?
Will the beautiful transitions and animations on keynote work on PowerPoint? Alongside with the beautiful graphics, charts and backgrounds?
    Thanks

I would say the compatibility is "just good enough". If you NEED to use it you will, but you don't want to ever NEED it.
You shoud think of the compatibility as being like trying to playback high resolution, color, widescreen, Dolby stereo content on a small black and white mono tv. There are some things that old telly just won't be capable of. Sure, you can see the motion and hear something, but you're ultimately limited by what you use to PLAYBACK the content, not what you used to CREATE it.
Because Keynote has features that PowerPoint doesn't, PowerPoint will never be able to playback exactly what you see in Keynote. The reverse is true as well.

  • How Far Does The Ejected Disc Come Out?

When you eject a disc out of your iMac, how far does it come out? Mine stops right before the middle circle. On my iBook it used to come out to about half way through the circle.
    Thanks,
    Scott

    HI Scott,
Mine ejects to the middle of the disk. My iBook does that same as yours. Nothing to worry about.
The idea here is to grab the disk from the inside circle and the outside circumference of the disk as to not leave fingerprints on the disk itself.

  • How far is the range...

how far can one stream iTunes to an Airport Express from an iMac (e.g., G4) with an internal Airport Extreme Card (Wireless Card Firmware Version: 404.2 (3.90.34.0.p16)). i can only go 20 to 30 feet from my computer. i'd like to stream through 3 rooms out to my backyard which is about 50-60 feet away. can additional airport expresses plugged into the wall function are bridges or signal boosters to get my stream outside? thanks JM
    1.25 GHz iMac PowerPC G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

In the open an Airport can stream to approx 150 feet (however that is a theoretical maximum and I suspect at a longer range there would be dropouts).
You can use additional Airport Express units to extend the range by configuring a WDS network.

  • How far can the Powerbook open up?

I am interested in getting a 17" Powerbook to use in our RV. If I mount it on the side of a cabinet and open it up how far will it open?

    Hello Benny
That's a really creative idea, congrats. With some more work (building some kind of custom frame), you may have a product idea that you can market.
As it is, though, I dont think it will work. The hinges on the PB are stiff enough to hold the display stable when it's in use, but they don't take excessive effort to open. I don't think they'll work if they have to bear the weight of the base - which is much heavier - instead of the display.
I think what you'd need is some kind of spring-loaded frame for the unit.
    Peace
    Greg

  • How to install the msi file for tax return

i am having problem installing the msi file.

The short answer is that they don't support anything but Windows.
    http://www.ato.gov.au/individuals/content.aspx?doc=/content/73931.htm
You would have to use Bootcamp and install Windows or install an emulator like Parallels and then install Windows into the Parallels emulator.
It probably won't do any good but you could file a complaint with them over their choice to only support Windows.

  • How far is the range of the Airport Extreme and how much does it boost your Internet speed?

We have a D-link wireless router, and it's worked fine for us, and covers the area around our house easily, but we have lots of other property too, though.  I was wondering, what is the range of the Airport Extreme?  Besides that,  I've seen some communities that say the Airport Extreme is  much faster than other routers, but since we have 1 MB per second Internet speed, would that affect speed much?  I also was thinking about getting it because we have a USB printer that we'd like to use with our macs, but it would have to be integrated to our network.  Our current router has a USB port on the back, but to connect, you have to use Shareport utility, and even then, you can only connect 1 device at a time.  It would be nice to be able to convert the USB signal to a network signal.

Hi - it is impossible to know what you are asking without knowing the model of the Dlink - this chart might help you compare - http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/lanwan/router-charts/view - as far as the printer is concerned, the USB port on the Extreme is designed for printers and hard drives - they are recognized when plugged in and seen on your computer so they can be installed - there is no extra utility involved - if you use a powered USB hub you can connect more than one device at a time - http://www.apple.com/airportextreme/features/printing.html - and I recommend that if you decide to try the Extreme that you know what the return policy is in case it doesn't work out in your situation.
