How important are Aggregation and Exceptional aggregation

Hai All,
When defining a key figure, we define the aggregations, Aggregation (Min, Max etc.)and Exceptional Aggreagtion (Min, Max etc.).
How important are these. For example, for delivery dates, I know that thats the way the result row is calculated, either to display the min or max value. But except this, is there any other effect such as if there are more than one delivery date then defining Min. would take the earliest delivery date???
Please correct me if I am wrong. But I am just trying to find out the complete use of that definition of aggregation when creating key figures.
Thanks.

there are diffferent settings for keyfigure aggreation and bex display settings
rsa1 > change kf > aggregation tab:
this is the one which determince if the kf is a cumulative or  non-cumulative.
rsa1 > change kf > additional properties :
here are the bex display settings.

  • How Important Are Broadcast Colors?

I know the purpose of broadcast colors, keeping your IRE levels above 7.5 and below 100, but how important is this if you're not going to broadcast? If you're just making a video for DVD and web, do you still need to apply Broadcast Colors to your entire project? Is there a chance of your video damaging televisions? Are the newer televisions (i.e. LCDs, Plasmas, etc) still prone to this type of damage?

    >Is there a chance of your video damaging televisions? Are the newer televisions (i.e. LCDs, Plasmas, etc) still prone to this type of damage?
A DVD is digital, meaning it will whatsoever NEVER give out more than all bits set to 1 (or set to high in other wording). That is an absolute limit! And then, the digital to analog converter will only put out what its max is for all bits = 1, also an absolute limit. And I can assure you that any input circuity that receive that output from the digital to analog converter will tolerate that signal (unless the designers were drunk and everybody in the quality assurance department also was more than drunk).
Now, of course, if you made a DVD with only white video that made all bits be 1, and played that over and over for a long time on your TV (CRT, or "tube"), yes, you would probably, after a year or two, see some degradation to your TV's screen.
By now I hope you understand that plasma and LCD which is digital to "the end", just can't get over-loaded.
But, screen-savers are there for a reason, and that's only for "tear and wear" (sp?) and "burn in" (burn in is mostly for CRT's though).
Broadcast colors are something to be aware of though. It is a hang-over from an all analog world with signals that could go "all over the limits" and screw up circuitry. Probably not so much ruin them (they made limiters before also) but make them to behave funny.
It seems to me like some encoders (maybe more codecs) have this "taste of the hang-over" because sometimes they do strange things when it comes to "very high luminance in some spots".
So, have it mind, but like Jim, I haven't had too much problems with that (making sure I'm within broadcast colors). I think it's all about testing your output (DVD or web) before delivery.

  • How important are camera settings if you use ACR?

    Just curious....

How important is it to properly adjust the settings on your camera when taking pictures if you can change white balance, exposure, etc. in ACR?
    Just curious....
It is critical to get exposure right in the camera. If the dynamic range of the scene is less than that of the camera, you have some exposure latitude, but it is best to expose to the right so as to get a better signal to noise ratio. Some degree of overexposure can be corrected in ACR, but blown channels (the green usually blows first due to white balance) result in loss of data and the colors may not be accurate. The white balance set on the camera does not affect the raw data, but is merely stored as metadata. If there is no neutral reference in the scene (a WhiBal or similar card is better than a white T-shirt), the an accurate white balance may be hard to obtain. In this case, it is better to use a WB preset by taking a reading from a white balance card.
ACR ignores camera settings other than WB, so the contrast, saturation and tone curve set on the camera are of no significance.

  • How important are the Cache Backup Battery Modules

I have finally gotten my raid in full speed by selecting write cache and drive cache options in the raid admin. It looks like cache backup batteries are recommended for those options, but I don't have any. How critical is it to have those batteries ? I work with broadcast video and 12 client setup.

If you aren't using a UPS, they are very important. If you suddenly lose power with the cache enabled, there will be data that was written to cache but not to disk. That data will be lost -- this could cause data loss and/or corruption of the volume.
If you have a UPS (actually, two separate UPSes with one side of the RAID connected to each), then the battery back-up modules are less important. What they do is maintain power to the cache for at least 72 hours in the event of a power failure. So long as you get power back to the RAID within this window, data will be safely pushed from the cache down to the disks on the RAID.
For $300, I think it's an easy choice, personally.

  • How Important are ICC Profiles when Importing Stills into Premiere Pro?

    Hello,
I came across the following troubling language in a review of one of Steven Hullfish's books on Color Correction:
"I also felt as though the author neglected to give ICC profiles enough attention.
Granted, they are seldom used in pure video workflows, but there are an awful lot of folks out there compositing still images into video content who need to know how to soft-proof against the right destination space in Photoshop so they aren't surprised by the color shifts they see in their ICC-unaware video software. Surely that should merit a pull-quote of its own somewhere."
My photos have been saved in PhotoShop in the ProRes color space.  Is this going to cause unpredictablility in how my colors look when shown on a 30 foot screen?
Is Premiere Pro a type of what this author describes as "ICC-unaware" video software?
If so, what steps should I be taking?
    Thanks,
    Matt Dubuque, 100 Trees

Premiere Pro does not use ICC color profiles at all. Photoshop and After Effects do.
When you are working with non-color-managed applications, it's especially important that you preview your work and check your output on the same sort of device on which your audience will be viewing it.

  • How Important are Microsoft Certifications to Employers in the States?

Here's the way it goes in the States:
    Experience > Certifications > Degrees
While some places require degrees, many don't. Even less so for certs. It's all about the experience.
Will he have an edge over someone with no certs? Yes, but if he has certs and zero experience, that may actually hurt him.
Sure, have him go for Microsoft Certs - in areas he's interested in (that's key), but have him start to get some experience (freelancing, contracting, whatever) and he'll be in good shape.

Hi all,My brother will be applying to become a US citizen in the next year and if he's approved then I can file an I-130 to get a green card to work and live. I'm currently in the stages of creating a check list of what needs to be done, how much it's going to cost, how long it's going to take etc for moving to America with my family. My question is related to finding employment. I have several good contacts through my brother, all of whom work in IT. While they will have their own experiences and view points, I was looking to see if anyone else had moved to the states and found work in an IT company. Specifically, what are employers views on Microsoft certifications? The reason I ask is, I've got a masters in data networks and security (basically covered the CCNP track) and I've got a CCNA (Expired) but I found my way into the world of...

  • Google books vs. iBooks vs. iTunes? how import epub, PDFs, and Google books

I have a new iPad and I'm trying to figure out where my ebooks will be stored. I have a bunch of PDFs and some .epub books, as well as some in Google Books. Do the ones in Google books live in the cloud or do they get downloaded to my device (can I read them when there's no network)? Can I somehow get everything in one app - say, iBooks - can I get the Google books and my .epub and PDF files in there? What's the easiest way to do that? I know I can separately "open in iBooks" each file opened on the device but I'd like to add them in bulk without having to open each one in another app and then add it manually.

    I use Stanza, and iBooks.
Stanza will let you download directly from your MacBook through WiFi, and if you put books (epub or pdf) on a personal webpage, you can add a "website" to Stanza as a source for downloading.
Stanza also has built in sources with thousands of books. You use "get books" at the bottom of the screen, then "catalog" at the top, and you will see Bookstores for $$ books, and several "Free Book" sites including project gutenberg with a huge collection, you can even get sheet music from the master composers, all free.
Stanza runs also on your MacBook, and another program to get for your Mac is "Calibre" - an excellent program that will convert books from one format to another and make the library of books visible to stanza if you turn on the server mode in Calibre.
So with these programs, you go directly to the iPad using WiFi, no cables, no need to sync with iTunes.
    Hope this helps.

  • How important are DVRs?

With VOD offering additional content almost everyday? I've never had VOD in the past, so I am not sure what it is like, and if it truly can be a viable solution. I could see DVRs maybe still being required for live sports action for replays, etc. But I would think at some point almost everything would be available on VOD and you wouldn't need locally timeshift programming on a DVR anymore. Does VOD keep up with the most recent shows from the networks yet? Or is it just older content?

A DVR completely changes the way you watch TV.  For instance, if you like a particular show, you setup a timer for it, and all new episodes gets recorded automatically.  Then, you get to watch it whenever you want to, not when it's actually on.  And you get to skip right through all the commercials.
Sometimes, we'll turn a game on TV, hit pause, do some stuff for about a half hour, and then come back and hit play.  Now we have a half hour worth of time outs and commercials to skip through.  It dramaticallly changes baseball games  ;-)
If I didn't have a DVR, I'm not sure that I'd be convinced by these arguments, but once you have a DVR, you will never go back!

  • To ensure all invoices are accounted and mailed for

Business wants to ensure all the AR invoices accounted and mail to customers.  Is there any standard report to see the number of invoices printed and mailed in SAP?
    Regards,
    Jagadeesan

    Hi Mark,
    Thanks a lot.
In house only but printing done by non-sap software. Due to problem with the software some customers may not get invoices. They will send mail or call. We will reprint and send it back to them.
We want to automate this process in SAP or by atleast see how many are printed and mailed successfully in SAP.   So that we will compare this figure with the actual printing output figure with non sap software. Is there any standard report available?.

    Correct.
After that just select the new folder location in iTunes> Advanced settings.
    Incorrect.
    Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library and select the iTunes folder.
This will read the iTunes library.itl file in this folder and the library as it was previously will be opened.

Ok, I had a glitch, forced to restart, and lost my train of thought.
Reinstalling iTunes should fix the major issue that might have gone wrong, perhaps your explaination points will disappear and everything will be peachy again.
But if they don't, you can open the XML file in iTunes Folder using a Text edit program to see what the common pathname is to the iTunes Music folder or where your content is located.
If you moved the itunes folder, it needs to go back.
I can't  download iTunes to my Vista virtual machine to test it out right now because iTunes is down, so I can't verify the pathname, perhaps your issue and the iTunes being down are related somehow?
You don't want to import all your music again, but it's a option, but you lose all your playlists, that's what I'm trying to recover.
If oyu don't have a whole lot of playlists, then simply select all the explaimation point music and delete, select File from the menu and import your itunes folder again.
