How I can download my pictures from memory stick pro duo to my mac?

I purchase my first iMac a couple months ago and bassically everything is new for me.
I want to start dowloading pictures and videos to my iPhoto but I notice that my video camera memory card fits in the reader I purchase iVI to be able to transfer all my videos to my mac and honestly really hard and lots of steps but now from my sony camera, the memory stick pro duo doesn't fit in the reader so I purchase a Tangus adapter and the memory card fits in it but when I connecterd to the USB port noting happend, do I have the right adater? Which is the best way to do all the downloading video and picture process easier...
My question is: How can I start downloading all my pictures from my memory stick pro duo?

Have you tried connecting your camera directly to the iMac using the correct cable? If you provide more information about the camera you are using we can provide recommendations on which cable to use if you don't already have one.
If the Tangus adapter is working then you should be able to open a Finder menu and see the memory card listed in the left column under the 'Devices' section. If you click on it the files should show up. If you launch the iPhoto application it should see the memory stick and give you the opportunity to load the images. Depending on how your preferences are set, iPhoto will automatically launch whenever you connect the camera or a memory stick that has photos on it.
In order to find out whether your iMac sees the Tangus adapter pull down the Apple menu and select 'About this Mac...' When the new window opens click on the 'More Info...' button, then click on the 'System Report...' button. A new window will open listing all of the attributes for your system. Click on the 'USB' section in the Hardware column located on the left side of the window. This will display the USB device tree which includes all of the USB devices connected internally and externally to your iMac. Do you see an entry for your Tangus adapter? You can click on each device to obtain more detailed information if you aren't sure which device is which. If the Tangus adapter isn't visible then the adapter may be bad. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the adapter to a different USB port, then press the command-R keys to refresh the USB device tree. If the adapter appears then you may have had a bad connection or a problem with the port. If it still doesn't appear then test the adapter on another computer or take it back to the place of purchase to exchange the adapter.

  • How to download photos from memory stick pro duo

I have an older Sony digital camera that uses a memory stick pro duo.  I have the apple camera connection kit but my memory stick does not fit in it.  What is the easiest way to download photos from it to my iPad?

You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import.

  • How do I download a picture from my Macbook Pro to a website?

OK, maybe I'm missing something obvious, but I can't figure it out.  I was updating my medical information, which is a website, and there is a place to download a picture of myself.  I clicked on browse and it opened up Finder.  So far, so good.  I then clicked on pictures in finder and it open up some cryptic folders. One of these folders is iPhoto which is where to picture is located.  If I clck on iPhoto it opens up another set of cryptic folders. At this point I gave up.  Why in the H*** does Apple make something that is so easy on a Windows machine, so difficult?  Any help would be appreciated.

It appears that you are browsing folders within iPhoto library, rather than Library itself.
When you click Browse you want to go to your Photos option under "Media" list in the sidebar (see screenshot). That is where you can select your iPhoto and project/picture.
What you could also do most of the time is to drag the photo from iPhoto directly onto "Browse" button in your browser

  • I have bought the iPad 3 and created an iCloud account.  How do I download the data from my Macbook pro to my desktop Mac?

Please help me.  I want to sync all of my data on my iPad 3, my Macbook Pro and my Mac Desktop.  I have created an iCloud account and what I see on my Macbook Pro is also on my iPad. How do I now download the data which I think is on my iCloud account to my Mac Desktop?
I have already gone into preferences on my desktop, found the iCloud and set up my preferences under my account.  Am I missing something?
I would hate to have to take my desktop to an Apple store.  Thank you in advance for all of your help.

This forum is for questions about Apple Remote Desktop, Apple's software for managing networked Mac systems, and hence not the best place for your question. I'd suggest asking for assistance in the iCloud forums.
    Regards.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

How can I transfer pictures from my MacBook Pro to my iPad mini please?

If you are on iTunes 11 on your Mac then you may want to re-enable the left-hand sidebar via View > Show Sidebar, which might make it easier to navigate and may instructions may make more sense.
To sync photos, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes (if you've enabled the sidebar), and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
If you haven't enabled the sidebar, then from your library click 'iPad' at the top right of the screen and you should get a series of buttons along the top of the screen, including one for Photos

  • How do i download a picture from my scanner and put it on photoshop thank you

how do i download a picture from my scanner and put it on photoshop thank you

You don't "download" anything, and you don't put anything "on Photoshop".
You save your image in your scanning application using whatever file format supported by Photoshop you want (PSD, TIFF, PNG, JPEG, etc.), and save it in whatever folder on your computer you want.
Then you use Photoshop to open your image file wherever you put it.

  • How do i import photos/videos from sony memory stick pro duo stick to my imac

I want to import photos from my Sony memory stick pro duo to iMac. My imac has SD card reader but not sure whether it reads photos from memory stick pro..
i bought this iMac in May 2011. I believe this model doesn't support Memory stick pro..can some one clarify ..thanks.

    The short answer is.. No.
    You need one of these...
... Or if your Camera allows for it, you can connect your camera to your Mac via mini USB cable. iPhoto should open automatically once it detects that a Digital Camera has been connected.

  • My MacBook Pro has an SDXC card slot. I insert a SanDisk Memory Stick Pro Duo into slot but nothing happens and I can't find anything through finder or in utilities. Am I missing something or is it a faulty reader?

The SD card slot ois for SD cards not Memory Sticks. hat is why nothing is happening. you will need a Memory stick reader that connects to one of the USB ports.

  • Memory stick pro duo?

I've been searching for an 8GB memory stick pro duo for Sony HDR-CX7 camcorder. But, I noticed the price range is so broad... They range anywhere from $70 to $140...
Are there any differences even they are all labeled the same 8GB memory stick? They seem to be all Sony brands, but just that the prices vary so much... Can I just get the cheapest available? Would that be a problem?
    Thanks.

Nevermind... I just found out that there is a transfer rate (minimum of 15mbps vs. maximum of 480mbps) difference for double the price... at least for 4GB memory sticks... I don't think there is a faster transfer rate 8GB memory though...

  • Satellite M60-104 - memory card reader does not read memory stick pro duo

I know it should read memory stick pro but not sure about pro duo.

    Hi
    >the built in card reader on my laptop does not recognize/read sony's memory stick pro duo - is this normal or not?
Of course this could be normal behavior because not all cards are compatible and supported.
I would recommend taking look into the user manual because there you can find a information which cards can be used in the notebooks card reader!!!

  • Sony memory stick pro duo

I recently purchased the HP dm4-2070us. Does the multimedia port work with the sony memory stick pro duo? The adaptor does not lock-in or read the card? Thoughts?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

It does not read Memory Stick card family and the Card reader on the Notebook supports only the following digital card formats -
    MultiMediaCard
    Secure Digital Card
Secure Digital High Capacity Memory Card (standard and large size)
If you still want to read a memory stick pro duo, just buy a USB memory card reader which are available for very cheap in market which would would serve your purpose.
