How has this product actually been released to the public?

We purchased CC for our company and have had nothing but problems with it.
Running Windows 7 32bit OS, 8gb ram.
Constant signing out issues, constant signing in issues, connection errors ('Cant connect to the web, please try again' messages), download errors 'please try again or contact support'.
I don't want work arounds, I want real fixes. This is ridiculous. Paying for something that you have to fix yourself is a horrendous business model.

    You can tap the word to hear it. It's clearly a widget right? But it doesn't behave like a normal html widget - it's full screen right from the start and doesn't have the x in the corner

    Try using a Keynote widget and check 'Full-Screen Only'.
    Make a slideshow in Keynote, then build a landscape-only book.

    Here is some helpful information regarding preorder albums in iTunes.  I would recommend checking to see if you can download the single directly from the preorder album as some artists release a single that is separate from the album and will be a different purchase.

    Thanks for your prompt reply. However, the sources you gave do not seem to apply exactly to my situation. I have attached some screenshots that show what the dialogue box looks like for a pdf download, and what my settings in the Apps panel of Options are. You will note in the first screenshot that I have checked the box to handle this file type automatically; however, the next time I try to download a file of that type, the same dialogue box appears looking exactly like the one shown, so checking the "automatic" option appears to do nothing. The files to be downloaded from my Gmail messages are not generic or altered file types - they are shown as pdf, doc, docx, etc. So while your intent was good, your post did not help. Thanks anyway.

  • This product is not available in the Australian Store

    I've moved from the UK to Australia and changed my Apple ID from a UK account to an Australian account (i.e. changing CC and address details).
    I've found however that certain content that I've purchased from the UK Store is not available in the Australian Store. The first example I've noticed is Iron Man 3 - so now when I'm attempting to download the movie, I get "This product is not available in the Australian Store" an am unable to download the content.
    What's the recourse in this situation? Is there any way to download the content without changing back to the UK Store?

    It is a violation of the itunes store terms of use to use the U.K. itunes store unless you are located inside the borders of the U.K.
    Cloud is no substitute for a backup.  You should always maintain a backup copy of everything that you do not want to lose.

    I was looking at the source code for apples site and found this

    so it seams their entire navigation bar is done with a single image file
    Individual parts of the bar respond to events such as mouse overs with image swaps (as you can see from that link the bar has 4 possible states)
    what i want to know is this
    how can individual sections of the bar have an image swap when the only image they have is an image of the entire bar
    I can think of one way but i dont know if this is what they have done or not
    each section is its own DIV/ list item/ Span tag (whatever they used) and each section links to the file but offsets it with absolute positioning and overflow hidden so that only the relevant part appears? but if this is what they have done how have they made the mouseover effect work in the same way?

    1) a single image file has a fixed width and height, ofen a DIV does not - this is the reason why we use DIVs not tables.
    Huh?  Tables have no fixed height either.  But the reason has nothing to do with the going in statement.  Sorry I don't get your point here.
    sometimes a site will set a background to repeat. but this only works when you need the exact same colour repeated over and over. If the image is a complex one then applying it to a canvas without a fixed size wont work unless you are willing to stretch and distort the image.
    <shrug>  I don't understand either the content of the paragraph or what its relevance is to this discussion.
    2) if your using a single image to give you all the background images you have a lot of  "white" or "transparent" area, this ammount to extra data that has to be downloaded.
    WHAT?  We are talking about using a single image for a sprite-based rollover.  That's all.  And whitespace adds NOTHING to the page's weight or bandwidth....  Sorry - I'm not grasping where you are trying to go here.

  • Mystery- how has my old nano been updated with my new playlists in iTunes when I haven't synced it?

    I got given a 2gb nano in 2005, which I filled up with imported cd music, not wanting an Apple account and not wanting to pay for music that I already have on cd (was in music industry for years, and like to own the physical product rather than a download that then needs backing up). Anway, lovely bf has bought me a 7th gen 160gb pod for Xmas, so I was merrily organising playlists and preparing to load the whole 45gb of music onto my new shiny ipod. Got my old nano out yesterday, and found that all the playlists that were there have been replaced by the first few new playlists I've made in iTunes. I am not using Match, or thieving Cloud, and I haven't had the nano anywhere near the computer for the last 3 or 4 years! I don't remember registering the nano with Apple, but the new one has definitely been registered (several conversations with Apple because Amazon sent us a "new" iPod that had already been opened, language and clock set to Australian time (the London clock said 9.47pm  YESTERDAY), and replaced it with another "new" one with the same issues (replacement hadn't even been shrinkwrapped, just the bare and slightly battered box).
    Is this something that the cloud has done? And if so, how come it's done it to my baby nano, and not to the new Classic 160gb? It means it ran out of space, so effectively it's wiped off all the music that has been on there for years, and replaced it with as much as it could fit on, working from the top of the playlist list........
    Having read about how the cloud nicks things and won't let you access them if you disconnect from cloud (not that I'm aware of having connected to the **** thing anyway), I'm now going to have to do a back up so that when I tell cloud to bog off, I can still copy any missing music back into iTunes.
    Has anyone got an explanation for how my nano's content has been changed without me doing anything except changing my playlists in iTunes, and has it happened to anyone else?
    Also, why did nobody at Apple stop to thing that "pushing" data to all your Apple devices is bound to cause problems when each device's capacity is so different from the others? My iPad is the first and small one (32gb I think), the nano is 2gb, my new Pod is 160gb, and what's in iTunes is 35gb. It's also tried to put my music library onto the iPad, announced there wasn't room (I had already selectively downloaded some music on to it when I got it 2 years ago), and wiped off all the music that was on that. It currently says there's nothing on it BUT also says it's full. I'm not very happy with Apple at the moment!
    The only device listed in iTunes is the iPad, dated as Xmas 2010. Should I remove that from there?
    iTunes is ALWAYS set to "prevent automatic sync" because until now, I haven't had a device with sufficient capacity to put the whole library on to, so even if I had plugged the nano in, I would have had to have selected the whole library in order for this mysterious over-writing to have happened.
    Answers, anyone?

    When iTunes removed the ping feature they replaced it with an internal check on feeds - based on the frequency of new episodes - so your feed may take a week or more to show up the changes.

    Looking at your feed it is showing a last build date of 5/26/2012 - so the next time iTunes checks your feed it should update your info. 
    But since it has been since 2010 since your last update - you do need to wait a bit before iTunes checks your feed again.

  • Resubmitting fixed Podcasts, has this problem ever been addressed?

    Last week I got the standard email from [email protected] informing me that my Podcast Erotic Hypnosis: Tales of Evilena had been removed from the directory. I quickly found the error and fixed it. Now feedvalidator.org lists http://www.hypnosis.st/podcasts/storycast.xml as being valid. When I tried to resubmit my Podcast I got the error message that the Podcast was already in the directory.
    After reading through this forum and spending a long time searching for the answer with Google, it seems that this is a common problem that Apple has not yet addressed. Am I correct in this assumption or have any of you found a way to fix this?
    I read that the official fix for this is to fill out Apple's help form and wait a month or more for them to fix it. This turnaround time is too long to be acceptable in a fast paced medium like Podcasting. I received an incredible response from my Podcast in only three weeks. If I have to wait longer than that to fix the problem, I believe I would be better off starting from scratch. In fact, one website suggests that the best way to quickly fix this error is to add an extra character to the Podcast's title. I really don't want to have to do this because I don't want to lose all the momentum from my first three weeks. Last week I was listed in "New and Notable" which I consider a great honor because it means that someone at Apple likes what I am doing. I was also listed in the top 20 in Arts>Literature and #53 overall in Arts. I would greatly appreciate a solution to this problem that will allow me to continue from where I left off.
    Lastly, I want to personally thank everyone in Podcast producing communit for creating quality content and contributing to the exponential growth of the medium.

    Well, rather than losing time waiting for us or Apple to suggest something that Apple can fix on their end, I'd bite the bullet and start your podcast as a new title, or a new URL. You've already lost over a week waiting for an answer here. Make sure you always validate your feed before pinging the iTunes server, since you don't want them to drop you again.
    Ask your web host if you can set up an alias from your new feed to your old feed. Then anyone that subscribed to your feed at the old URL will still get the updated content. Good luck, Mike

    it would seem that my apple id was used to sign in on the "find my phone" app on someone else's iPad mini. My iCloud password was changed which meant I had to reset it and, of course, leads me to wonder what is there to stop this happening again?

  • HP Officejet 6000 - Does this product actually work?

    My trusty 840 recently expired after a long and troublefree life. I decided to buy an HP OfficeJet 6000 and wished to hell I had not. Tried to print a DL envelope and all it does is spit it out unprinted. Cannot find any reference in the software to selecting this size despite it being in common use in the UK and continent of Europe. If I try to select a range of pages ie 2-3 or highlight current page it prints the lot or just the last page depending on its temperament. Instructions on the web movie contradict the instructions on the printer itself. Mention is made of clicking on "more" in printer setup but no "More" button to be found. Have tried to print using both XP and Windows 7 and it fails on both. Clicked online support but the links fail to come up with the right questions so how can answers be obtained. Would love someone from HP to respond as I am fast losing my patience with this pile of C**P
