How good is Jam Pack Voices for hip-hop rapp artist.

I would like to record my own voice for regular song, and also record a voice and coomputerize it for instrumentals (i.e. http://mixmatters.com/hot/2007/MikeJones_TurningHeads.html)

I didn't think it would "change" the interface; rather, I thought it might work as a pop-up kind of function (sort of like when you double-click a track in order to manipulate its details -- e.g. reverb, echo, etc).
I'll look into that other program you mentioned, but I'm rather disappointed over not having a virtual drum machine to program.

Anything could happen, including a new JamPack series, but it appears as if at least for now, the JamPacks have been discontinued.
There were some lingering installation problems, but more than that, Apple is generally moving to online software distribution and away from boxed sets.
If you google them, you can still find boxed sets for sale, and perhaps one day there will be an online version.

How To Install Fix Pack 3 For Xcelsius Present

After downloading Fix Pack 3 for Xcelsius Present and preparing to install, the wizard asks me to uninstall the software. A co-worker with the same version (including build number) downloaded and installed the same Fix Pack without being asked to uninstall the software. Why does the install require an uninstall of the original software?
Is there some place to find the key as I have misplaced it?

How to differentiate a packing type for Finished goods based on which customer will be invoiced ?

I need a little expertise
The requirement for my organization is Certain Finish goods packing.
Currently certain, Finished goods packaging items when send to Customer, is charged for the packaging items like Pallets , Q- Bit Boxes.
There will be a deposit fee which will appear on the customer invoice.
Moving forward they want to eliminate that deposit fee, from the customer invoice for a few of the packaging types.. (For example Pallet we would still charge the customer the same way AS_IS today but for another pack type Q-BIT boxes customer should not be charged as a deposit fee for returing the pack type.)
From Materials management perspective… At the time of order entry how do we differentiate a particular pack type so that for that a particular Pack type customer is not charged anything…
2 options I am thinking is introduce a new characteristics in Classification view for PK type.. Upon entering the order the User exit will check the characteristic in material master and customer invoice won’t be charged for the Packing item if Pack type = Q Bit..
Other one is From the Alternate Unit of Measure translation to Common Unit of measure / Sales Unit of measure.
Which one would you recommend ?

What I was suggesting was to have different material codes per pack size. If this is done, you will not need to modify anything, other than maintain condition types for the correct material codes.
In case you are leaning towards the classification approach, I will suggest having a custom calculation type added to include RV64ANNN with a check of the characteristic on a custom table. In this table, maintain the pack sizes with should be charged. The logic should turn XKOMV-KBETR = 0 if the pack size is not found in the table.

For a Text-To-Speech project, I'm using the function "say".
The problem is that I want to use several languages, and the user of my project have to do nothing except to launch my program.
So, how can I install a new voice by console?
I've the other solution to install the voice folder while the compilation but the folder is huge, so it's not optimized...

I'm actually doing it with AppleScript but I'm not an expert (far from this), so if some one could help me.

Sure, they're canned and many are cheesy, but they're also kind of cool. In two seconds you can add some pretty slick backup vocals.
Of course, it's nothing like writing out vocal parts tailored for a particular song and getting them sung by real live singers, but for a canned collection of prerecorded vocals, they're fun. Definite wow factor for the non-musician friend!
As for worth the money... hard to say. While they're fun, they're not really my thing. But for $50 or so, if you don't have access to singers or don't know how to write out backup tracks, it might be worth it for you. Instant professionally recorded oooooo-yeahhhhs.

Hello SB7,
The IR recording mode on the XA20 could potentially be used for this, it is reading infrared after all, but we don't think it would have enough light gathering ability to properly record this. So despite it having the potential as being used this way it would be difficult to recommend it specifically for this purpose.

How good are the new Macs for Logic?

I've read some damning articles about some problems with the new macs/os selling now, esp running Logic.
Any ideas on what a fellow traveller should buy?
Is it worth the trouble right now?
Should one wait until the issues are resolved?
What should one do if one needed a working DAW right NOW?

What problems especially are you talking about? new macs not working together with Logic pro 9?
I'm using Logic 9 and i'm having my problems with it, but what i've been experiencing is that normally the mac is not the problem, it's logic 9 itself, or maybe the programming.
but if you want to be mobile with your equipment, i'd recommend a macbook pro with quite a bit of ram and a fast hard drive. (7.200 rpm, something like a seagate barracuda).
from my experience apple is not very fast when it comes to fixing bugs in logic but so far 9.0.2 is working pretty stable. another option would be to use cubase, or digital performer as daw?

THE QUALITY OF THE JAM PACK INSTUMENTS ?

I notice that the instruments already preloaded in logic pro 7 are just ok if that. My quest is how good are the Jam Pack instruments? How realalistic are they. I have a roland s-fantom 88 and a korg , and the instruments on those are really good. So how do the Jam Packs compare to those?

As a general rule the Garage band (jam pack) instruments are scaled-down versions of the larger Logic Instruments. The synth instruments are simplified versions of the ES2 for instance. The electric piano is a scaled down version of the vintage instrument piano in Logic ect. Usable but nothing spectacular. So if you don't like the Logic instruments you're unlikely to be impressed with the jam pack versions.

LE 8 doesn't see all of my installed Jam Packs

Just setting up a new mac. I installed all the Jam Packs. After that I brought up Garageband and when I click on "Loops" it show the following list. I did notice that when Garage Band came up, it indicated that it was searching for Jam Packs...

I then installed Logic Express 8. I launched it and when I click on "Loops", I'm missing 2 of the Jam Packs. I only see:

Jam Pack Remix Tools
Jam Pack Voices
Jam Pack World Music
Can I drag the missing Jam Packs on to Logic? I don't want to make copies, just want them to be seen there.

One more observation. I tried dragging just one file over from the Orchestra folder (Academy Cello 01). I then searched for it and found it. I then searched for "Academy Viola 01", but it didn't find it. I ended up dragging over the set of 5 Academy sounds and now if I search for just "Academy" to all show up in the search results. The only bad thing is I don't actually see the "Symphony Orchestra" pack in the list. I guess I can live with that, but it would be nice to see them all there, just so I know which ones I have. Dumb, I know...
If you know of any other way, please let me know.

Jam Pack Error

I upgraded Logic Express 8 to Logic Studio 9 last night on a 2007 Intel Mac and clicked on all install options. It took a long time, but it is running fine even though at the end of the installation it said that a major error had occurred; however, I don't believe it ever asked me to install the 3rd Jam Pack Cd. Is there a way to check which of the jam packs were installed and how do I install those that were not?

Jam Pack 3, Install "Alert:something happened" error

When i install Jampack i have window with Alert: something happened error, but install complete and garageband run. In garageband i push "i" button and select jam pack in drop down list, but below of this list is nothing to choose. Garageband not see the instruments, rhythm or something else! Please help me! In garageband 08 jampack work good! This problem on my new macbook pro 13'' 2011!

Where can I find good organ and keyboard sounds for Logic Express?

Where can I find good organ and keyboard sounds for Logic Express? The included sounds seem to be lacking or hard to access.

Update: Not terribly impressed with the interface for NI's Vintage Organs from the demo download, although the sound demos sure sound good. The letters are tiny and hard to read and the whole thing feels very PC-centric. I guess a guy gets spoiled by the intuitive stuff. I think what I'll try for now is just hooking up my keyboard (Korg N1, circa 1998, about 1700 built in sounds) as a sound module and record the waveforms when I find a sound I like. I did find the EXS24 and several other software synths with some cool organ sounds after digging a little deeper. It would be good if Apple came out with another jam pack just for organs and keys, as the existing jam packs are so easy to use.

Question about Garageband Vocal Jam Pack Compatiability with Logic Pro 8

I recently purchased Logic Pro 8 and I was wondering if there is any way to I can use my Garageband 09 Jam Pack: Voices in Logic. When I select the loops tab and select show all only "Garageband and Jam Pack Remix Tools shows up, not my jam Pack Vocals.

Now, I checked the support page that you told me about, however, that didn't fix my problem. There is nothing grayed out. I tried to re-install my Garageband Voices and it still didn't fix the problem.
On Logic when I select the "Loops" tap and select the View drop down box, the only options listed is Garageband and Jam Pack remix Tools. Jam pack Voices still isn't showing up.
On the other hand when I open Garageband and click the "loops" drop down menu; the following is listed, Garageband, jam Pack Remix Tools and jam pack Voices.
I have no clue whats going on. By the way I have Garageband 09 and Logic Pro 8
