How flash to old bios version (GT780)?

How can I flash my bios of the GT780 notebook to the previous version of the bios? Currently, the most recent version is installed: 1761_10E.zip
I might wonder why I would like to do this: I have some problems with my laptop (see other posts) and I'm not sure these problems were there when the old version was installed. I would like to find out whether the old version would solve the issues.

and what was your old version?
I don't know  :( :(
I bit of a long story: my brand new laptop had a defective USB port. MSI flashed the bios to the most recent version and on return I noticed the fan issue (the issue I PM-ed you about). Didn't notice this before, but I'm not 100% sure about this. So I would like to try to flash it to an older bios version if possible. MSI tried to repair the fan issue, but they didn't succeed. All in all: bought this laptop after summer and up to now not been able to use it because it has been longer for repair at MSI than on my table...

Of course my update was successful. I am able to see the 6.6 updates in other stuffs, as for example in /etc/redhat-release. Just the progress bar when Oracle Linux is bringing up is showing "Oracle Linux Server 6.4". My guess it is some kind of image, because it changes the color as the progress bar is going forward.
Actually, your update wasn't successful, or at least, it wasn't complete. The tool responsible for the boot loader screen is plymouth and the version comes from the /etc/system-release file.  If the content of that file isn't "Oracle Linux Server release 6.6", then your update hasn't updated oraclelinux-release to the latest version.
However, if that file is correct, it means that plymouth hasn't updated the initrd properly during the upgrade. You can manually trigger a rebuild of the initrd by running:
    # plymouth-set-default-theme text --rebuild-initrd
And it'll rebuild it for you. However, I've never seen a complete update (via yum update) that hasn't rebuilt this properly. Did you perhaps only do a security-related update using the yum-security plugin?

    Im from Turkey.
I use x300 14 y since one week. factory bios version for vista 32 bit 1.90. But I upgraded to 2.10.
How can I find old bios 1.90 setup file again. ? Please help.......

You are right. On Toshiba download page you will not be able to find older BIOS version.
When the new BIOS update is realised the old one will not be available for download.
If you need older version contact nearest authorized service provider.
They must have it. Be cool and talk with them. Maybe they can send it to you per mail.

Downgrading the iOS version is not supported by Apple.
Without know how it is not working:
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • How can I tell BIOS Version "offline"?

    Hi there,
I just got my K8N Neo2 Platinum and a 3200+ Winchester CPU. I heard that you need at least BIOS Version 1.2 for the winchester to run. I just wanted to check with you if there is any chance for determining my BIOS version without installing the board (maybe by serial number / revision number?). Of course I could install the board, but since my whole PC is watercooled, it would be very annoying to set up the whole PC just to realize that my BIOS does not support my CPU...

"version without installing the board (maybe by serial number / revision number?)"
you can't!  serial number / revision number is on the CHIP. there is nothink with information in the chip. its flashable. you dont know what version is on it.
etc you may see some hard disk SATA Seagate baracuda 80GB 8MB cache. so could you tell me what version on windows is installed on it without turning HDD on?!
you can guess for BIOS ver on chip depending on baying date on the board. or on mobo revision.
why you need this?! just put your CPU and power on. if mobo dont recognise it correctly will be desplayed "Unknown CPU type" but who care?! boot directly from floppy and update with latest BIOS. then will support your new cpu. other way to put other proccesor if mobo dont wont to boot with unrecognized CPU. and proceed with update with latest BIOS. after complete put your new cpu back.
other way is to take your BIOS chip and to flash to other the same model mobo.(but this is not reccomended)

  • Old BIOS version for 945PL Neo (MS-7236 v2.x)

Older BIOS files for this board 945PL Neo are not available for download on the website, it's all done through the updater program.  When the bios is upgraded it does not save the old bios for backup, I found out.
I need to downgrade the BIOS to the board's shipping version.  I unfortunately updated the BIOS to I think it was 5.2 and I need version 5.0.  Upgrading the BIOS screwed up a license key for an application I'm running.  I couldn't have planned a better disaster.
    Anyone?
    Thank you.

  • How to remove old trial version of Pages

I trialled Pages a few years ago but never used it.  Since then I have bought Pages (and Numbers) through the App Store but when opening a document (Microsoft Windoze 08 is currently set as default) and I select 'Open With' I have two options for Pages.  How can I get rid of the trial version and keep the version I have bought?
For instance, I get an e-mail with a .doc file and I might like to now see how Pages displays the documents before I completely transition over from Windows (soon I hope!).  I'm forever opening the trial version of Pages so there must be a way to remove this option.

  • Z77A-GD65 Buggy bios Version 10.10

    Hello All
I recently got this motherboard and during a bios update through MSI tool M-Flash I faced similar problems as some users reported in other post: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=171694.0
I have made the registration on the forum to share a solution that worked out for me.
I received the board on Bios 10.0, and  I installed a Core i7 2600k and 16Gb DDR3 2133Mhz on it. First I run it without any PCI-Ex VGA.
I installed Win 7 64bits Ultimate on a SSD samsung EVO 840 256GB drive without any other drive pluged to the board.
The result was awsome, loading Windows in 10 seconds.
Then i instaled my HD6950 VGA and pluged in all my HDD (2 x 2TB + 1TB +750 MB + 500 MB) and every thing worked like a charm.
Later I thought, I have a very old Bios version, perhaps there is improvements regarding satbility or performance and there was where I mess up.
I updated the Bios to 10.10 through MSI tool M-Flash, the tool finalized the update (there was a progressing bar on the screen) and reboots the system.
Guess what? The system didn't boot and was only showing the hash blinking on the up left corner of the screen.
I switch the Multibios switch to the second bios position and the system got alive again.
After some trys, I was able to boot from the USB drive from where I have installed the OS, and i notice some strange cenario, the Windows installer was able to "see" all the drives, but if I select any one to go on with the instalation, I got a message like "The Windows can not be installed on this drive because a driver is missing" I'm not sure if these were the exactly words but this was the sense of the message.
This was the way I didi it:
1- you need get a good bios file (you can boot with 2nd bios and save it to a file or you can download a diferente version in my case I got the file for 10.8 version). When you download the bios from MSI webpage you get 3 files (7750vAx.TXT, AFUD238S.EXE and E7751IMS.A80 in case of version 10.8)
2- You need to prepare a bootable USB drive with MS DOS or equivalente, for that I have used "rufus-1.4.12" software that you can download on Rufus webpage.
3- After you create the bootable USB drive with MS DOS, copy all the files you got from MSI webpage on the root directory. You can check on a diferente PC or with the other bios if every thing is ok and if the bootable USB is working properlly.
4- Select the BIOS you want to restore with Multibios switch (the phisical switch on the board). (As far as I understood, older boards allows you to boot with bios 1 and after boot you would be able to switch to bios 2 and flash it, on this borad that won't work you will flash the bios from you have booted).
5- Power on your system, entrer the bios and set options to default, save and power off the system. (this is very importante because you can flash a diferente bios with diferente options and if this options won't exists on the version you are instaling the system can hang up and mayby this could be the end for this bios - I'm guessing but is better not to try)
6- disconnect all your sata drives.
7 - Power on the system and boot from the USB drive with MS DOS
8 - Type the folowing comand "AFUD238S.EXE E7751IMS.A80 /S" and press Enter, the software will do a full flash to the bios. Don't power off the system during this procedure otherwise this bios is dead.
8 - After every thing have finished (you should see the promt on the screen C:>\), reboot your system and you should get a functional bios, justo ensure you test it first only with the OS drive and then plug the others.
Note: This board has a multibios function on the Bios that if it is turned on the system will copy the content of one bios chip to the other, BUT, as far as i understood the system wil do a comparison between both chips and will replace the older version with the new one, that in my case would be a problema because the most recente one is the faulty one.
I hope this can help any one who is facing this or similar problems.
    Best Regards from Portugal.

  • GTX 580 Twin Frozr II O/C - confused by bios version number, and how to flash

Hi, my first post here. But I've been reading a bit here. Still, I get confused by this whole vga bios thing, version numbers and how to flash... Ok, so here's my situation:
I have two PC's. Both with one MSI Twin Frozr II O/C GTX 580 card inside. It seems to me that both are working according to specifications, GPU-Z reports:
GPU clock 800 Mhz, Memory 1024 Mhz, Shader 1600 Mhz for the borth of them.
Now, one of them seems not to be totally stable (this is the newest I bought a few days ago). It locks up/crashes in some games. The other seems ok, I've been having that one for a while. Could this be a GPU core voltage problem? GPU-Z reports for the both of them:
    VDDC 0.955 v
I've tried running MSI afterburner, changing core voltage to 1025, and in afterburner settings enable "Force constant voltage". Still, GPU-Z, which I keep running at the same time, still reports only 0.955. I thought this setting in Afterburner would change voltage to 1.025?  This situation is for both the old one and the new one.
    Now to the Bios "problem".
The newest card (the not so stable one) reports through GPU-Z: Bios Version 70.10.20.00.01
The oldest (stable) card: Bios Version 70.10.17.00.01
So... which one has the newest bios? Seems to me it is the newest card.
BUT - when running MSI Live Update 5 (newest version) it says for both the cards that they have the the newest bios version, and there's no need to upgrade??
SO - I go to the MSI webpage: http://no.msi.com/product/vga/N580GTX-Twin-Frozr-II-OC.html#?div=BIOS  to download the newest bios manually, just in case.. But there it gets more confusing. The Bios version found there is :NV255MS.104(.zip).
And also, on that page I can not find how to use that file. Extracting it just gives me the file NV255MS.104    and no extension.
So, which bios is the newest one? 70.10.20.00.01  (the highest number, in the new card, but not stable in some games), 70.10.17.00.01 (in my old card, but seems stable in the games I've tried), or NV255.104  (which I don't know how to use).
I've flashed my main board bios many times over the years in various set ups, the bios on two different SSD disks and so on.. never had a problem with that, or finding out if I have the correct bios, how to do it and so on.
Maybe I'm stupid, but this MSI Twin Frozr II O/C GTX 580 bios thing confuses me a lot... So, how do I solve this situation?

I am also interested in the answer as I have 2 MSI N580GTX-M2D15D5/OC cards. I can find the latest BIOS file "NV801MS.KG4.zip" and know the version is "KG4". But how do you relate this to the current BIOS version Afterburner or GPU-Z provides? The version they each provide is "70.10.17.00.01" for both cards. The only other way to determine if they are up to date is to install and run MSI Live Update. MSI Live Update responds that they are up to date with no current version or online version information on the Live Update tab. At least the information on the Home tab states the same VGA BIOS version as GPU-Z and Afterburner. I can can only assume that the BIOS is updated by using MSI Live Update.
Also just for the additional information GPU-Z displays my VDDC as 1.039 briefly then 0.995 constantly when switching between cards. I actually have the cards set to 1.050 with Afterburner to be stable when running Crysis 2 DX11 updates.

  • How to uninstall old versions of Flash player?

I have the latest version of the Flash Player (9.0.28.0)
    installed.
However when I run Secunia's software inspector (
    http://secunia.com/software_inspector/?task=load)
it finds an old version of the Flash 7.0.19.0 and flags it as
    'Insecure'.
    This is in two places:
    C:/WINDOWS/system32/Macromed/Flash/Flash.ocx
    and
    C:/I386/Flash.ocx
How can I uninstall the old version - I do not see Flash
Player in Add/Remove of Windows (Win XP SP2)?
    thanks

It's quite handy, actually, and I suspect relatively new. It
checks your machine for outdated/unsafe applications:
    http://secunia.com/software_inspector
And of course it's totally free.
How can I verify what version(s) of Flash that I might have
loaded? There's no Program Files entry or anything in Add/Remove,
etc. OTOH, the Secunia site shows where at least part of the
product(s) are loaded, yet it's not totally clear to me if those
locations are in use by the current version.
