How find out wich OS combo installed?

Hi!
Got my MBP a week ago and it was probably ready to ship a week before that.
Since I come from the PC world I have no idea what combo is installed.
Should "software update" take care of if there's an OS update as well as installed programs?
But maybe it's already installed since the combo is from 12 April.
Well, if somebody will shear some light over this you're welcome.

Yes, as default behaviour Software Update will run immediately after your first boot. IOr you can select it manually.
You can find your OS version by selecting *About This Mac* (click the apple, top left of your window).

How to find out if JRE is installed on a Win32 system?

Hi,
does anyone know a good and reliable way to find out if JRE is installed on a Windows system? I want to start a JAR file but don't want to appear the "select program to start with"-chooser box when there's no JRE. Most unexperienced users give up at this point and delete my application. I'd rather let a popup-message appear that says something like "You need Java - download it here for free ...<link>".
Maybe a script file? Or a small C++ program that only checks if Java is installed and then starts the application (or gives out the popup). And how to check for an existing JRE?
I know about Webstart but have no server at hand...

Try JSmooth ( http://jsmooth.sourceforge.net/ ). It's a Java executable wrapper.

If I have one class with some public method, is there a way to find out wich class have called it, and do it at runtime?
I can't modie classes that a using this method.

well if make method to throw something, then I have to by able to handle it within the class that calls it?!

How do I find out wich jre an already installed iWS6SP2 installation uses?

Our systems (sun netras with Solaris8) have several java runtimes installed.
JDK 1.3.1 resides in /usr/j2se
JDK 1.2.2 resides in /usr/java1.2
/usr/java is a link to /usr/java1.2
When I installed iWS 6.0SP1 I had the install skip the java runtime installation, and instead specified /usr/j2se as the location of the runtime to use.
Checking <serverroot>/https-admserv/start-jvm it contains
NSES_JDK=/usr/j2se; export NSES_JDK
In <serverroot>/<instanceroot>/config for each of my server instances exists a jvm12.conf file. This file contains a commented out line:
#jvm.option=-Xbootclasspath:/usr/j2se/lib/tools.jar:/usr/j2se/jre/lib/rt.jar
What is the purpose of this line?
Also several of the server instances have classpaths defined in their jvm12.conf that refer to /usr/java1.2, not /usr/j2se.
My questions:
- How do I find out what jre is effectively used by my webserver?
- How does this effect the stability of my webservers. I have problems with hangs, and am unable to shutdown the server using the admin interface.

[SOLVED] How do I find out what packages are installed in a distro?

Okay. I was running Arch before, but GNOME had a bunch of problems that I couldn't fix myself, so I reformatted and went to Peppermint OS (it's a cloud-based system), and I absolutely love it. Now, the thing is, it's even slower than my Arch system was running GNOME, and it's supposed to be super-lightweight and speedy; but aside from that, I found it's a great distro (I think most of the slowdown is because it's based on Ubuntu and Mint). So, my question: how do I find out which packages are in Peppermint OS so I can emulate the basic environment, except with Arch underneath? Thanks, guys!

Okay, I guess an hour of Googling wasn't enough, but I just found a site that tells me how to do it! There's no method.
If you're speaking about a smartforms for logistics module (SD,MM), you can you the transaction NACE (or table TNAPR) in order to findout which program is assigned to that smartforms.
U can also try to find out all programs using the fm SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME and get only the program where the string containing the name of your smartform.

I need to classify KM resourses in a taxonomy and I don't know how can I find out type of the resourses (whether the resourse is folder or document). Is the type stored in any indexable property?

I think you can check the resource object you have is an instanceof ICollection or not.. like..
if(resource instanceof ICollection){
If Yes, it's a folder
If No, it's a file
or you can also try
if(resource.isCollection() ) {
ICollection collection = (ICollection)resource;

Go to the Transaction iview and open as object.
Go to the property Quick Link and add a name to it. (say 'abc').
Then open the url
http://<urportal>:<port>/irj/portal/abc
After login, it will directly open the iview in the portal.
Note that the iview should assingn to a role and this role is assigned to a user
