How fragile is the Macbook Air
This is a rather silly question... If my cat likes sitting on top of my closed macbook air do you think it can handle that kind of weight/ pressure? It just seems so fragile. Thanks!
I had my 2010 13 on a book on the table. It slid off and the back part of the lid hit a lamp base just about in the center and broke the screen. A new screen is 699 because apple will only allow the entire lid to be replaced. Since I first had it I noticed the one week spot is the center of the lid on the back. It can be pushed in surprisingly far. Just happened to be the spot I hit.
Yes, its my fault clearly, but I am really dissapointed that it costs so much to repair and that spot can be pushed in so far. I've always been very worried about simply putting it in my computer bag. I am considering going to the eleven which feels stonger, or jumping ship. If Techrestore would finally offer a anti glare screen replacement I would go for that. Especially if it had no glass. These screens seem too fragile for an ultraportable. An ultraportable needs to be tough, not fragile. Thin glass and a top that can be flexed easily in is a recipe for disaster. Add to that a screen which no one can replace, and I suggest you think twice before buying the computer. It is not that tough I believe.

How do I get MacBook Air to see Windows Home Server and show it in Finder?
New to Mac (having used Windows for years) so this may be a dumb question. Have a MacBook Air (new) and have a home network with a Windows Home Server on the network. I can't figure out how to get the MacBook Air to see the Windows Home Server. It doesn't show up in Finder and I think my lack of understanding of Mac OS it inhibiting me from figuring out how to get the MacBook Air to see the server and show it so I can navigate to the files on it, etc. Any suggestions on how to do this or where I can go to read about it to figure it out?
Thanks!!!If the Windows Home Server functions like a file server, try the following: From the Finder, Click the Go menu at the top of the screen, and choose Connect To Server. You will be presented with a dialog box to enter the server IP address.
You may also want to open the Preferences for the Finder from the File menu, and make sure connected servers are supposed to show up on the desktop and in Finder windows.
Disclaimer: I have not used a PC for 15 yrs, so this is general information. This is the process I use to connect to other Mac servers and to several online WebDav servers. -

I have restored to factory with no luck. is there a memory cleaner or process to eliminate what is not needed in Other? Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
This should restore the version of OS X originally pre-installed on the computer. -

I deleted the whole disk. When I start the computer I press Command+R and appears the earth planet and all the networks detected by the computer. What I don´t understand is that I have a MacBook and an iPad beside the Macbook Air and both recognize the network, but the MacBook Air can´t.

i've tried using the Migration Assistant and it was supposed to download the "applications" "settings" and "others files and folders" but I can't find them anywhere in the MacBook Air that's why I can't find the music either
If you created an account on the MacBook Air before using the Migration Assistant, it'll create a new one for the migrated files. You can also use an external drive or network to move the iTunes folder in the Music item of the Finder's sidebar over.
Rented movies can't be moved through these methods.
