How Good Can The MacBook Pro Play Minecraft and other games like assassins creed?

Please Answer!

You shouldn't have any problem running Minecraft; It's Java based and will run on most platforms. I'm running Minecraft without a hitch.
Assasins Creed? Hmm, depending on your hardware spec i shouldn't see you having a problem.
I'm running on the 2013 15" Retina, with dedicated graphics chip though; However the Activity Monitor shows that it is using the Iris chipset to run Minecraft.
Hope that helps.

  • How easily can the MacBook Pro be scratched with another aluminium product?

I have a MacBook Pro 15' and an iPad 2 with a Smart Cover.  Every now and then, if I carry both in my hands, I stack the iPad on top of the MacBook Pro.  I will hear a sound of metal VS metal and I have figured what it was.  The hinge of the Smart Cover was rubbing against my MBP.  I was wondering, can the 2 scratch each other?  I have noticed wear on the metal Smart Cover hinges, and was wondering if the same thing could happen to my MBP.
    Thanks for helping!

Aluminum, while flexible and lightweight, is a very soft metal. Apple was very careful with engineering the MBP to round the edges and make the shell as damage proof as possible. Still, with a little bit of hand pressure, you can cut into aluminum with an everyday table knife. That should tell you something.

  • How good is the MacBook Pro ?

    Dear member:
I am considering the purchase of a new MacBook Pro to replace my aging notebook. After reading reviews and reports from customers it became apparent to me that many users are experiencing problems with the new Intel technology and the new notebooks.
    1. What problems are all of you experiencing with the new notebooks ?
    2. How does the performance compare with that of the Power PC notebooks ?
    3. How are companies doing in regards to converting their software to run on the new Intel machines ?
    4. Initial reports on Rosetta seem to reveal it is not as fast as Apple initially claimed. How is Rosetta running and what software can't be run with it ?
What other advice would you have for me ? Should I purchase the new MacBook Pro or wait until all issues have been properly addressed ?
Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions.
    Best regards,
    Joseph Chamberlain

    1. What problems are all of you experiencing with the new notebooks ?
I only have two complaints. The first is the display 'buzzing' if it's not turned onto maximum brightness. I run my display at maximum 90% of the time, so it's not that big of an issue. The second complaint is that every once in a while I can hear a slight buzz, which some have attributed to a noisy power supply within the MBP.
    2. How does the performance compare with that of the Power PC notebooks ?
I used a 15" G4 Powerbook for years, and this is much faster. Like night and day faster. I wouldn't go back.
    3. How are companies doing in regards to converting their software to run on the new Intel machines ? It's hit or miss, but I think Apple has been so quick on getting the machines out (and demand for them has been so high) that some companies are struggling to get their software out as quickly as they'd like. The universal binaries that I've used have been great and fast.
    4. Initial reports on Rosetta seem to reveal it is not as fast as Apple initially claimed. How is Rosetta running and what software can't be run with it ?
Honestly, I haven't seen this. I have a dual 2.0Ghz, and MS Office runs just fine under rosetta. I don't use any pro apps so I can't speak for those.
Seriously, just buy it. I love mine. Best laptop I've ever owned.

    Hi silverk,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand the need for all of your calendars to be up to date across all of your devices and how frustrating it can be when they are not syncing as you would expect. In this situation I would suggest reading over and using the attached article for troubleshooting.

  • HT4279 I have a Macbook Pro (late 2012) and I would like to connect it to 2 screens simultaneously (1 screen is a TV and can only take HDMI, the other is a larger computer screen and has both VGA and HDMI connections). How can I do this?

I have a Macbook Pro (late 2012) and I would like to connect it to 2 screens simultaneously (1 screen is a TV and can only take HDMI, the other is a larger computer screen and has both VGA and HDMI connections). How can I do this?

The article you cited refers to The Mac Pro, a 50lb silver tower -- not a notebook computer.
    Everymac.com says:
    2nd Display Support:
    Dual/Mirroring*
    2nd Max. Resolution:
    2560x1600 (x2*)
    Details:
*This model supports a simultaneous maximum resolution up to 2560x1600 on two external displays via Thunderbolt. Alternately, it can support a single display up to 2560x1600 via Thunderbolt and a single display up to 1920x1200 via HDMI. Although it can theoretically power all three external displays, as confirmed by a helpful reader, it runs too hot with three displays connected.
Also see: How many external displays can the Retina Display MacBook Pro models support? What is the maximum supported resolution of each? Are adapters required?
When using other than ThunderBolt displays, the ThunderBolt port is directly compatible with Mini DisplayPort, and can be forced into compatibility (with Single-Link DVI or HDMI up to 1920 wide) with a simple adapter.
To adapt to wider displays, an ACTIVE Dual-Link adapter is needed, about US$100.

The built-in SuperDrive can read CDs and DVDs, but not Blu-Rays. You need an external Blu-Ray drive and a specific application to use Blu-Ray discs

all it says online is that you can burn dvds, not about anything else.

Every Mac that has an optical drive can play DVD movies and read DVD data discs. I watch DVDs on my MacBook Pro too

  • Can the MacBook Pro 13inch mid 2008 use 1333Mhz RAM?

Can the MacBook Pro 13inch mid 2008 use 1333Mhz RAM? I just bought another 4 GB of ram, but it isn't 1066Mhz like the other stick. Everything works and passes a memory test but the MacBook does not wake from sleep. It only does this when the new RAM is inserted. I have tried it on its own and with the old memory and it only does it with this faster memory installed. It says its at the same speed as any slower RAM installed.

So 1066Mhz is the only ram that works.? As in there isn't anything I need to change or the ram just isn't working correctly? I was always under the impression that ram always clocked it self down to the slowest module installed, which this one does, it just does let the Mac come out of sleep..
There may be some 1333MHz RAM that would work in your machine, but it's not what you bought, and the only way to find it would be to keep buying more and more modules until you found one that worked.  It is always safest to buy RAM with the right specs for your machine from a known-reliable, Mac-savvy vendor that offers a lifetime warranty and no "restocking fee" if you get a module that seems to be bad or go bad.
RAM that is faster than spec will often clock itself down, not to the speed of the slowest module installed, but to the speed the machine's architecture is designed to use. But it doesn't always work — not even when it appears at first to work. And there's never any benefit to installing faster-than-spec RAM, because it never speeds up the machine's operation at all.

  • Can the MacBook Air work with any other type of internet connection beside wifi?

Can the MacBook Air work with any other kind of internet connection besides Wifi?

Who? ITS VERY important when doing a restore, in fact you DO NOT want to do a wifi restore
The pros all have that Ethernet adapter,... that should tell you something. An Ethernet restore via that "thing" makes restoring the OSX about 8X faster.
Its called a Gigabit Ethernet adapter for a reason.
"who the heck" is anyone working with their Macbook Air at home and want a MUCH FASTER download / internet connection.
