How Good Is Lion With 3rd Party Applications?

Hello everyone, I was wondering how well Lion is running 3rd party applications? More specifically ProTools (LE)? I've heard a few rumors that Lion has been a little buggy with things like that, So I just thought I would ask before I go ahead and purchase it.

  • Update problem with 3rd party application

After I updated to 10.4.3, everythiing seemed to be working fine, but I noticed that Onyx does not run properly. It gives a syntax error. IM not sure if I should reinstall it, or try another third party application? Can anyone please suggest another application similar to this to help run maintenance scripts. Also in the mean time, coudl someone please post how to run these scripts through the Terminal? thank you

To run the scripts in terminal, type sudo periodic daily weekly monthly, enter your password, and wait for it to finish. To check when they were last run, ls -al /var/log/*.out
    Hope this helps!

  • Integrating log on with 3rd party application

    Hello friends,
I have developed a java web page which basically fetches the data from oracle application tables(simple employee information). Now I also want to insert some information into the apps tables(using the APIS) and before they try to change any data they should be logged into the oracle apps.
In this scenario when the user wants to change the data they just click on the Login button on the web page which will be available on this developed page. Now I want this login mechanism to be integrated with the E-business suite. Are there any apis to which I can pass the username and pwd information and which can validate the user credentials and then allow the update to be done.
Please note the data that I will be changing will be done in custom tables only. Basically I want to integrate the logging mechanism with the E-biz suite login credentials.
Can some one help. We are using 11.5.9 instance.
    Thanks

    Hi,
for what its worth I would push back on this to your end user, I have invoices interfaced in 'real time' from an exchange hub, but I only process them through the API in batch.
Unless they are 100% perfect it is more efficient to work in batches with invoices.
And unless the end users are 100% efficient I do not see what difference once a day makes - isn't that pretty much what they get with paper invoices by post, but without the 1 - 2 day delay...
    regards,
    Robert.

  • 3rd party Applications

How do I delete a 3rd party application. I installed an HP printer and it did not work. I want to uninstall the application and the associated programs. How do I delete them. I am new to the MAC

You can drag the application to the trash, but there could be some other crud that's installed that won't get deleted. This is quite likely with a printer installation, and especially with HP printers as they have tons of crud.
Try re-running the installer itself and seeing whether it offers an "uninstall" option. If not, go to HP's site where you got the drivers and look for uninstallation instructions.

    Hello Sandeep,
have you looked at these docs for Fusion Apps Financials / ERP Cloud?
    - Implementing Tax -- http://docs.oracle.com/cloud/latest/financialscs_gs/FAITX/toc.htm
    - Using Tax -- http://docs.oracle.com/cloud/latest/financialscs_gs/FAUTX/toc.htm
The "Implementing Tax" contains a chapter about integrations with 3rd party providers. Is this what you are looking for?  If not, could you clarify what you mean by "integration with 3rd party applications"?

  • How can I use a 3rd party XML parser such as xerces with OC4J ?

    Hi all tech experts,
I am using Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) and i have
installed Portal and Wireless and OracleAS Infrastructure on the same
    computer.
i tried all the solutions on this thread
Use of Xerces Parser in out application with Oracle App Server 9.0.4
    but still fighting.
I have also posted this query on OTN on following thread
How can I use a 3rd party XML parser such as xerces with OC4J?
    but no reply....
Please help me on this issue.
Since OC4J is preconfigured to use the Oracle XML parser which is xmlparserv2.jar.
i have read the following article which states that
OC4J is preconfigured to use the Oracle XML parser. The Oracle XML parser is fully JAXP 1.1 compatible and will serve the needs of applications which require JAXP functionality. This approach does not require the download, installation, and configuration of additional XML parsers.
The Oracle XML parser (xmlparserv2.jar) is configured to load as a system level library of OC4J through it's inclusion as an entry in the Class-Path entry of the oc4j.jar Manifest.mf file. This results in the Oracle XML parser being used for all common deployment and packaging situations. You are not permitted to modify the Manifest.mf file of oc4j.jar.
It must be noted that configuring OC4J to run with any additional XML parser or JDBC library is not a supported configuration. We do know customers who have managed to successfully replace the system level XML parser and the Oracle JDBC drivers that ship with the product, but we do not support this type of configuration due to the possibility of unexpected system behavior and system errors that might occur from replacing the tested and certified libraries.
If you absolutely must use an additional XML parser such as xerces, then you have to start OC4J such that the xerces.jar file is loaded at a level above the OC4J system classpath. This can be accomplished using the -Xbootclasspath flag of the JRE.
i have also run the following command
    java -Xbootclasspath/a:d:\xerces\xerces.jar -jar oc4j.jar
    but no success.
How could i utilize my jar's like xerces.jar and xalan.jar for parsing instead of OC4J in-built parser ?
All reply will be highly appreciated.
    Thnx in advance to all.

  • How do I manage open files in Server 2012 without resorting to 3rd party application?

How do I manage open files in Server 2012 without resorting to 3rd party application?
I cannot find the Mange open files in FSRM.
    Thanks

Wouldn't it make sense to place it in the server manager / shares section?
I mean, second to creating or finding a share, isn't this what most users would be after?
For like 20 years we've been trained to right click to find stuff Microsoft is hiding, and right click don't do nothin' here.  You gotta go hunting under tools.   Or, forget the new half-baked interface with half of what you need and go old school,
direct to Start - Computer..Right Click.. whoops... that doesn't exist anymore.....
Drool.........drool.............Find that hiding, blinking start button in a RDP session, click start after three trys,  and TYPE IN "Computer Management" .  Right Click, Pin it to your desktop, pin it to the start screen, pin it to the taskbar, send
it to OneNote, and upload it to skydrive  so you can find it again, then get back to what you were doing....to find the cottin' pickin open files and kick your users off so you can have your way with the server.

  • What is Oracle's recommendation of enabling a 3rd Party application for Online Patching? Is this a requirement with EBS R12.2 or is this something that can be done in phases for e.g.:

    Hello -
My Oracle Partner account uses Oracle EBS, Fusion Apps and is in the process of migrating from 10g to 11g;  forwarding their question here -
What is Oracle’s recommendation of enabling a 3rd
Party application for Online Patching? Is this a requirement with EBS R12.2 or
is this something that can be done in phases for e.g.
Phase 1: Oracle EBS utilizes Online patching while
the 3rd Party application does not leverage edition based
    redefinition for Online patching
Phase 2: 3rd Party application is modified
to leverage edition based redefinition Online patching mechanism.
I would appreciate any insight/recommendations you may have
regarding Online patching for EBS 12.2.

This seems to be related to EBS an may be better answered in the EBS forums as this forum is dedicated to Fusion.

  • Integration of SSO with Third Party Application

    Hello Colleagues,
I have requirement where I have to integrate SSO with a third party application.
After some R & D I found out that there is some one class "SSO2Ticket.java" which can do that or help in verify the ticket.
Since I am new to this area, I am not sure how do I go ahead with the execution of this java file.
Can somebody help me with this.
Also, is there any documents which talks about SSO integration or about the above mentioned JAVA file.
    Best regards,
    Arvind

Which type of 3rd party application is this, and which SSO authentication methods does it support?
If you can find a common one, then that will be good for you.
Specifically for non-SAP systems re-using the SAP LogonTickets, I know that you can extract the user name from the ticket. I think SAP even provides some verification tools here for external applications to verify the ticket?
Currently there is much excitement about SAML 2.0 which is also worth taking a look into as well.
    Cheers,

  • RFC( SAP R/3)  to  XI  to  3rd party Application

    Hi All,
we have an 3rd party application to which we want to send some data from R/3. We are using XI as the middleware. The process has to be triggered from R/3 side. We are not using Idoc's here. We are planing to use the RFC through which the data transfer has to be done.
We are creating a BAPI with import, export and tables parameters.Basically the RFC is in SAP R/3 System. We need to send the data in the table to XI.
In this case how the RFC destination has to be created and how the RFC to be called in the R/3 system to export the Data to XI system.
    Answers are highly appreciated.
    Thanx and Regards,
    Durga.

    Hi,
<i>>>>In this case how the RFC destination has to be created</i>
Check this blog by Michal it shows you step by step
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/29/configuring-the-sender-rfc-adapter--step-by-step
<i>>>>how the RFC to be called in the R/3 system to export the Data to XI system.</i>
Hope you are aware of normal way of calling function
    CALL Function "FM Name"
    Export
    Tables
in this case the RFC should be called as follows
CALL Function "FM Name" destination <SM59 Destination>
    Export
    Tables
The above is for Sync call and if you want to make a Async call that is you are not expecting any reponse from the target then
CALL Function "FM Name" IN BACKGROUND TASK destination <SM59 Destination>
    Export
    Tables
    Thanks,
    Prakash

    Hi
    <br>
This is a very generic question. There are some getting started guides available in the main XI section on SDN, and also some step-by-step guides in the wiki section. A quick search will get you tons of information.
    <br>
The choice of connectivity and interfacing communication channel is really dependent on the capabilities of the third party system.
    <br>
Also, to get good results on this forum, please read the <a href="https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/HOME/RulesofEngagement">rules of engagement</a>

  • Communication of Illustrator with Third Party Application (MFC).

    Hi all,
I want to use illustrator's APIs into MFC application. How can I do this?
I searched a lot and found that, it could happen using COM Interface of Illustrator Type Library.
so I included Illustrator CS5 Type Library and import "ScriptingSupport.aip".
When I build the project it will create a "scriptingsupport.tlh" which contains the Forward references and typedefs in Illustrator Namespace.
I have created a window application in MFC containing a button.
OnButtonClick I wanted to access Illustrator APIs but I am unable to do it. I have tried like this:
    Illustrator::_ApplicationPtr ptr;
    //some script.
    ptr->DoJavaScript(....);
In this case I am not able to find out how to get instance of _ApplicationPtr in ptr variable.
Please help me if anybody have any idea.
