    Hi there,
I would recommend taking a look at the information found in the articles below. The first two articles have the same content, but are geared towards either OS X or Windows.

  • How do I stop purchased songs on my Mac from automatically downloading to my other devices?

I don't like to have a lot of music on my iPhone, but when I purchase songs on my Mac, they automatically download to my iPhone. How can I stop this from happening so I can manually manage my music?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Automatic Downloads are enabled. To disable it, open Settings > iTunes and App Stores > Automatic Downloads, and turn off the music option on the iPhone, so your music will not be downloaded automatically

  • I am on Icloud with 2 computers cell phone and my ipod..... My question is how do I get purchased songs on my ipod from the different computers.

I am on icloud with2 computers , Ipod and iphone   I want the purchased songs on each computer to download to my ipod. I thought all three devices were able to communicate from the icloud.  How do I do this.....

    Hello billy-the-kid,
This can be done by verifying that each device and computer is signed into the same iTunes Store account, and enabling Automatic Downloads on all of them.

Yes, I got that. My question was "are you using the same iTunes account to access music purchased from the Store?" I think your answer is "yes".

But they are all on my ipod - can i not sync back to itunes?
iTunes is not designed to do that. However, this user tip from tt2 may help you recover your music from your iPod, although it's not a simple process: Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device
Ignore any references in the tip to iOS devices, the Classic does not use iOS. The tip has a list of software, including the TouchCopy referred to by tbirdvet that may assist you in recovering your music.

  • How can I put purchased songs from my iPad to my daughters iPod?

How can I load purchased songs from my iPad to my daughters iPod?

You can either sync them to her iPod using iTunes, or sign into your Apple ID in Settings>iTunes & App Store on her iPod and download them as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.  If she is already signed into a different ID, tap it, sign out, then sign into your ID.  (Note: If she has already enabled automatic downloads or downloaded previous purchases on her iPod using a different ID, she will have to wait 90 days before she can switch IDs to yours.)

  • I updated my iPod and it erased everything i had on it.  How do i retrieve the songs that i bought from the iTunes store?  when i try to download/buy them again they tell me i have already purchased them do i want to buy them again?

I updated my iPod and it erased everything i had on it.  How do i retrieve the songs that i bought from the iTunes store?  when i try to download/buy them again they tell me i have already purchased them do i want to buy them again?  I have authorized my computer but none of them are in my music now.

You buy one and only one download.
It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music.
Certainly you did not update your ipod without making sure that you had transferred anything purchased on the ipod to your computer and included it in your regular backup copy of your computer.

  • I am facing issues with my music on my iOS device. I have five devices connected to my apple id. And out of which a Windows Machine and iPhone is not able to sync the purchased songs on the the Windows machine and the iPhone.

I am facing issues with my music on my iOS device. I have five devices connected to my apple id. And out of which a Windows Machine and iPhone is not able to sync the purchased songs on the the Windows machine and the iPhone. The iPhone4 shows the songs are not supported and on the Windows Machine the songs do not play completely. Can anyone advice what could have gone wrong ? Because rest of the devices are synced to MacBook and they are able to sync the content normally.  I have even subscribed to iTunes Match but the problem is still not fixed.

    Firstly...  a little Clarity...
Devices refer to iDevices... iPod... iPhone... iPad. ..   Not Computers.
Authoriation applies ONLY to Computers... of which there is a Limit of 5 per Apple ID.
If the issue is with iTunes on your Windows Computer... Perhaps you need to Re-install iTunes...
See Here... to Uninstall and Re-Install iTunes...

  • My ipod is not syncing new purchased songs in i tunes???

i cannot sync newly purchased songs into my ipad nano 4th generation from the itunes store???

I suspect that now the iPod sees the computer/iTunes library as a new computer/library. Follow these instructions

  • Unable to sync newly purchased songs to my ipod nano

I have a new computer running Windows7 with Itunes and am unable to sync newly purchased songs to my shuffle device. I can, however, sync purchased songs from my Ipod shuffle to my computer.

In iTunes 11 use the View menu to show the Sidebar or left column. Select your phone there. Then the familiar row of tabs will appear to the right. Select Music, scroll down to add what you want then scroll to the bottom to find Apply or Sync.

  • If you download past purchased songs one by one from an album will you be charged again. Also will you be charged again if while doing this you download the whole album as one?

If you download past purchased songs one by one from an album will you be charged. Also will you be charged again if you download the the whole same album whilst downloading the songs. This is on Iphone.

It depends on how you originally purchased them.
If you purchased them as an album you cannot download them for free individually because the details of the original purchase would show that an album was purchased. And this is true vice versa too, even if you have purchased all the songs from one album individually.
You need to download the album/songs the same way you originally purchased them
