How I configure Public Folder

How I can configure Public Folders with the Oracle Calendar Server. I have Installed the Outlook Connector, and for a moment i could see the public folders. How I don't. Why?
Have anyone an Idea ?
best regards
patrick u.

Did you only configure the Calendar settings? If so the public folders go away. If you configure the mail settings also, the public folders will appear.

  • Myrio how to use public folder

    Hi
I have a My-Rio 1900, and i want to grap images from a usb cam, and show it on a web page that myrio will host.
first i thout, easy just add a webservice that give you a jpeg picture when request the page.
never got that to work, since i realised that if i had multible uses they would each get a dirrent picture, and i never got it to work.
So i thougt what if i insted have a program run that graps the images, and saves one every sec as a jpeg and have a public html file where i link to the picture. then all useser would get the same picture and my load on the myrio would be less.
i then first tested it on my computer and it worked. but when i then wanted to go from my computer to myrio i encountered a problem, since to make a public folder on your projekt you normaly right click and add a web service, then you right click agian and say add public folder and you then need to select a folder.
but how do i select a folder on myrio? i added a flash drive also, but i can´t select myrio as public folder. i can select things on my computer but not local....anyone have a sugestion?
i know how to mount drives but i do not expect that i first need to mount thoug a ftp my local myrio and then in windows tell that is my public folder....

  • Office 365: Configure Public Folder for a Hybrid Deployment

    All,
I am going to sync the public folder from exchange 2010 to
office 365. We have a Exchange hybrid 2013. Based on this article below,
    it states:
"If your public folders are on Exchange 2010 or
later servers, then you need to install the Client Access Server role on
all mailbox servers that have a public folder database. "
    We
have HA CAS on Exchange 2010. I am not sure anything happens that I
install the CAS on mailbox server.  Please give me your advices on this
    situation.
on the other hand, I have ideas in my mind that I can
copy the public folders databases on Exchange 2010 to Exchange hybrid
2010 which has the CAS role and mailbox role.
Please assist me with these situations.
    Thanks,

  • How to Remove Public Folder Replicas?

I am unable to remove the Public Folder Database . Every time I try, I get the error:
The public folder database specified contains folder replicas.
Before deleting the public folder database, remove the folders
or move the replicas to another public folder database.
The public folder database has no Public Folders in it - it is completely empty. I've set replication to "Never" but I still get this error. The UI does not expose the replica list and the set-PublicFolder command does not
have a provision for having an empty parameter for the -Replicas switch.
I can't just simply delete the database itself since then the Exchange Uninstall will fail the pre-checks and won't uninstall and I need the roles removed, etc. from the registry.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

had the same issue with this script as kenaska.  Use the Microsoft suggested commands on this page to remove both user and system public folders, and then you can remove the database.  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201664%28v=exchg.140%29.aspx

  • Move Mailbox database and Public Folder database from VMwar RDM drive to VMware VMFS/VMDK Drive

    Good Afternoon,
So I have 1 DAG with 3 mailbox server (1 physical and 2 Virtual (vmware)).  The Vmware server Mailbox and Public folder databases/logs are currently on RDM drive.  I need to get rid of the RDM drives and use VMFS/Vmdk drives for mailbox and public
folder databases.  I was thinking 3 options:
1- Introduce new VM Members into DAG and simply give these new VMs VMFS/VMDK drives, add servers into DAG and have DAG replicate databases to new server.  I really don't want to do this.
2-On current VM, delete RDM drive along with database, add VMFS/VMDK drive replacement and have the DAG copy database.
3- On current VM, suspend replication, copy database/logs in temp location, delete the RDM drive, create the VMFS/VMDK drive, copy the database and logs to new drive, enable replication.  Do the same for public folder database/logs, but not sure how
to stop/start replications, since its not in DAG?
I'm looking for solution that will take least amount of time.  Option 3 seems best solution, but not sure if there any gotchas.. What are you thought??
Thanks in advance for you help

Take the database offline means stop replications to the the passive mailbox server?
Also, what is procedure to take public folder offline.  We have public folder replicated on all 3 servers.
    Hi cuttabutta,
Yes, take the database offline on the passive server can stop replication from primary server.
you can also take the public folder database offline to stop replication.
In addition, you can refer to the following article to configure public folder replication:

  • Public Folder Deletion/Removal and Replication

    Hi All
    Overview:
I have a single DAG with 3 Members with all roles on each server, each has a Public Folder and is replicated, ie; PF1, PF2 & PF3
the edb on PF1 has grown very large compared to the other 2 almost out of freespace (whitespace issue i think), so I plan to remove it whilst leaving PF2 & PF3 intact, then i need to re-replicate to an newly created PF1 so i'm back
to having all 3 servers replicating the public folder DB
I plan to point everyone to PF2 as they are currently split between PF1 & PF2 along with the DBs.
Can someone guide me through the process, I've looked at Removing public folders but nothing gives me a good guide in my scenario ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Based on my understanding, you want to remove PF1, however you didn't want to interrupt the clients from accessing public folders, so you would like these users to access PF2. If I misunderstood your concern, please let me know.
Before you delete PF1, please specify PF2 for mailbox databases on the Mailbox server where this PF1 reside. After you recreate a new PF and configure Public Folder Replication, you can specify this new PF for mailbox databases to get it back when all data
    have been replicated.
Here is an article about how to change the default Public Folder Database for a Mailbox Database for your reference.

  • Public folder -creation

    Dear all
I have created on user ID through SU01. then i have logged easy DMS at that time system asked me "do you want to create private folder " i said yes and private folder is created
Question: How to create public folder in easy DMS?

    hi,
You can create new folders and documents in one of the following ways:
Create folders and/or documents in Microsoft Windows Explorer
In the context menu with Create Folder and Create Document
In the toolbar with  (New Document) and  (New Folder)
In a workstation application such as Microsoft Word You create a new file and save it to a private or public folder in SAP Easy Document Management with Save As. The file is saved in the selected folder as a new document, or as an existing or new original application file for an existing document.
When you create the document or folder, the system requests document data such as a description and a document type. You can add a link to a local file. When you confirm the entries, the system copies the file to the selected folder and automatically checks it in to the central storage area.
Note:To be able to do this you have to implement the Z_EASYDMS_GETDOCTYPES function module.
When creating new documents or folders, you can define default document data. To be able to do this you have to
           implement the Z_EASYDMS_GETDOCDEFAULTS function module.

  • Replication of Public Folder data from Exchange Sp1 to Exchange SP2

I have one Exch 2010 SP1 server and I am migrating to another Exch 2010 SP2 server.  I am looking to migrate the old public folder data to a newer public folder database on the SP2 server.  I have gone into Public Folder Management and added the
new server as a replication partner in properties of the folder, under "Replicate content to these public folder databases".  After doing this, I don't see any replication occurring from the 2 servers.  I turned on diagnostic logging on
both and I don't see any errors being created, just seem like nothing is happening.
What should I look for to troubleshoot this further?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi JoeyC,
From your description, I would like to clarify the following things for troubleshooting:
    1. Make sure that Mail flow is working between two servers.
    2. Please refer to the following article to confirm that the configuration is right.

  • How to migrate public folders from legacy (exchange 2003 ) to exchange 2010

How to migrate public folders from legacy (exchange 2003 ) to exchange 2010 . Please suggest ?
    Aditya Mediratta

    Hi Aditya,
    please find the answer in
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/agobbi/archive/2010/08/04/how-to-move-public-folder-from-exchange-2003-to-exchagne-2010.aspx
Please ensure you have a working mailflow from Exchange 2003 to 2010, vice versa, before you begin.
Basically it's the same procedure as adding some PF Database in E2K3; just
run .\AddReplicaToPFRecursive.ps1 -server "Exchange 2010 Server" -TopPublicFolder "\" -ServerToAdd "Exchange 2010 Server"
Wait until some initial data started to replicate; after that run
    Update-PublicFolderHierarchy -Server "Exchange 2010 Server"
After replication has finished you can do a
.\MoveAllReplicas.ps1 -Server "Exchange 2003 Server" -NewServer "Exchange 2010 Server"
Please let me know if it worked.
    Kind regards,
    Martin

  • Public folder replication 2003 2010 not starting

I have ran powershell scripts on exchange 2010 to add replicas recursively (a week ago) I then ran moveallreplicas scipt.
I have checked on 2010 and there are no pf replicas or folders
I checked 2003 and re-added the 2003 server as a replica server and ran pfdavadmin and verified the replication tab and files were all correct.
I then ran exfolders on the 2010 server but that shows no data under replicas or replication or file nothing at all.
I checked the queues on exchange 2003 to make sure the data was not getting backed up but the queues are empty.
Can someone tell me what troubleshooting technique to try next?
***Don't forget to mark helpful or answer***

    Hi,
Please make sure you connect to a public folder server in Public Folder Management Console.
And please make sure you have a public folder database in Exchange 2010 and make sure you see the public folder hierarchy. Without hierarchy, the MoveAllReplicas.ps1 script won't do anything because there are no folders in the hierarchy to modify.
You can use the Get-PublicFolder -Server <NewServerName> cmdlet to check result.
Here is a blog about public folder migration to Exchange 2010 which may help you for your reference.

  • Public Folder Hierarchy From 2003 - LDAP Provider Error

I am in the process of moving the public folders.  Currently all data from within the folders has been migrated over and the old servers have been removed from replication.  My next step is to move the Hierarchy, when I drag the folder from the
2003 Administrative group to the 2010 Administrative group I receive the following:
    Exchange System Manager
The server is unwilling to process the request.
    Facility: LDAP Provider
    ID no: 80072035
    Exchange System Manager
    OK
I have gone through the permissions for the ADSI objects and folders.  According to them the user that is performing the action has the rights to do so.

    Hi,
In order to troubleshoot the issue more efficiently, I need to clarify some information.
    1. Could you expand the public folder hierarchy in Exchange 2003?
    2. Is there any error messages in the application log?
    3. Could you please run EXBPA to check the health of the Exchange 2003? What's the result?

  • How to regain access to public folder items

    Hi All,
We have a few public folder items (mainly calendars) for which i (the admin) have no(or limited) access to.
In outlook 2010 if i go to the properties of the public calendar i can only see an entry for Administrators for which has the access of only "Author"
If i log into the exchange server powerscript shell and try and run
    Get-PublicFolderClientPermission -Identity \"<Item name>"
    I get the following error:
No existing 'PublicFolderEntry' matches the following Identity: '\<Item name>'. Make sure that you specif
ied the correct 'PublicFolderEntry' Identity and that you have the necessary permissions to view 'PublicFolderEntry'.
        + CategoryInfo          : NotSpecified: (0:Int32) [Get-PublicFolderClientPermission], MapiObjectNotFoundException
        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : C8510C4,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.MapiTasks.GetPublicFolderClientPermission
These are items have had existed in exchange since before it started and from Exchange 2003 to now Exchange 2010.
Is there a way i can force the Administrator to have Owner rights on these items again?
    Thanks

Ok... for all those other unfortunate souls out there who have no answer... here's the deal... The "Failed to Modify MAPI.NET Table" error is due to a problem with your DACL (permissions) table on the public folder(s). But, Exchange 2010 doesn't provide
any utilities to correct this! exFolders replaces most PVDavAdmin functions but is does not have the "Fix DACL" option built in.
After all my research and troubleshooting I discovered that the DACL issue was because I had entered explict permissions for the built-in Administrators group. This was resulting in the following error in event viewer: "The mailbox '' contains a folder <NAME
OF MY PUBLIC FOLDER> with a security descriptor that violates the canonical format."
Since I could not remove the existing public folders OR modify their permissions, but could still read their content, I copied all the content over to my mailbox. I then wanted to start completely fresh and created a new public folder store following the
    below steps:
    1. Dismount public folder database
    2. Move public folder database file and log (as a backup, not going to reuse it though)
    3. Mount public folder database (creates a new blank public folder database)
*** NOTE: I could have probably just continued with the new blank public folder database, but I wanted to clear out all the old stuff and be sure it was all new and clean. So I continued through the following steps.
    4. Delete public folder database
    5. Delete database file and log files
    6. Opened ADSIEdit and deleted the existing "Folder Hierarchies" object from this location: Configuration\Services\Microsoft Exchange\<organization name>\Administrative groups
*** NOTE: The next two steps are optional, as Exchange will do them for you when you create a new public folder database. BUT, exchange does NOT correctly assign the msExchPublicFolderTreeContainer class to the Folder Hierarchies object! It just makes it a
container. So I opted to manually create it to force it to use the right class
    7. Recreated the "Folder Hierarchies" object in the same location (class is msExchPublicFolderTreeContainer)
    8. Create "Public Folders" object under "Folder Hierarchies" (class is msExchPFTree and attribute msExchPFTreeType MUST be set to 1)
    9. Went back to EMC, Organization Configuration, Mailbox, Database Management, and right clicked to create a new public folder database.
    10. Restart Information Store Service
Once I had done all that I opened up outlook and created a new public folder. I then highlighted all the items in my mailbox that I had copied out of the original folder and copied them into this new public folder. As long as I do not add public folder permissions
for the built-in Administrators group, then I am able to manage public folder permissions without any errors. I haven't tested to see if the same error occurs for other built-in security groups.
