How I can upload all my music CDs from my laptop's itunes to the iCloud? I want to free up space on my laptop and thought the iCloud was a storage site.

It's a syncing service, not a storage site.  You can access your CD music from iCloud you have to subscribe to iTiunes Match: http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/.

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
    Note:
Also consider Deleting any Apps you have Purchased / Downloaded but you now never use...

How can I access my music library from a laptop on the road, as if my PC is not active? I tunes is installed on both PC and Home Sharing is enabled on both devices.

The key constraint for Home Sharing in this context is that both PCs need to be on the same wifi network. So once you get out of range of the wifi network covering your home PC, the laptop is not going to be able to Home Share.
Have you considered importing your iTunes music to the laptop? Then you could listen to a local copy of the music on the laptop while you're on the road. (You can do the import via home sharing when both computers are on the same wifi network.)

It doesn't say anything. It runs through the sync process like normal and tells me all of the songs that it's synking. But then when it says I can disconnect it, nothing actually synked.

  • I restored my ipod after backing it up but now all my music and apps that are in itunes on the computer will not sync

i restored my ipod after backing it up but now all my music and apps that are in itunes on the computer will not sync across

Did you restore the iPod on this computer?
What exactly happens when you try to sync?
    Does iTunes see the iPod?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?

anyone know how I can transfer the music on my old ihone 5 to my new one through itunes?

  • How do I get all my music library from my iPad to iMac after hard drive replacement?

Recently my iMac hard drive crashed and was replaced with a new one.  Thankfully the entire music library was still on my iPad.  However, with the new hard drive, iTunes will only let me move over the purchased tracks from the iPad to the iMac.  This is not good since most of our music was purchased on CD and loaded into iTunes.  iTunes states that you can only sync with one computer and the iPad is showning a different library than my iMac.  How do I fix this?  Apple is holding my legally purchased music hostage!

No, they aren't holding it hostage. You are relying upon Apple to provide a service  you should be doing by backing up your computer properly.
Some of the information below is summarized by turingtest2 in the post at https://discussions.apple.com/message/18842615
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer is designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • Who Can tell me how I Can remove all my foto's from my I Pad ?

Since 3years I asked it everwhere..    But,nobody helps,..  .even the Apple shops, did not help
THE shop where I bought my IPad in BRUGES (BELGIUM) told me to ask my grandchildren to help me!!!   Is there somebody in this discussionsite who also has the first IPad,and know how to remove THE foto's?

Photo come to the iPad is more than one way and are deleted differently depending on how they got to the iPad. I'm assuming you want to remove all photos that you see in the photos app.
Photos that were taken with the iPad or copied from emails or websites are stored in the Camera Roll album in the Photos app. These can all be deleted directly. Find the view that has the thumbnail or miniature photos of everything in the Camera Roll album. Tap on Select then tap on each photo you want to delete. Then tap on Trash or the Trashcan icon. The photos will be deleted.
Photos in albums that were created from photos in the Camera Roll can be deleted the same way. In fact deleting them from the Camera Roll will delete them in all albums where they may be displayed.
Photos in albums that were copied to the iPad by syncing with a computer are deleted by doing another sync. If you have the computer that was used originally to sync with connect the iPad to that computer and start iTunes on the computer. Select the iPad in iTunes on the computer and select the photos tab in the main window of iTunes. Deselect any photo albums you see there. Then click on Apply or Sync and the deselected albums will be deleted from your iPad but they will remain on the computer.
If the albums were previously removed from the computer and do not appear in the list of selected albums, go ahead and sync anyway. That will still delete any albums that were originally copied from a computer but which no longer reside there.

  • How do I import all my music into a fresh install of iTunes?

I just installed Windows 7 and iTunes and did something stupid. Before installing iTunes, I moved all my music files (completely intact as the "iTunes Music" folder) into the proper location on my C: drive so iTunes would detect them.
But during the iTunes installation I left the option checked to have iTunes automatically search for mp3/aac files, so what this did was add all my music twice (the first because it just read them from the location, and the second because it re-searched for everything).
So I just deleted everything from iTunes and then did "Add Folder" and chose the iTunes Music folder. Well, this put all my music back into iTunes, but it did not reinstate my playlists. More importantly, it did not carry over my song ratings!
Please tell me what I need to do at this point so that iTunes detects my music just as it was before I reformatted! Do I need to reinstall iTunes, or is there some other way?
    Thanks!

Please tell me what I need to do at this point so that iTunes detects my music just as it was before I reformatted! If it's in iTunes, it has detected it all.
Well, this put all my music back into iTunes, but it did not reinstate my playlists. More importantly, it did not carry over my song ratings!
If you want your rating and playlists, you will need to copy your entire iTunes folder before you reformat and reinstall your OS.
Before installing iTunes, I moved all my music files (completely intact as the "iTunes Music" folder)
Yo should copy your iTunes folder, not only the iTunes music folder inside the iTunes folder.
Ratings and playlist are contained in the iTunes library.itl file in the iTunes folder.

  • Can you manage a single library from two Pcs with iTunes at the same time?

    Dear all,
I have a laptop and a desktop pc. Currently all my music and itunes are on the laptop. My laptop hard disk is filling up, so i want to move all the music off to the desktop. And yes i'd like to keep all the music in one location on the desktop pc. But ideally i'd like to be able to import new music to the library from both PCs, and also be able to modify the playlists and other details from both PCs. I looked at Sharing but that doesn't seem to let the non-owner to change the playlists....
Any ideas how i can set this up?
    Thanks a lot, Dave

The AE has multiple ports that can be expanded using hubs that we can hopefully connect the existing 3 TV sources, and can receive / transmit to multiple computers but can it operate the iTunes, internet distribution, and TV output (with switching TV inputs via the iMac & AE Utility) at the same time or do we need multiple AEs and another computer?
The AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) does not have a TV or video output.
The AEBS, just like any other router, supports multiple clients simultaneously. Of course there is always bandwidth limitations for any device. So in theory the AEBS can support all of that. In reality the performance of each service will depend on the bandwidth used by each and the bandwidth available. This is no different than any router.
