How I download a Tv series from DVD to itunes?
How I download a Tv series from DVD to itunes?
Handbrake see http://handbrake.fr/ can convert such files to iTunes compatible format. However Handbrake by itself does not copy from protected commercial DVDs as doing so is illegal in many (but not all) countries.
For dealing with DVD protection you are on your own as it is not allowed to be discussed here.

How to download pictures and music from Ipad (no Itunes)?
Hi.. a week ago someone broke into my home and they stoled stuff (inlcuding my macbook). The only photos I still have are in my Ipad.
How can I download these photos to another mac (not the ones taken with the camera, but the ones synced with my stolen macbook)?
Unfortunately, the available mac that my mom lended to me is from 2007 and the OS is less than 10.5, which is requirement for the latest Itunes (needed for my Ipad2).
So as you can see I am in trouble. Is there a way to download the pictures (and/or music) without using Itunes?
please Help.!Backup, backup...
Some of the information below has subsequently appeared in a document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):
- Expod (free) - http://www.headlightsoft.com/expod/ - Mac, universal for 104.+ (newer machines try de-Tune)
- deTune (free) - http://www.headlightsoft.com/detune/ - Mac, 10.5+

Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141 - dates from 2008 and some outdated information now.
Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide - http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/copying-music-from-ipod-to-co mputer/ - Information about use in disk mode pertains only to older model iPods.
Get Your Music Off of Your iPod - http://howto.wired.com/wiki/Get_Your_Music_Off_of_Your_iPod - I am not sure but this may only work with some models and not newer Touch, iPhone, or iPad.

How I download a MP4 series of videolectures (that the seller has stored in Amazon S3 and has sent to my iPad email address--which is different from the one I use from the MacBookPro) from my iPad to my MacBookPro (so that I can the save them in iTunes and then synchronize some of the videolectures to the iPad?)
To set it up as POP you need to delete the account, reboot the phone by holding the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds), then add it back following these instructions: Forcing creation of a POP or IMAP email account
I understand that you have used the same account for many years, but the technology is also changing constantly. Years ago the standard was POP (Post Office Protocol), which was designed at a time when it was inconceivable that anyone would access their email from more than one device. When people started using multiple devices, for the most part they wanted to see changes on one device mirrored on another. A new standard, IMAP (Internet Mail Access Protocol) was developed. With iMAP the master copy of all messages resides on a server, and multiple devices are kept in sync with the server. So if you delete a message from one device it is removed from the server, and then removed from all other devices when they next sync. This is the same way Microsoft Exchange works. Other benefits of IMAP include the ability to have multiple mail folders that are kept in sync across devices. In your case you could use this to create a separate folder for each family member, so they could move messages to their own folder and not clutter up the shared Inbox. Most computer mail readers can even automatically sort incoming mail into folders based on the contents of the message.
IMAP is considered a "higher level" standard than POP. When you create a mail account iOS devices query the server and ask what it supports; if it says it supports IMAP then the account is automatically configured for IMAP. So if you really want POP you must fool it, as described in the link above. In my experience Android devices default to the highest level protocol also, and I suspect newer Blackberries do (although it has been 15 years since I used a BB). -
Problems downloading a television series from iTunes
I have had problems downloading a tv series from iTunes. I have been looking everywhere for info on how to retrieve non-corrupted versions of two of the episodes... no joy!
I have the most up to date version of iTunes. I have clicked on the 'Check for available downloads in the Store menu' and it just tells me that the two episodes can't be downloaded as they are corrupted.
Can someone please help me???!!!Hi Brenden,
Thanks so much for taking the time to help. I've gone through the details as suggested on the articles you've sent links to. Strangely, even though both episodes appear in my iTunes Library as unusable files, neither are listed under iTunes on my hard drive. In other words, nothing to delete.
I will keep hold of the links you've sent in case I have similar problems in future.
I have sent screen grabs, etc to Apple Support further to finding out how to report a problem and it looks like they're investigating. Its frustrating though.
Thanks again for trying.
Best wishes,

How to download a file version from office 365 using csom
I need to download an older file version from office 365 and get the data into a byte array. I have no trouble downloading the latest version with File.OpenBinaryStream() and I have no trouble loading the previous file versions with File.Versions. But now
I need to actually download an older version of the file and it seems the only way is to use File.OpenBinaryDirect. So I am creating a client context using my oAuth access token and providing the correct path, but I am getting a (401) Unauthorized
error. Looking with Fiddler I can see that the call to OpenBinaryDirect is somehow trying to post to my file URL and the server is responding with 401.
context = TokenHelper.GetClientContextWithAccessToken(SPHostUrl, AccessToken);
FileInformation info = File.OpenBinaryDirect(context, "/" + _fileVersion.Url); //throws 401
//leading slash required otherwise ArgumentOutOfRangeException
I have to be able to access the older file versions with my c# code -- I don't have a viable app without that ability -- any help urgently needed and greatly appreciated!Thank you SO much (Can't wait for the next release)!
For anyone else who lands here, here's the code I ended up using:
// VersionAccessUser and VersionAccessPassword are stored in web.config
// web.Url is loaded via the clientContext
// myVersion is the FileVersion I got from the file's Versions.GetById() method
// probably a lot of ways to get hostUrl, it just needs to be https://yourdomain.sharepoint.com/
// - I'm running my app from a subweb
// I had trouble following the links to get the full MsOnlineClaimsHelper code
// (the one on msdn.com was missing RequestBodyWriter, WSTrustFeb2005ContractClient,
// and IWSTrustFeb2005Contract
// so I've included the code I used here.
string myVersionFullUrl = string.Format("{0}/{1}", web.Url, myVersion.Url);
string userName = WebConfigurationManager.AppSettings.Get("VersionAccessUser");
string strPassword = WebConfigurationManager.AppSettings.Get("VersionAccessPassword");
string hostUrl = Regex.Replace(web.Url, "([^/]+//[^/]+/).*", "$1");
MsOnlineClaimsHelper claimsHelper = new MsOnlineClaimsHelper(hostUrl, userName, strPassword);
var client = new WebClient();
client.Headers["Accept"] = "/";
client.Headers.Add(HttpRequestHeader.UserAgent, "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.2; .NET CLR 1.0.3705;)");
client.Headers.Add(HttpRequestHeader.Cookie, claimsHelper.CookieContainer.GetCookieHeader(new Uri(hostUrl)));
var document = client.DownloadString(myVersionFullUrl);

I am downloading a tv series from iTunes. It is taking a long time. Can I otherwise use my Mac or will it mess up my download? don't want to lose my money!
Yes, I mean that, and no emailing or chatting or other network related activity. Unless of course you have a super-fast internet connection, and the slow download is 'cos the server sending it is very slow.
-
so I've downloaded a tv series from iTunes onto my macbook pro, for some reason the episodes on my iTunes won't play at all. no sound and no images. any suggestions and help?
Hi,
As you have match, I suggest that you create a new library by holding ctrl whist launching iTunes. Select create new library. Sign into iTunes Store and activate match. You will now have access to your music and will be able to stream your music.
Options : get a new external drive formatted for mac and either download music from match or copy music from old drive to new one. Alternatively you could reformat old drive and download music from match - I would not be comfortable using this option as it means erasing drive before being able to use with mac.

How to download songs and movies from iTunes? e top bar...
How to download songs and movies from iTunes? The music and movie tab is not on the top bar at the iTunes store...
To use the iTunes Store in a country you need a credit card issued in that country, billed to an address in that country, and also be physically present in that country when using the store. Basically all you have access to would be anything offered in South Africa unless you move to a different country.
It's the media owners who get to tell Apple where and where they cannot sell their media. I'm sure Apple would be happy to take your money but if the media companies are not happy then they can say no to sales in SA.
Even if there were a way to bypass this we certainly couldn't tell you on this forum because it would violate the Terms of use of this web site and get the whole topic removed.
