How i unlock a backup encryption if i forget my password?

We backed up a phone that had been encrypted prior and the user forgot what they had used for the encryption password. Is there any way to unlock this?

Yes.
See;    When you restore from a backup in iTunes, you may be asked for a password to unlock the backup. Learn what to do if you can't remember or do not know your backup password   >  iOS: Troubleshooting encrypted backups

How do I unlock my iPad2 if i forgot my password?

i had this problem with my ipod touch 4g and unfortunately i cant be unlocked. you have to go to the laptop/ computer you set your ipad up with and plug it in and go to the part where it says the name of your ipad and and everythng and go to the bottom and click reset. it may take a while but about an hour at most. so then all your apps and photos and everything will be wiped out but you can always go back to your pc and put the music/videos back on but not everything else, sadly, so just reset it and it will look brand new. i hope i helped.

    Try this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Just got an iphone 5s, I'm trying to transfer info from old phone but it's for a password to unlock iphone backup, I;ve never had a password for this before. How do I get the password?

    Hi,
I've just bought an Iphone 5s, I'm trying to sync it to transfer all my info from my iphone 4 but when I click on continue to restore from this back up, it's asking for a password. I didn't have a password for the previous phone. Can anyone help?

If the backup you're trying to restore from is encrypted, & you don't know the encrypted passcode, the backup will be unusable & you will not be able to recover any data from it. Encrypting an iPhone backup is not done automatically. You, or someone, had to elect to encrypt it to begin with, and no, there is no default passcode.
Did you have an Exchange account on your iPhone 4? It is common for Corp. Exchange accounts to require an iPhone backup be encrypted. If you did, you might try your Exchange password.

  • How to unlock all MBAM encrypted drives from the startup

    Hi,
One of my client is using MBAM 2.5 in his environment and all the clients are running on Windows 7 ENT SP1.
Once the user logging to his encrypted PC it will only unlock the operating system drive. User has to go to my computer and he has to unlock the second drive. My client is looking for a solution to unlock both the drives from the windows startup.
Appreciate if you could help me to find a way to achieve this requirement.
    Cheers
    Chanaka

You can achieve it by setting auto unlock setting for the Fixed data drive, here is the link for that:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn645338.aspx. Only
caviet for having auto unlock is that your OS drive must be encrypted.

Not true. If you restore the phone on the computer that it was last backed up to it will remove the passcode. See

My son forgot his password.  How can I unlock it without restoring?

    You can't.
Connect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iPod in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup.
If you can not restore your device then you will need to go to recovery mode.
Placing your device into recovery mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
         1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
         2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
              and Home buttons.
         3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
             start with step 2 again.
         4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
         5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
         6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

  • How do you restore iphone 4s when you forget restriction password, how do you restore iphone 4s when you forget restriction password

i lost internet on my phone and the only way to get it back is to restore the phone the only problem is there is the restriction password on there and i have no idea what it is. so how can i restore it without that password and no itunes

You will need to get access to some computer running iTunes to restore the iPhone. There is no way to restore the iPhone otherwise, with or without a restrictions password. To remove the restrictions passcode, restore the iPhone to factory settings, which will delete all your data and documents. You can then sync back or re-download your apps, music, movies, etc.

  • When i try to buy a song on the itunes store it says something about verifying my security questions. How do i get new ones if you forget your password?

    Any help?

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) on your account then the steps half-way down this page will give you a reset link on your account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 link above to add a rescue email address for potential future use

You have posted from a Support Article about Error Code 3194...
If that Article did not resolve it... then you have a problem.
Perhaps a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is required..
Be sure to make an appointment first...
    Note:
That error message may be indicative of the Device being Hacked / jailbroken.... If this is the case then you are on your own.
