How i got my battery to charge full

I was finally to get my battery to finaly get a full charge by that i mean there is no more siler at the end of the battery it still does not glow the way the photo show but it does reset the usage. Here is what i have to do. I put it on the wall charger untill the plug icon charger shows i do this over night. By either turning it or putting it to sleep either way works i get the plug icon but i still have a piece of silver but usage does not reset. Than i have to restart my windows pc i don't know why ( have to every time or it doesn't reset my usage most have to do with the driver for the iphone ) i do this with the iphone not pluged in. than after it is all restarted i plug the iphone in the pc usb in it's dock than open itunes wait a few secounds and don't senc i just look at my setting why waiting for the rest of the battery to fill than while still dock i hit sleep and most times the battery no longer has the silver and if i go into usage it is reset to 0 than i use the discont in itunes than undock the iphone and im good to go. If i don't do it this way sometimes i will get a usuage like this -'- I don't know why. It seems though that i do have to restart the pc everytime though can't figure that one out though only one time i didn't have to. I haven't tried not restarting the pc since the last update of itunes i will have to maybe they have fixed something with the driver that is my next step. I hope this helps someone get a full charge and get their usage to reset.

Then, off to Apple you go....  There are no software tricks if you can't get the phone to respond at all to pressing both buttons - no way to force recovery or DFU mode.

  • Battery not charging full

I notice that my battery doesnt show full after charge as when it stays on the charger. At the beginning it shows 100% but next day it shows 98% even on the charger also the fan has a noise that stays on almost 100% of the time. I have Applecare but don't know how long it takes to check out at Apple Store. Thanks for any suggestion.

The battery fully charges, then stops when full and bleeds a little. When it drops a little more the charger will kick back in. This is normal.
You can reset the fans if you are concered with a SMC reset: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
But you have Applecare (wise choice) and if you feel uncomfortable, definatley bring it in, get your moneys worth.
Make an appointment first, as they are usually busy, and you don't want to hang around for who knows how long.

  • I Want to buy a new phone but verizon wants to charge full price on a new phone

People listen this is the most ridiculous attitude that the verizon customer service came up with. They are Just out to steal money from every customer
If you buy their phone stand to reason that your are going to buy their service. I am Just dumb founded! How can they do that? Charge full price of a plain phone
when they have the price posted example seventy nine dollars  and they want to charge 299 dollars for their own phone. I am frustrated. I need a phone. I think when this is over I will be going to the competition. All I want is for verizon to know is I am buying their service and I need a phone the price they have posted
    on their phones.

    HAHAHH
    that is funny OP
    A service provider... selling service..roflllllllllllllllllll

  • HT4623 Hi!My iPAD lost its charge fast !!I've got an iPAD capacity 57,1GB and it has available 55,1GB ,version 7.0.4 .I'd like to know how long does the battery last when it is 100 % charged.

Hi!I've just installed the iOS 7.0.4 operating system and the battery lost its charge at an incredibly speed.I'd like to know how long does the battery last if everything is right when it has 100% charge. Thanks!

I`m `propping` up this thread to to the top of the forums again as it`s been three months and not a single community member or Apple support personnel have replied, which I find discouraging.
I`ve tried everything - both the iOS device(s) and Apple TV have been upgraded (albeit reluctantly) to the latest versions, since iOS 7 looks like crap compared to iOS 6. Both use the same WiFi network. Bluetooth is set to `off`, as per the online tutorials on the Apple Support page.
I also tried shutting all of them down, including the router, waiting 30 seconds and turning the router, then the Apple TV then the iOS device on sequentially with 30 seconds in between each, again as per this discussion forum, and still nothing.
Why can Apple not make a technology, such as AirPlay, work with greater than 10%?
    Any other ideas?
    Come on, people.
    Thanks,
    Doug

  • Samsung Droid Charge: how many got NEW and how many got REFURBISHED?

Question for folks who ordered the Samsung Droid Charge as replacement....
How many got NEW and how many got REFURBISHED phones?
There are some members on this forum who reported getting refurbished
units, sometimes even without batteries and battery doors.
The VZW corporate store that I went to told me that their customers all got
new-in-the-box units within 2 to 3 days after visiting the store.
The store manager assured me the same thing.... but I couldn't decide if I really
wanted a Samsung Droid Charge or the dual-core processor HTC Incredible 2....
so I'm gonna sleep on it for a couple of days.   (the HTC can be ordered over
the phone, without requiring a store visit, according to the manager)

Thanks!   I made a mistake... it was the Motorola X2 that has the dual-core processor.
Am I being silly here? Will a Motorola X2 with dual-core process be that much faster
than the Samsung Droid Charge with single-core processor?
Not that much faster, and could even be somewhat slower depending on settngs

I have an iphone that has stopped charging. I have purchased a new battery and charger for it but it is still not charging. Does anyone know how i can fix this?

That pretty much eliminates all the user-serviceable parts the phone has.
When you say you purchased a new battery, I'll assume that it included the installation and you did not go fiddling with the nanoscrews and such. So it's got to have some sort of warranty that the part is good and it is time to take it back for service.

The firmware update corrects an error that may occur, however the techs would have checked the condition of the battery prior to installing a new one.  If the battery was questionable, the firmware update was really not too important.
You can check the battery condition by going to the apple, left side of the menu bar, About This Mac, More Info, System Report, Hardware, Power and see what it says about Cycle Count, Condition, Capacity: Condition anything but Normal needs to be checked and may need to be replaced.
The cycle count of 1,000 charge cycles is the typical life of a Lithium-Ion battery, the point at which the capacity drops to 80% of the as built capacity.

  • Got charged full retail for a new phone instead of Edge Up, wiped out bank account, had to refuse shipment, no compensation for the time spent talking to 14  representatives over the phone in the last week, and still no refund??

On 9/29 I ordered an iPhone 6 Plus 128GB as an edge up from my 5S, swiped my card at the store to pay the Edge Up fee, and was told 10/31 was the expected ship date.
Didn't see the order on my My Verizon account, spoke with 3 representatives on the phone to actually get the order number so I could track it.
On 10/24 the ship date disappeared and I called to find out there was an issue with the payment. I gave them my debit card number over the phone for the Edge Up amount, and they charged me full retail -- OVER $1,000.
They promised it wouldn't post to my account and it wouldn't ship after cancelling the order. Next day it shipped. I called FedEx and refused the package over the phone.
I called when the payment posted the next day, totally wiping out my bank account and charging me overdraft fees.
They said they'd push for a refund immediately -- on Sunday, 10/24. It's now 10/30, I see no refund, I have no phone, and I have over $100 in bank fees from their mistake.
I spoke with a supervisor on the phone and they said they could refund the bank fees, but would do nothing for the fact that they screwed up my order, and told me it would be another 2-3 weeks before they actually ship a phone to me if I ordered today.
Sorry, but that's NOT good customer service. I can buy out my Edge agreement, sell the phone on eBay, and go to another carrier pretty easily. I don't want to leave Verizon's service, but I don't really see how they value me as a customer?
Does anyone else have some idea of what I could do about this whole thing??
TL;DR -- Verizon charged full retail for a phone instead of Edge Up fee, still no refund, no compensation for the inconvenience and stress they caused, and another 2-3 week wait on a phone I ordered a month ago.

That situation went from inconvenient to complicated quickly.  Wait for any pending orders to drop off, wait for things to clear up, wait till your upgrade comes up and then upgrade when your contract is fulfilled.  I would have suggested a replacement phone, I know, with only a month left why couldn't you just upgrade early, but these situations where people try to upgrade early always end horribly and once a phone order starts, it almost cannot finish until something winds up shipped received and returned.  Sorry this happened the way it did.  Definitely not efficient.

My laptop got wet - battery icon now has a X inside and it is not holding any charge at all, anyone else dealt with this scenario?

The battery is not detected, so it means that the battery or the battery connector are not working, which is a serious problem.
Turn off your MacBook and take it to an Apple Store or reseller. It will be an expensive repair if your logic board has to be replaced. Read > https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-5511

  • How long does your battery take to charge?

this is only my second laptop and the battery on my first one went pretty quickly, so i dont really know long its supposed to take to charge
so... how long does it take, and how long does it take for the battery to drain

Im not sure how long exactly it takes to charge it. I would say about 2 hours maybe 3 at the most. I use mine plugged in ost of the time, so its not unplugged much. I get great battery life out of mine. I had it off AC for about 3 hours the other night and still had 40 mins left according to the battery monitor. This is with the brightness all the way up.

Do you not understand English? The "idea" we have given you is TO TAKE THE PHONE TO AN APPLE STORE OR AUTHORIZED SERVICE PROVIDER!!!
If you want to follow the advice is up to you. No one here really cares what you do in the end.

You can leave the charger plugged in, as you cannot overcharge...charging automatically stops when your battery is full. Once every 2 ~ 3 months, its a good idea to drain the battery to about ~ 40%, then recharge to full. Otherwise, you can charge whenever you like & leave connected whenever you like.
Try to avoid full battery discharges, Lithium batteries don't like that & frequent full discharge/recharge cycles will eventually kill your battery.
