AVI is a wrapper, what is inside YOUR wrapper - Exactly what is INSIDE the video you are editing?

How to import a ".rec" format to Adobe Premiere?
I have got a few files like these:
And I can't import these to Adobe Premiere (or even to a different software like Sony Vegas Pro). These ".rec" files can be opened in Windows Movie Player in my system Windows 8 on my PC without any troubles. What shoud I do to can import this to Adobe Premiere? This is a format form a cinema, so any conversion isn't possible. How can I import this kind of files? I can't see any codecs in internet too.

Took about three minutes to find another rec - to - mpeg converter,

You need to export in this format also? It's a rather uncommon one, I'd note ... just curious about the use. I see it's a "private" codec by Topfield for their DVR tv-signal recording boxes. I can see why you have stuff in that codec to work on, but still, why you'd want to export in a codec that most gear/programs can't use is a puzzlement.

  • Problems importing AVI with DV codec to Premiere Pro

Problems importing AVI with DV codec to Premiere Pro  (720x564 px, 32 kHz stereo, 24.4 bitrate)
I can't import that video. What can I do?

    Svanur,
I agree with Harm. The specs. do not match up correctly. Where did those AVI files come from?
I assume that you are working in PAL-land (and not NTSC-land). Is that correct?
What platform are you working on, Mac, or PC?
When you attempt to Import those AVI files, what is the exact error message that you are getting?
    Good luck,

  • How do i import director 7 files into current premiere pro

how do i import director 7 files into current premiere pro
I have a project created in Macromedia Director 7. I was told by sales that this would import into Premere Pro.
However I have no Idea how! Any help would be appreciated.

I'm happy to announce to you all that my "mp4 importing" issues has been sorted out. Now I import mp4 shot with the same Windows Phone 8 Device into Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. Only that for the moment, it doesn't play as fast as with ordinary player.
    But how did I get it to work, you may wonder;
I simply installed Itunes on the system, I also installed an app called media monkey. I can't say which of the apps did the magic but the next time I tried to import mp4 files into Premiere Pro after these installations, it imported seamlessly.
Obviously there's a link between the required codecs and the itunes itself.
You may want to try it and hope it works for you.
Kindly inform us if it works.
    Thank you all.
    Cheers.

  • How to properly configure a graphics card for Adobe Premiere Pro, SpeedGrade, and After Effects?

Alright, so I have the following system configuration:
    2 NVIDIA Geforce GTX 970s
    5960X CPU
    MSI X99 Gaming 7 Motherboard
    32 GB DDR4 RAM
256 GB and 1TB Samsung 850 Pro SSDs
Basically, although I have the whole system built together, I'm unsure how to check and know whether or not Adobe Premiere Pro is actually using the graphics card or not.  I know that it has to be using some of it, otherwise it wouldn't launch properly (as I discovered from a recent experience.)  However, I don't know if there are, perhaps, certain settings within the NVIDIA control panel that should be configured so that Premiere Pro can use the card to its full potential.  Here is an example of what I'm talking about:
In other words, these are (I'm pretty sure) all of the default settings that the control panel applies to Premiere Pro.  However, I'm not sure if there are any settings in here that I need to change or not.  So what I'm looking for in a response to this question:
What settings, if any, should I change for Premiere Pro (as well as other adobe applications that can utilize all the strength of the GTX 970)?
How can I check the GPU activity to know that it's being used during a render?  (For example, I can check the CPU utilization with the Task Manager while I render to see that it's being utilized to 100%).
If, perhaps, something else goes wrong and even with the right settings, let's say the card still isn't being fully utilized, what other settings might I have to change to make sure that the GTX 970 is being fully used by Adobe Premiere Pro/After Effects/SpeedGrade CC 2014?

If you want a benchmark to measure the performance of Premiere Pro's utilization of  your: disk system, GPU and CPU use our Premiere Pro BenchMark (PPBM)
When you finish running the test and then run the script, you will get this report
This happens to be the result of my laptop (with SSD drives and a GTX 765M GPU)
The disk performance is self explanatory.
Number 2 is a seven layer very complex timeline with heavy CPU and GPU assistance, without GPU hardware acceleration (CPU only) it would take greater than 1350 seconds.
Three above is a measure of a exaggerated timeline using many, many GPU MPE accelerated effects and features that will use a GPU at 99% load (54 seconds above) and a CPU only export of the same timeline (802 seconds).
If you want to compare your results to others you have to register on the PPBM7 site to see the results.
EDIT! I corrected the number in 2 above originally I said 900 seconds but really it was greater than 1350 seconds

  • Can I import I-life files into Adobe Premiere Pro CS4?

Okay, so not exactly an Apple question, but there are so many smart, helpful people on here, and the Adobe forum doesn' t seem very active.
I recently got Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 (the movie editing software).  I tried to import files from I-photo, but those folders wouldn't even open.  Tried to import files from the movie folder, which were in .mpg format, but got a message that it is an incompatible format.
Those were just simple movie files taken with a small digital camera.  Does anyone know how I could use this footage in Adobe Pro?  I have access to other Adobe software as well, perhaps there is a way to convert the files?  If I try to import something to Adobe from I-movie, should that work?  Or from I-DVD?  Also, is it possible, with Adobe or regular Mac software, to import regular DVD footage (that is not in form of a computer file, but just something that plays in your DVD player) or perhaps convert it into a computer file?  I have some old VHS footage that was copied onto a DVD and would like to edit it, or at least have it on my computer as a file.
Also, if I can't use those files, are there any places on the internet where one can download some simple footage to try out in Adobe?  I'm new to it, so I'm just trying to get some files together so I can try out how it works.
Lastly, if anyone knows of a good online tutorual for CS4.  It's an older version, and on the Adobe site they only have tutorials for the newer one.
    Thanks!

This is a forum. None of the users here -at least not to my knowledge - are Adobe professional
Ninety-nine point nine percent correct. We are blessed with a few Adobe employees here, unlike some fora, but those folk are probably at NAB right now. Also, they are in other departments, so would have to walk "down the hall," or make a call, just as we would.
When it gets to issues on licensing, installation, etc., we're pretty much at a loss. Most of us have never encountered such issues, and only know what we have read in others' threads, when they have bothered to report back. Even then, that is third-hand info.
Last time that I had an Adobe installation issue was AI 3, IIRC. My upgrade version did not have the old database of S/N's. Mine was 00-000-003, and things had changed drastically. One call to Adobe, and a total time of about 5 mins. (including hold time), and I was given a number to plug in, and then everything installed perfectly. That was in about 1989, so is not quite contemporary. Still, that is the last and only first-person account that I can offer. Most here have zero personal experiences, as they came to the party later, and have just not had any such issues.
We'd love to help, but just do not have the experience.
    Good luck,

  • Where can I download a trial for Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 Middle East version

    Hello
I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro CS4
Now I am working with new project which requires me to add some titles in Arabic (I mean from right-to-left direction)
Please how can I do so?
Does it requires me to get a new copy for middle east? or I can do it with some how using my current version?
Please consider it important and needed.

I do not mean the interface or anything a like.
But I only mean to suport or enabling titles written in Arabic language like this (بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم)
We do have Adobe Photoshop CS4 ME (not mine but my company has it and it support adding Arabic as I've mentioned above)
So I was looking for to see Adobe Premiere have the same thing.
    Thanks,
I'll add the feature request as you recommended.

  • Motion JPEG AVI codec unsupported by Adobe Premiere Pro CS4?

    Hello everyone,
First of all I must say English isn't my native language. Forgive me if I make any spelling mistakes or if I write inpolitely, it's not on intention.
I have a couple of videos made with a camera. The videos have an .avi extension and have a Motion JPEG codec. I can watch them on my computer just fine with both Windows Media Player as Winamp or Quicktime. However, when I try to use them in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, the videos are stuck after a few frames (half a second), even though the sound continues fine. I'm completely sure this is Adobe Premiere Pro's problem, as they DO work fine in Adobe After Effects CS4. I've tried converting the videos to another codec, but no matter what settings I use there's always much quality loss.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem in Premiere? I have read the following document: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/166/tn_16612.html but I don't understand it at all, I'm not used to working with the Propery Inspector or Lingo. If anyone could explain this document to me that would be fine too.
    Thank you in advance,
    Bib-lost25

Very well, I installed it and it seems to be working great, thanks a lot. Just a few more questions.
After 60 days, will the codec stop functioning? Will I have to download another one or buy it?
And, when editing video in Adobe Premiere Pro, there is a strange white blob in the upper right corner of my video and I can't get rid of it. It's not nice to have these on top of your videos. Can I get rid of it?
That's about it. If you can answer these two questions you'll get your 'correct answer' .
    Thank you,
    Bib-lost25

  • Rendering white flicker on the program monitor and output video file. How to get rid of this flicker in adobe premiere pro cc 2014?

    Hello,
I have been working with long sequences in adobe premiere pro cc 2014. All of sudden, I see white flicker in the program monitor and rendered output too. The flicker does not follow any pattern. It is very random.
How to work around on this?
    Regards
    Naveen Alle

Concurrently working on the same project it requires a specific implementation in all editing programs like Avid's Unity/ ISIS shared storage. That's what you are simply not considering. none of your issues would be any problem if your projects resided on a commonly accessed server or something like that. Check respective hardware solutions.

  • FCP 10.1 DV capturing from camera breaking the scenes into unwanted clips by flashing a black screen on import window. But its fine and accurate with adobe premiere pro cc ? Any solution * Advance Thanks

FCP 10.1 DV capturing from camera breaking the scenes into unwanted clips by flashing a black screen on import window. But its fine and accurate with adobe premiere pro cc ?
    Any solution * Advance Thanks

FCP X will import into separate clips every time it detects a scene change (as when you stopped and started recording in the camera). There is no option to avoid this, as far as I known.
You may try importing from camera using Quicktime Player X and then bringing the imported file into FCP X.

  • How to work on Closed caption option in adobe premiere pro x6?

Guys how to work on closed caption videos in adobe premiere x6 i have tried many times but could n`t get how to use this option?

In older versions of Premiere Pro, you are required to attach closed caption sidecar files to the Sequence. Here is one tutorial that runs through a possible workflow.

  • Can I export an .mp4 file created by Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 to tape using alternative software?

I am editng with Premiere Pro CS4 on a Windows XP system.  I attempt to disable all startup and background software .  When i export a one hour completed project to tape, I invariably get at least one glitch (momentary stop) on the resulting tape. Is there an alternate program I can use to export to tape an .mp4 file created by CS4?

Could be wrong, but as far as I know the only way to "export" to tape is to PLAY the timeline while the camera is connected via Firewire and in record mode
