How I got my Motorola v3 to sync with BT

Shocked and surprised I am!!! Here is what worked for me:
1. Delete isync, ical and addressbook plist files from the preferences folder.
2. Delete the pairing in BT.
3. Remove the battery from the v3 (leave out for 5 seconds and reinstall).
4. Turn on BT on the v3.
5. Use BT setup assistant to pair the v3.
6. Go to connection/BT/setup/find me on the v3. Select find me.
7. When prompted in BT setup assistant to enter the passkey on the phone, do that.
8. The v3 was recognized and paired by BT setup assistant.
9. I then started isync and believe it or not it connected and did a successful sync.
10. I have done it 10 times each time was successful.
I will say though that it took 70-90 seconds for isync to find the v3 and start the sync, so be patient.
Good luck.
Bob
ps. Not sure if it was only the deleting of the plist files, or deleting the pairing along with deleting the plist files or if it was actually removing the battery on the v3 along with deleting the plist files and deleting the pairing, but it has worked flawlessly. Hope it continues.

Looks like you may not need to do all the steps suggested.
I just deleted my phone from the bluetooth section of System Preferences. Then made my phone discoverable and added a bluetooth device, which brought up the bluetooth setup assistant and paired with my phone (had to enter the passkey given by the setup assistant).
Then I went to iSync and deleted my phone from iSync (I'd already set it up for USB earlier) and then added a device and had iSync scan for my bluetooth phone (had to make my phone 'discoverable' again) and it worked fine. Didn't have to take out any batteries or trash and preferences.
I'm actually not sure if I even had to delete my phone from the bluetooth section of system preferences - maybe just deleting the USB version of my phone in iSync would have done the job - not sure.
Anyway, thanks to all for the info...
