How I get iLife for free on my ipad mini 1

I don't buy my iPad on September 1 I want these apps but I don't no how I get it help me please

You can purchase the apps.  They would not be free.
There is no app called "iLife".  There are apps available for you to purchase such as iPhoto, GarageBand.  These are parts of what you refer to as "iLife".

My mac OS X did not come with GarageBand, how do get it for free?
I don't want to pay for garageband because it should have come with my laptop but it didn't. I got it used so that might be the problem. Also I installed leopard on it. I'm not sure if that would affect it at all. Please help. Thanks.

Okay, so you bought the machines used?
What OS version was on it when you bought it?
You bought Snow Leopard (10.6.x) and installed it?
The original version is important because there were some OS versions that did not include iLife (incl. Garageband) - you had to get it separately. And, the retail Snow Leopard disk does not include it.
So, if that is correct, then it doesn't have to have it installed. In any case, you can still buy a retail version of iLife with the full suite of apps from online retailers; either version 09 or 11 will work with your OS. Or you can just buy Garageband at the app store.

  • Can you get iLife for free on a used mac?

I just bought a used macbook pro yesterday and i was dissappointed to see that it didn't have iLife on it. Doesn't Apple claim that all new macbooks come with iLife? The macbook pro i have is a recent model, the macbook pro is from 2011. I thought iLife should have been on it. i'm very dissapointed because im into songwriting and I wanted to use garageband. My laptop came installed with OS X 10.8.3 so i think it should've had ilife with it. is there a way i could get ilife for free?

    1. This applies to new computers. The previous owner of an used one may have deleted it.
    2. If it originally shipped with Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier, install it from the computer's original disks, or if desired, erase the drive and install a new OS. If it shipped with Mac OS X 10.7 or newer, open the Mac App Store, sign in, and click on the Purchases tab; if you aren't given the option to accept it, contact Apple.

  • How can I get imovie for free on my iPad?

So at my school everybody can be able to get imovie for free but for me it doesn't. It keeps popping up to have to buy it and I was wondering how I can get it for free?

The iWork apps for a Mac and for iOS devices are different, they are different operating systems.
If your iPad was activated after 1st September 2013 (and you are using the same account that was used to activate the iPad) then you should be able to download the apps for free in its App Store app. If it was activate before that date (or you are not using the same account) then you will need to pay to download the apps.

  • Just upgraded to Maverick...how to get iLife 11 free upgrade?

Hello! I purchased my MacBook Pro in 2010...I think it came with Leopard O.S. Later I upgraded to Snow Leopard. Then I purchased Lion O.S.
Now I got the free upgrade to Marverick O.S.X 10.9.2. I was told by an Apple Genius that I could now get a free upgrade to the iLife 11' Suite.
My question is: how to I do that? I tried several times but can't seem to get it.

iWork and iLife for Mac come free with every new Mac purchase. Existing users running Mavericks can update their apps for free from the Mac App Store℠. iWork and iLife for iOS are available for free from the App Store℠ for any new device running iOS 7, and are also available as free updates for existing users. GarageBand for Mac and iOS are free for all OS X Mavericks and iOS 7 users. Additional GarageBand instruments and sounds are available for a one-time in-app purchase of $4.99 for each platform.

  • If I buy a new iPhone 5s, will I get iWork for free on my iPad and MacBook?

Or is it only on my iPhone 5S

To get the versions for your Mac, free, you need to purchase a new Mac. So, no.

  • I got my MBP on june 16 so how can i get lion for free?

i got my macbook pro for birthday and i read that if you purchased it after june 6th you can get lion for free but how do i do that?

The wording on this page seems convoluted to me:
"Users must request their Up-to-Date upgrade within 30 days of purchase of their Mac computer. Customers who purchase a qualifying Mac between June 6, 2011 and the date when Lion is available in the Mac App Store will have 30 days from Lion’s official release date to make a request."
If I purchased my shiny new Macbook Pro on June 11, according to the first part of the statement, I must request my Up-to-Date upgrade by July 11, yet the second part of the statement states I will have 30 days from Lion's official release date to make my request.
I am hoping the second statement is the correct one. It would be helpful if Apple fixed this inconsistency...

  • I just bought a used MacBook Pro 13inch retina late 2013, which was originally bought in December, but for some reason neither the iWork or iLife suit seem to be free as advertised by Apple. Can I still get them for free?

As the title says, I thought that both suites are supposed to be free. Am I wrong or is there some way to still get them for free?
    Many thanks for answers!

If the computer is registered with Apple as new from December 2013, then if you search for the apps to "buy" (Pages, Keynote, Numbers, iMovie, iPhoto, Garageband) in the App store, it SHOULD give you the price as FREE.  If it does not, I suggest you contact Apple and ask their advice.
This is what Apple say about eligibility for iWork and iLife for free:
    http://www.apple.com/creativity-apps/mac/up-to-date/
The only possible "glitch" in this is that you were not the original purchaser.  Speak to Apple and see what they say - they may be willing to facilitate the download for you.

  • Didn't Apple say that those who bought a new iDevice after October 1, 2013 could also get iWork and iLife for free on Mac?

I thought I read that anyone who bought a new iDevice on or after Oct. 1, 2014 could get the iLife and iWork apps for free on their iDevice and the same Mac applications would be free for any Mac with the same iCloud account.  I purchased an iPad Air in January and got those apps for free on it, but when I bought a used Mac locally I can't get any of those apps for free?  If it is possible to get those iLife and iWork apps on my Mac that way please tell me.

Didn't Apple say that those who bought a new iDevice after October 1, 2013 could also get iWork and iLife for free on Mac?
No, they said if you bought a new iOS device on or after September 1, 2013, the iOS versions would be free. And if you purchased a new Mac on or after October 1, 2013, the Mac OS versions would be free. The Mac & iOS iWork & iLife apps are separate applications for two different operating systems. Unless you purchased a new Mac after October 1, 2013, you will have to purchase them for your used Mac.

  • How do I get iMovie for free?

I have a 2013 MacBook Air that does not have iMovie. I bought the laptop off of Craigslist and it works fine, but I just don't have iMovie. iMovie is under free apps, but it costs $15 (which makes no sense to me). Is there any chance I can get it for free?

I searched it on this website and it leads me to the app store and it still asks for $15
I also have a iphone 5 and ipad 4, but still cannot get iMovie for free. Any other suggestions?

  • Bought Lion when I was supposed to get it for free..

I bought my MacBook Pro after June 6 and was supposed to get Lion for free. When Lion came out, I didn't know how to go about that, so I got it from the App Store thinking there would be something I had to enter from my receipt and that's how I'd get it for free. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, so my account was docked $30. As I was waiting for it to download, I found how I was supposed to redeem my free upgrade, and cancelled the upgrade. Now, I don't have Lion, and I'm out $30. Does anyone know how I can get the money back? Thanks!

Use the email form here  >  Apple - Support - Mac App Store - Contact Support
Probably be at least 3 business days before you receive a response.
Explain exactly what happened like you did in your post here and hopefully they'll get it straightened out for you so you can install Lion and receive a refund.

  • Where can I get iMovie for free for my Mac?

I had a problem using iMovie and the only way to solve it was to delete the program. Now when I try to reinstall iMovie it cost me €13.99 in the App Store. Can I get it for free anywhere else ?

    How did you get iMovie?
Redownload it from the Purchases pane in the MAS.

  • IWork & iLife for free

I got a new MACBOOK Air today and downloaded the iWork and iLife Apps for free, does that mean I will get them for free on my iPhone that I got in January 2013.?

Yes, even if you sign in with the same Apple ID. Again, we're talking about two completely operating systems here and the version for iPhone (iOS) is not available to you for free.
You can sign in with your Apple ID on any Mac (OS X) and download them for free, just NOT the iOS version for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

  • I cannot download iWork/iLife for free

I purchased iphone 5c in Dec 2013.  Used a brand new apple ID--never have used the apple id on any other devices.  I have registered the product.  I did a hard reset.  I have cleared out the cache.  I have signed in and out of the app store.  iWork and iLife are still showing a purchase price.  Why can't I get them for free.  I tried all the tips I could find on the community board.  anybody else have a better idea
    thanks in advance

I recently encountered this when I purchased a new iPad Mini with Retina.
Using your iPhone, open the App Store and navigate to the "Productivity" category. Under "Collections" you will find a graphic for "Pages, Numbers, Keynote." If you click that, you should be able to get them free.
    Hope this helps.
