How import CDs in Lossless Format with Error Correction?

When I check the error correction option and try to import a CD in Apple Lossless format, it pretends to import the CD very quickly -- it takes less than 30 seconds -- but the tracks have no data. If I uncheck error correction, I can import the CD just fine -- takes the expected time. I only stumbled on this when trying to isolate a noise problem with a CD I'd imported.
I've found this problem mentioned in recent years on Audio Asylum, Audiogon, and Head-Fi forums, but without any explanation for what's up.
I've made sure all my software (OS and application) is current.
I'd appreciate any clues or pointers to threads that discuss what's going on here. I've tried to search this site but have not had any luck.

Have you followed the steps outlined in page 72 of this guide?  This should be applicable to 792x.

Do you have any trace logs from the phone you can post after your attempt to import the cert?

    Well, I have an iPod Classic, it gave me the error -1436 error and would not restore on iTunes.
    I did the following:
    My Boss (@work) has a fairly old iBook but it has OS-X, so I decided to give it a try and connected my iPod to it.
    The system showed a window telling me that the disk is not MAC formated and needs to be validated prior further action. Snce it is a Mac product, I thought "yeah, go ahead".
    It then opens the disk manager utility for the Mac and showed the disk. It's window has some tabs, one is to verify the disk, so I verified it. Guess what, it had some invalid clusters.
    Then I formatted the iPod to OS-X Plus file system (next tab to the right). After formating the iPod, I "ejected" the iPod and reconnected to my PC. The Windows iTunes found an iPod with Mac file system and asked me to restore it. As I clicked on the "restore" button, I crossed my fingers as this was the last resource I have.
    Finally, after the file extraction was done, it began to restore the iPod!!
    I'm so happy about being able to restore the iPod that I decided to share with all you guys this solution as it is the most usefull, in my opinion.
    Hope you can find someone with an iBook or a desktop Mac, so you can fix yours.

    I let a video sit overnight and import while I was asleep. I woke up with an error message. Thought maybe it was all lost and I would just need to re-import it. But my hard drive is still missing about 20gb so the videos have to be somewhere... help me please!?!?

    I just do what the default setting is
    That may not be correct.
    If the TV system in your country in NTSC, set the frames-per-second setting to 29.97fps.
    If the TV system in your country in PAL, set the frames-per-second setting to 25fps.
    Then *create a new project*, choosing DV (4:3) or DV (Widescreen) as appropriate for your footage.
    Import and save.
    When importing HDV, select an appropriate HD project *when you create a new project*. iMovie will convert the footage automatically to an editable form (using Apple Intermediate Codec, AIC).

    I'm at 95% under windows and 80%  on my MAC.  Is this anyway to run a "business  Totally Absurd"  !!
    error -1303, error -50.  have read all the forums on this... nothing works reliably.  I can rip the BluRay faster than this importing process... takes days sometimes to finally get a full download.
    Sometimes I get to 100% downloaded (xx.xx GB of xx.xxGB) and it sits there for hours, sometimes if even fails at that point.  Totally unacceptable.

  • My browser displays text only with very little page formating for all pages. How do I enable page formating with images etc.?

    I have a multi-user windows based machine where both users have the same browser, search engine, plugins, applications, etc. I use this machine primarily as an entertainment system (ie. TV client/server using a TV Tuner card, Music & Video Player, etc.). Most of my time on this machine is maintaining security and drivers. However, my wife uses it primarily as a social media communication device. My user account on this machine displays all content correctly. Where as she has crashed both Facebook games while playing as well as her mail (GMail). After one of these crashes it "appears" she is displaying HTML text with formatting but without images. I've tried to fix this without success. We have another machine that seems fine so it's not her login on our network, just the one machine. Please help!!!

    You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
    You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
    *Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
    Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
    "Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

  • How to print in portrait format with iPhoto 8.0.2 (iLife '09)?

    I found the File menu in iPhoto 8.0.2 is missing the Page setup option.
    When I try to print a vertical picture (portrait format) on an A4 paper sheet with my Epson Stylus Photo R320, the preview box in the Print window shows the picture correctly filling the vertical photo paper, but in the print preview (and in the printed sheet, if I go ahead) the picture is only filling the left half of the paper sheet - the picture long side is matching the sheet short side. Apparently no way to solve this problem: the printing setup window doesn't has any orientation option.
    Certainly I'm missing something: I cannot believe the newest iPhoto version does not allow to print full paper sheet vertical images!
    Help!

    iPhoto 09 correctly prints portrait for me with an Epson R280. I select paper size = borderless letter or A4 and Print=borderless. Do a print to PDF and see if the corrected orientations is getting saved that way.
    Next, close iPhoto, delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, launch iPhoto and see if that helps. You'll have to reset your various iPhoto preferences, sharing, background color, etc.

  • How to remove the HTML formatting from error sources

    Does anybody have a good way to strip the HTML mark-up that often shows up in the source field of an error cluster.  I would like to log the error source to a text file, and display the error source in a text control, without the HTML mark-up.
    I'm using LabView 8.5, but I'm sure a solution for an older version of LabVIEW can be easily adapted to the latest version.

    If you are running CS 5 on Windows, it is possible that the Bridge process is running in the background.
    Try these steps to fix the issue:
    1. Navigate to the task manager. (can be done by right clicking on the taskbar and clicking on task manager).
    2. In the task manager dialog, click on the "processes" tab.
    3. Select "show processes from all uses".
    4. Look for a process named "bridge.exe" in the list of processes.
    5. Select bridge.exe and click on end process.
    6. Try uninstalling the software and see if the problem persists.

  • How to handle multiple image montage with color corrections

    I am using Photoshop CS5 and am creating a photo montage poster with about 30 images on it.  The photos are not stellar and I need to change levels, exposure, saturation etc to each image.  I was creating groups from layers for each image then dropping it onto the montage file, but I see that filters effect every layer below.  I have a gradient layer as my background and I don't want it affected nor do I want every layer below affected.  I created smart layers from each image, that works, but it really slows the system down.  What is the smartest and most efficient way to handle this?

    use the clipping mask
    so you make the adjustment layer, then click layer > create clipping mask
    this essentially ties that adjustment to the layer below
