How?: file transfers to wifi ipad

Does the iPad support Bonjour or
one of the dropclients to get my pdf files from my iMac to the iPad?
If I go for the iPad with wifi, & I need to transfer my pdf documents to the iPad on the go...

How you transfer PDFs (or other files) will depend on what the app that you are transferring to supports e.g. either via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc.
If you have the iBooks app on the iPad for your PDFs, then you can sync your PDFs via iTunes in the same way as you'd sync music, films etc - add the PDFs to your computer's iTunes via File > Add To Library, then connect the iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and use the Books tab on the right-hand side of iTunes to select and sync the PDFs to the iBooks app on the iPad

  • Trouble Transferring Videos Files from computer to ipad in ios 8

    Hello -
I'm a bit confused about the "sharing" aspect of what used to be the "home videos" section in itunes for transferring video files to my ipad. It appears I can only access these files when my itunes is open and able to be accessed via wifi. What am I missing? I would like to have the files themselves on the ipad so that I can watch videos when not connected to the internet, and not near my computer.
Apologies, this is probably an easy fix - I haven't been able to find an answer,
    Elizabeth

  • Is there a way of telling if files were transferred from my IPad to s computers?

II'm wondering if there is anyway I can tell if files have been transferred from my iPad 2 with the latest software to a computer.
I Have PDFS files in my library that i put on there using iTunes, I know my iPad hasn't been synced with another computer I'm just wondering if i can tell of another reprogram was used to get my files Onto a computer? I only have the iPad and iTunes I don't have the computer that I think was used.

There are third-party iPad apps such as Simple Transfer (which has a free lite version called Simple Photo & Video Transfer) which can copy photos via your wifi network. The description for Simple Transfer says :
Simple Transfer is the easiest way of transferring your Photos and Videos to computer and other iOS devices via WiFi. No need for cable, iTunes or extra softwares

  • HT4692 Ok.  Now how to I get the garageband file BACK onto my iPad?

Ok.  I have successfully transferred garageband files from my ipad to my itunes into file sharing and then saved them onto my mac in a file.  Now, the question is.... how do I (after deleting garageband files off of my ipad) put them BACK on???
My iPad is just too full because of my garageband files.  I want to be able to take these files off and put back on certain ones when I would like to work on them again.  Thanks -R

    Step 1
First you put the the GarageBand Project back onto the GarageBand Documents area of you iTunes File Sharing section and make sure your iPad syncs with iTunes.
    Step 2
Now in GarageBand, go to the My Songs window, click the + button and select "Copy from Tunes". You should see all the GarageBand Projects that are available in your iTunes FIle Sharing section (from step 1). Tap on it to copy the Project to the My Songs window.
    Now you can open it.
    Hope that helps

  • I bought a new laptop how do I sync my ipad and get all the files synced to my old laptop

I bought a new laptop. Can I sync my ipad to it?  And how do I get all the files that were synced to my old laptop?

Do you still have your old computer with your media (music, films, etc) on it so that you can copy them over from it ? If you do then there are a number of methods on this page for how you could copy it over from it : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
If not, and if you don't have your content elsewhere (e.g. music that wasn't bought from iTunes), then there are some programs listed half-way down this page for how to copy content back from a device : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
For iTunes downloads you should be able to copy them from your iPad via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases
Also see this page for syncing to a new computer : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141
If you want to copy files/documents from the iPad then how you do so depends upon what app that they are in and what the app supports e.g. file sharing on the Apps tab in iTunes, transfer via your wifi network, email, dropbox etc

  • How can i add an ipad to my wifi connection?

I got a "new used" ipad from a friend. When I see my wifi id and click on it, it asks for a password. But when I type the password (six digits) that I use on my laptop, it doesn't recognize it. How do I add the ipad to my network?

The following has instructions and a link to further troubleshooting. The most likely problem is that you are using the wrong password -- that's a common problem because once you have connected a device such as your laptop the first time it typically auto connects every time after that and the password gets forgotten. iOS: Connecting to Wi-Fi

  • I have a e printer and thee printer is on the same wifi net work as the iPad, when I select print from the iPad the response is no printers. I can successfully email from my iPad to the printer. How can I make my iPad recognize the printer?

I have an e printer and the printer is on the same network as the iPad. When I attempt to print from the iPad I get a message no printers available. How can I get my iPad to recognize the e printer?

This printer has worked for me with out fail at my house.  I am traveling in an RV and am at the mercy of the RV Wifi.  I do not have access to the router.  The printer has been recycled a number of times as well as the Ipad.  The printer is set up and has access to the wifi.  It seems to me that the Ipad and Iphone are not recognizing the connection with the e printer.  I was hoping there was some adjustment that could be made to the Ipad and Iphone.  I can email to the printer from both gadgets.  I will try to recycle the devices again.

how can I saved the ipad isms conversation in a iMac file to be able of deleting them from the ipad?

    Hi Aurea,
One way of saving your sms conversations so that you can then delete them from your iPad would be to back up the contents of your iPad using either iTunes or iCloud. See these articles -

  • How to find out the size of files transferred over the SQL * Net?

I am trying to test the Advanced Compress (AC) for 11g Data Guard. When the AC is turned on, the archived log files are supposed to be compressed on the primary database server and sent over SQL*Net, then decompressed on the standby db server. We will see the file sizes are the same on both primary and standby servers. I want to verify that the AC works by monitoring how much data are sent over SQL*Net. Per Oracle, AC uses 35% less of the bandwith. That means the size of the files transferred should be at least 65% of the original size.
Is there a way to find out the size through Oracle utilities? If not, how to find out by OS utilities? OS is Solaris 5.10.
    Thanks.

I'm not sure this can be done via SQL*Net, but a network packet sniffer between the two servers should be able to help - you might want to contact your network team.
