How images come to on the surface of our monitors ...

I'm a newbie in color management and I want to ask a question to a real color guru ... thanks a lot in advance.
When we look at the sRGB monitor, the image we see in ACR, comes to us with the following steps:
1. Linear raw image,
2. Linear RGB data after demosaicing,
3. Linear input profile interprets the RGB data created by demosaicing process and send them to the PCS for step 4,
4. Gamma encoded any color space we choose as a working space (ProPhoto RGB for example),
5. sRGB, at the monitor ... we see these sRGB image on our monitors.
Are all these steps correct?
Or, any missing step?
And, additionally, input profiles are always linear?

Thank a lot Andrew, twenty-one ...
I'm especially intrested in the functions of input profiles in the process.
Let's leave soft proofing aside  .... and let's say camera is in JPEG mode ...
How many steps are there in cameras for creating a JPEG image from the color management perspective?
And, also let's leave aside the preview display on the camera LCD.
Sensor gathers linear raw data and demosaicing process creates three channel, linear RGB data ... this linear RGB image is untagged and has very large gamut ... this untagged RGB data are then converted into the specified RGB space (sRGB or Adobe RGB for most of the cameras) by the input profile.
So, the process in cameras for JPEG creation has the following steps: sensor raw data > untagged, very large gamut RGB by demosaicing > input profile converts the untagged, very large gamut RGB to the specified color space (sRGB or AdobeRGB) ... and then we have JPEG file in our hands.
Are these steps correct?
Thanks a lot for your time ...

    Hi all,
Can You Pl expalin me in detail "How to come out of the  infinite loop by passing a perticular message in BPM Scenarios"
    Thanks,
    Srinivasa

    Hi Potharaju,
For this al you need to do is define an IP with two branches. One of the branch receives message of a particular type only. And the other branch is used for stopping the message processing. This is achieved using the correlation. Correlation makes sure that the message of the first type goes to the first branch only and that the message of second type should go to the second branch only. Now when the message of the second type is received, the control comes out of the infinite loop.
    Hope it makesit clear.
    Regards,
    Sanjeev.

Why Don't Contact Images Come Along In The VCard File? :-O

Thanks for the replies and help. Since I was taking pictures of the same image in both color and B&W, I didn't know that the B&Ws were being imported in color and didn't catch it. If they were of a different scene, I would have caught it. So, I just learned something about RAW files! Thanks again! Gotta walk before you can run.

  • How to clean /Delete all the jobs from Job monitor.

    Hi,
we have done lot of testing in redwood. we have scheduled many jobs through redwood.we want to clean up the Job monitor now.we want to delete all the jobs from job monitor.
1)Is there any standard system give Job definition to do so?
    2) how to delete jobs in waiting status?(next run is going to lock wait due to this waiting job status)
3)how to delete all the Operator messages?
    Regards
    Rajesh

    Hi,
Yes that was for individual job definitions but often if there are many jobs, most jobs come from only a few job definitions (SAP_AbapRun, SAP_CCMSJob, ...) so these options could help you already to delete most jobs.
You could also create a filter showing all Waiting jobs, then select all jobs, right-click and kill all these jobs.
Then a filter for all jobs in an end-state (Completed, Error, Killed, Canceled), select all jobs, right-click and delete them.
    Regards,
    Anton.

  • How can I print in the surface of a CD/DVD.

I used to do it before, but I forget how to do it. I've got the printer to do it, is a HP Photosmart C-2580 All-in-One

I am not a employee but I think the printers that can print labels/laser-print them onto discs have slots for that and software. I am not entirely sure.
If you can please tell us what you used to connect it, your Windows/Mac version and if the printer is designed to do that, it would help very much.

  • Export images come larger than the original

The other night I did an event shoot and imported JPG photos into Aperture. The file size on average was about 1.5mb/photo, but when I exported the photos, they came out to be like 5.7mb/photo or greater. I couldn't understand why the exporting processing was taking so long, and I discovered it was because the files were too large. This seems to be happening only in Aperture in my laptop. It doesn't seem to happen with Aperture on my Mac Pro. Anyone else experience this problem? Solution?

I can't recall if it defaults to 10 or 12. 12 makes pretty large files, as you've seen
As to "enough" for your photos -- how are you printing? This only affects saved JPEGs. If you're creating files and sending them to a web site for printing... they'll still probably be good enough at 8x10. The real issue is repeatedly re-saving JPEGs over themselves... each time you do a little more quality is lost (JPEG is a "lossy" compression so each time you re-save you lose some more). A single save is probably just fine. But I wouldn't save at quality 9 and then save over it again and again after I'd thrown out my original.

  • How can I tell if the guts of my monitor have been swapped out?

Hey y’all… I have an HP ZR30w monitor that I sold on ebay. The buyer claimed it didn’t work and I had to give the money back. He returned it but there are pixels burned out and spots where the colors are all purple and the case is all scratched up around the seems. The case has the same serial number, {personal info removed}, but I’m positive the guts were swapped out. (I took it apart and screws are missing) It worked perfectly when I shipped it out.
Is there any identification or anything that would indicate if the insides belong to the serial number on the outside?
    Thanks!

    Hello badamsios,
You want to know if you can match the parts inside the monitor to the serial number.
    Sorry to hear what happened.
The only numbers that are going to be on the parts are the part numbers, and they are generic for the part.
    Have a good day.

  • GDM: How to display it in the first screen (Dual monitors)

I have a PCI Express video card which i use for video-output for two screens.
The hing is that when i boot the system up, and gnome gives me the choice for selecting the user and so (GDM), this appears in the secondary screen, which is most of the time switched off.....
Lets say, like i have two screens: Left one and right one: The left one is the one that has the gnome menus, the system tray of the apps, and the right one is the one i move the apps once opened for watching in a bigger screen (it's a tv): This right screen is the one that displays the GDM.... Is there any setting where i can say GDM to appear in the left screen instead?
I hope i made myself clear...
    Thanks!!!

I think that GDM currently decides which monitor it shows up on by where the mouse is, and X starts the mouse exactly in the horizontal center of the full span of the two monitors.. so GDM shows up on the monitor with a wider resolution if they differ, because it contains the center point.
On other forums, some people say that when X starts, you can move the mouse over to the monitor you want quickly before GDM starts and it will show up there.. someone else said that you can move the mouse, click on the monitor you want, hit enter, and the GDM window moves there. I haven't tested either suggestion yet, but I have exactly what you're describing happen to my monitors at work.. it just doesn't bother me because I keep them both on at once
I don't know of a setting to tell X to start the mouse to the left or right, or to tell GDM which monitor to display on.
