How far from perfection is this application?

There is to many breaks, the support is to slow, Adobe seems to enjoy to slowly fcuk their customers.
There is to many breaks in the production line.

The forum is generally the best place to initially ask questions, since fellow users can both provide answers and benefit from the discussion. The support team and development teams both monitor the forum, but the support team's first responsibility is to provide live chat support and the development team's first responsibility is to develop the product.
If you're not able to get a timely answer here, Adobe Muse Technical Support is available via chat here: http://helpx.adobe.com/contact/. Select product "Muse", then topic "Using my product or service", then click "I still need help..." to bring up the chat option and click "Chat Now."
As for making a sentence a link, select it with the Text Tool and then select the page to link to in the Hyperlink combobox in the Control Strip, or type the URL directly.
You're most likely to receive timely responses here to posts that include clear and complete descriptions of the design you're attempting to achieve or the bug you're encountering, along with the URL of the page(s) in question and screenshots of behavior in Muse, when appropriate.

  • Error-handling in PKGBUILDs is far from perfect

Hi, PKGBUILDs should die on failure, rather than just continue regardless of errors. Here's a little rant:
Why is it acceptable for ./configure to fail? Or make install to fail? Or the installation of just about any file? They could fail for lots of reasons, such as expecting a non-existent directory to exist, just being badly-written, or disk corruption, or running out of disk space. I see this lack of error-handling both in official packages and in the AUR.
Failing on an error is a fundamental part of programming, and BASH makes a mockery of it. And then Linux developers seem to get brainwashed by BASH into believing that mixing important and non-important errors together, then just ignoring all the errors, is an acceptable programming practice. It's not - it's a comedy of errors (excuse the pun).
SourceMage handles this problem by having one huge command constructed with && at the end of each line, so at least will fail on error.
Gentoo is using its custom die command more often these days (|| die), but my proposal is in limbo, presumably because "SpanKY" overrules every other dev (little bit of Gentoo politics there ).
The current practice of make || return 1 is correct, but || return 1 should be used far more often - example  (notice the looped use of install, and the annoyance of having to check $? after the loop). "More often" includes make install even if it's on the final line, both for consistency, and so it is not forgotten to be added when further lines are added to the end (e.g. to install the license/documentation files).
I'll place this on flyspray after a bit of feedback.
    Edit: I'll distro-hop instead.

I'm as guilty as anyone in this.  However, I always use it on the initial "configure" and "make install" lines where there is a lot of output.  I tend to miss it when installing individual files at the end (e.g. Licences, icons...) because I can see if they failed from the output.

The OS 10.6 Snow Leopard install DVD is available for $19.99 from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    and in the UK:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Check via Software Update whether further updates are required.
You should now see the App Store icon in iTunes, and you now need to set up your account:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4479
To use iCloud you have to upgrade at least to Lion, but some functions are only available in Mountain Lion:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759
You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:

  • I was updating Firefox from version 6 to version 7, after updating I tried to open Firefox and the message I got is this: This application has failed to start because xul.dll was not found. How can I fix this?

I was updating Firefox to the newest version 7.0.1 from version 6.0.2 I think it was, I clicked the restart Firefox button that always comes up after updating. It started updating and then Firefox never restarted like it was supposed to after it was done updating. I then tried to open Firefox and it told me "This application has failed to start because xul.dll was not found." I did have Firefox crash on maybe about 30 minutes or so earlier which bothered me because I have been using Firefox for years and never had it crash on me before but I didn't think much of it at the time it happened because I was able to go back onto Firefox and finish what I had been working on. A while later I checked for updates and updated. The first time I tried to update it didn't work though so I had to shutdown Firefox and reopen Firefox and start the update a second time. It was after the second time that when I tried to open Firefox I got that message about failing to start because xul.dll can't be found. I filed a crash report when my Firefox crashed. This would have been around 1am-2am in the morning that Firefox first crashed and then wouldn't allow me to open it after updating. I have a DELL laptop running the Windows XP operating system but the laptop is probably at least 6 or 7 years old. The laptop will no longer charge so I always have to have it plugged into an outlet. Both my laptop hard drive and my external hard drive give me messages that I am running out of disk space on my hard drive. I bought this laptop 6 or 7 years ago second hand so it could be even older. In short it's a piece of crap and it gives me all kinds of issues but I currently can't afford a new one, but I have never had any problems with Firefox and I use Firefox more than any other aspect of my laptop so it's really really bothering me. May you please help me fix it?

Unfortunately I tried that and it didn't work. Thanks for the help though. I tried to uninstall and it said I couldn't because the file is corrupt or something, but I think I finally got it uninstalled and/or deleted or whatever, but now I try to reinstall/download it again from the beginning and I can't. No matter what I do I can not get Firefox working again. No matter how many times I try to redownload it. Any other suggestions?

  • While installing a program (MediaCenter.exe) to handle audiobooks from the library, I erroneously associated the download site with Windows Media Player instead of the actual application (NetLibrary Media Center). How can I reverse/change this?

While installing a program (MediaCenter.exe) to handle audiobooks from the library, I erroneously associated the download site with Windows Media Player instead of the actual application (NetLibrary Media Center). How can I reverse/change this? Reinstalling the application does not clear the error, so I'm assuming the association is somewhere in Firefox.

Never mind -- I just found it under Tools/Options.../Applications, where I changed the incorrect association of "nlmcp" from Windows Media Player to the correct one, NetLibrary Media Center. Done!

Get rid of the tracking cookies. They are used to profile and track your browsing history. While they are privacy invading, by calling them spyware, MacScan is being a little dramatic in trying to sell you its crap. And in the future, for whatever browser you use, don't allow third-party cookies.
To prevent tracking, get Ghostery. In addition to having Ghostery and forbidding third-party cookies, I clear out all cookies from one browsing session to another. If you always do that, you won't have any tracking cookies to worry about, so you won't need MacScan to find them for you. Btw, MacScan finds the tracking cookies in the first few minutes of scanning; if you want to use it for that, then that's all the time you need to run it for. But, as I said, you won't have any tracking cookies around if you just remove all cookies and don't allow third-party cookies. As soon as you visit a site that needs them, you'll just get new ones. No problem.
    Read all about cookies here.

Hello.  I just upgraded to Lion OS X 10.7.3.  I was previously running 10.5.7 which included the ENTOURAGE application.  how do I retrieve needed information from this application that no longer runs on this new system?

The file you'll be looking for that has most of what you're looking for - messages, address book, etc. is the Entourage Database.  The verison of Microsoft Office I run (on Lion) is Office 2008.  By default the Entourage Database for this verison is at user/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2008 Identities/Main Identity/Database.  That folder (Main Identitty) also has your rules, signatures, and such.  You'll have to recover this file from whatever backup you have.  If you have a different version of Entourage, the file location will be a little diffferent.
    Good luck

I saw this on bitpipe.com web site. How far is this true? (search for ideabundle on this site and you can go to the actual website of Giga...)
Following is a QUOTE (ie. an extract)
"In this IdeaBundle, Giga Analysts look at the foundation of Oracles Application Server efforts from a number of perspectives, and find cracks in the seams.
Read this IdeaBundle to find out:
Why Oracles 9i OLAP services may frustrate existing customers
Why Oracles DBMS shows DBMS wont be a commodity any time soon
Why Oracle Portal should be approached with caution
Is Oracles iAS solution a thing of the past
What kind of customer would be best served by Oracles 9i Application Server"

  • How far should I upgrade from snow leopard

how far should I upgrade from snow leopard.  I just installed more RAM for a total of 4 GB.
    Thanks

Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion/Mavericks/Yosemite.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) model number 7,1 or higher
    Your Mac needs:
OS X v10.6.8 or OS X Lion already installed
2 GB or more of memory (More is better - 4 GB minimum seems to be the consensus)
8 GB or more of available space
Check to make sure your applications are compatible. PowerPC applications are no longer supported after 10.6.
    Application Compatibility
    Applications Compatibility (2)
    Do a backup before installing.
If you can/do upgrade, I recommend you make a copy of the installer and move it out of your Applications folder. The installer self-destructs. The copy will keep you from having to download the installer again.  You can make a bootable USB stick to install using this free program.
Bootable USB Flash Drive – Diskmaker X
If your computer isn’t compatible, you might be able to upgrade to Lion. Personal opinion, I'd stay with Snow Leopard rather than Lion.

  • HT204053 can I purchase from two different stores ie store in New Zealand and Store in Australia and  how do I sync updates on applications?  Do I have to switch ID's in my settings each time or is there an easier way.

can I purchase from two different stores ie store in New Zealand and Store in Australia and  how do I sync updates on applications purchased from either store?  Do I have to switch ID's in my settings each time or is there an easier way.  The trouble is I set up my appleid in new Zealand and so all icloud and itunes and app stores are under New Zealand Apple ID I have since moved to Australia. Im a real beginner at this stuff so bare with me pse.

I'm in the same boat as you -- except that I manage both a school lab (volunteer job) and macs in the enterprise (pay job).  What I think we need is the Education Volume Purchasing Program
    http://www.apple.com/education/volume-purchase-program/faq.html
Unfortunately this all seems a little rough around the edges -- for example, I have found updates for AppStore apps on the support.apple.com updates download site, but then when I install them via ARD they don't actually update the software.  (The AppStore icons still show as needing the updates, and the version info reports the old version.)  The documentation is also vague about which AppleID to use in which circumstance.  I think they just haven't finished thinking through the implications of the various procedures and policies upon the various kinds of customers.  When we deployed Mountain Lion on the school lab, we made an install usb and went around and installed it on each computer -- and it appears that you are on the honor system as far as paying for all of the licenses that you install.  We did!  But they appear to have no way to enforce it.
So far, I have only deployed 9 Lion macs in my day job, and our "solution" to the AppStore showing updates problem has been to drag the AppStore icon off of the users' docks so they don't see them!

  • How could u write this application?

write an application to read an unknown number of integer pairs representing binary numbers from a file redirected input from the command line. do not use sentinel value or prompt.
    1. Echo print in colums 1 and 2 the numbers that were read.
    2. Convert each number to decimal for columns 3 and 4.
    3. Count the number of 1's in the numbers for columns 5 and 6.
    4. Find the larger of the decimal versions of the first and second number of each integer pair, and print that number in column 7.
    5. Keep separate cumulative sum of the decimal versions of the first and second number of each integer pair, and print that number below the appropriate column after all numbers have been read.
    Sample output:
    10 11 101 1111 111 10000 101011 0
    thanks for your interest

    > hey young fella, its not a HW or something!! everyone
talks alot here like they know everthing(which they
aint gotta clue), i decided to put an easy
application to c how many people are going to be able
    to write this application??
That's a little tough to believe. It's far more likely that you need some help on figuring out how to go about writing such an application. There's nothing wrong with that; just know that most folks who volunteer to help here aren't particularly interested in "proving their skills" by way of programming "challenges". They typically get far more satisfaction by helping others learn Java.
i guess u r one those fellas who dont have a clue about java!!! b/c if u
were not, this would take ur 5-6 mins of time..
So, do you have a specific question regarding those requirements? If you do, please ask. If, on the off chance you've got some special insight regarding an implementation, post your idea and get some feedback from the community.
Also, please make the extra effort to write out words such as "see", "you", "are", "your", and "because". The extra keystrokes won't cost much in the way of time, and the enhanced clarity will be appreciated by those communicating on a forum with international readership. Also, it will give the appearance that you take your question seriously, which will in turn make your question look more interesting to answer.
    Thanks!

  • How to store multiple files from SAp in to Application server?

    Hi Guys,
Can anybody tell me how to store multiple files from SAP into Application server.in my application i have to get the data from SAP tables BSEG , BKPF , BSAK and BSIK that to daily i have to do.
Any Logic  or Code for how to do is welcomed.
                        plz help me urgently.
    Thanks,
    Gopi

    Hi,
directories creates basis. If you have task to store data in application server you already should have information into which folder you have to do it. If you don't have this information because it is just for example training for next task then you can use your personal folder into which you have access. To get list of all available folders please look at attached code and form get_directories (you get the list of folders you see in transaction AL11). But don't forget: If you are using open dataset you have to have rights to access application folder!
Here you are code which I use to upload text files from local disc into application folder

When I open iPhoto 9.2.1 it says that my library needs to be upgraded but when I upgrade the library I am trying to open (33 GB worth of pictures from 2006) the new application says it cannot read the files and how to find them on the system to reimport?! and then I'd like to erase the original files since the space requirement is huge!!!! Why is upgrading software iPhoto such a pain. I've gotta get a presentation done and all I get for my money is roadblock!!!

hello, it sounds like the library is damaged.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
