In my fileformat plugin on writing I can't get transparent
color for indexed image. For RGB
image I got transparent data from alfa channel in data of FormatRecord.
The FormatRecord structure has value
transparentIndex (for GIF), but it always =0
(even, if in the image transparent index=12, for example).
How can I get transparent index? Or, if it possible, how get transparent
data for indexed image in alfa channel?

How Get GUI Cycles for a Compute-Bound Application?

Mine's not even quite compute-bound:
o it sleeps for a millisecond in the loop
o it does Thread.yield()
..but still the GUI never seems to get enf cycles for me to hit the stop btn.
I didn't find anything in SwingUtilities.

How to create installer for flash app where content is distributed by chapter?

hi everyone,
i wanted to create an application installer (per chapter) like the one implemented on the product on this site: http://www.thelandofme.com/ .. can someone pls guide me on this? i have no problem creating flash apps but i'm so lost on making installers , like update installers for the same app.. the idea is that on first installation of my app, other contents are not available until the user downloads it from my site and install it on their pc. and that installer will just update the existing one with the new downloaded content..
i hope i have explained the idea clearly.. i need a guide or advices on how i can make an app like this..

I don't think there is a bult-in capability to create an installer that will run on a single PC, but you can incorporate in your application instructions on some hardware item of the target system and create your own licensing algorithm on them.
This subject has already been discussed in this forum: you can look at this thread and this other one.
In the last page, I mention a sample of mine which is available on the Community: I have updated it to retrieve the disk serial number also, as it can be useful to get a unique sign for a specific PC; the sample uses WMI to get system infos: you can find the modified version attached to this message. You need full CVI version to run the sample.
Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

Need installer for Photoshop Album v3.2 to upgrade install of v2.0

I'm supporting an old couple's PC with a valid licensed Photoshop Album 2.0 install. Moving to a different photo management system is not a possibility for many reasons. However, v2.0 has serious limitations with email support. I'd like to get them updated to the latest version Adobe produced for Photoshop Album which I believe is v3.2. How do I get the installer for this obsolete product?

Today we tried to download firefox again, and still no luck. it downloads just fine, but when it is done there is a NO (/) sign over the little fox and there is this message"you can not open this application "Firefos" because it is not supported on this architecture. Now why does it say that, when i was running 8 before and then you sent me 9. everything was working fine, i thought 9 took over so i deleted 8 and then would not work at all. and also we can not drag the little fox over to the application folder. my son said before when he loaded firefox that the installer came first and it is not doing that now. what is the problem here, how can we get you to send us the program, or give us a phone # so we can talk about this.

Problem finding Photoshop Installer for CS6

I am using Photoshop CS6 and I am being told that one or more files is missing from the Adobe Support Folder and I need to run Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop. I tried to find that installer and only see an uninstaller in CS6 folder in Applications. Please help me know what to do?

Silent Installation for CS5.5?

I've been able to get silent installation for the DPS tools to work fine for CS6 (v27), but I haven't found a successful method for CS5.5 (v27), aside from using JAMF's Composer to perform a file-system watch.
The commands I've tried:
sudo /Adobe/DPS/r27/cs5.5fp/Install.app/Contents/MacOS/Install --mode=Silent
Starting Installer...
In Silent mode.
Installation successful.
Exiting Installer with Code: 0
sudo /Adobe/DPS/r27/cs5.5fb/Install.app/Contents/MacOS/Install --mode=Silent
Starting Installer...
In Silent mode.
Installation successful.
Exiting Installer with Code: 0
They always report that they run successfully, but don't seem to actually install anything. If I remove the silent flag, the installer will run, successfully, albeit with user interaction, which isn't desirable. Has anyone encountered a similar issue, or have a good way around it?

Although I already provided the solution privately I will post it here as well in case other users are facing the same problem.
The correct syntax for silent deployment is:
sudo ./Install --mode=silent --deploymentFile="path"
So for example:
sudo ./Install.app/Contents/MacOS/Install --mode=silent --deploymentFile=deploy/AdobeDigitalPublishing-mul.install.xml
(the assumption here is that the user is in the directory where Install.app is.
From the command line you should see "Installation successful. Exiting Installer with code: 0.

How do I get an Installation Disc for Lion after I already installed it.

I am furious, with myself and Apple.... I started this journey of upgrading to Lion soley because I needed to increase the capacity of the HD on my early 2008 MBP. I saw that it was much easier with Lion, I didn't see or understand the part about only on brand new computers...
I have already upgraded the HD once before and had NO PROBLEMS... Time Machine back up and all that.
I am only a Mac user for 3 years... I love it... But some preconceptions die hard...
LIKE ....WHY CAN'T I MAKE A DVD OF MY INSTALL DISC AFTER THE INITIAL INSTALLATION OF LION?????? ESPECIALLY SINCE I DIDN"T GET ONE IN THE FIRST PLACE???
Yea, I didn't read the fine print, I had to make one at the time of installation.... I didn't know that I wouldn't be given the chance again????
Darn Darn Darn.... I only upgraded as a step along the path of upgrading the Hard Drive.... NOW I CAN"T WITHOUT MAJOR HEADACHES.... Grrrrrr

As you can tell, I totally disagree with apple on this.... It should be a DEFAULT that the ability to make a DVD start up disc is always there... not the other way around.
I have spent hours on this upgrade... upgrading the Snow Leopard, upgrading to Lion, Installing new hardware, re-installing new hardware, re-installing the old hardware...
Some people, like myself, have the ability to DIY, but I don't have the incredible highly detailed inside knowledge that I apparently have to possess...
