How in the world can I delete music off of my sons iPod?

I will start by saying I am not a computer whiz by any means of the word ... I have tried going into iTunes on the iPod but I am not finding any "Options" to manage the account settings in there. So then I connected te iPod up to my Mac hoping I could then manipulate it that way but I too am having no luck - what am I missing? UGH and sigh ... please help as for his iPod is full and he wants to have his games rather then music at this point.
Thank you much!

Thank you I will do that -

  • How can i delete music off of my ipad 2, how can i delete music off of my ipad 2

I have an ipad 2 it has software vision 4.3.2 how can i delete music off of it. it wont let me when i attach it to my computer and it wont delete directly from the ipad

If its to save room I wouldn't drag the files to the trash. That would get rid of them for good. I know you said you can't by computer, if your syncing with that computer, under music when it's connected, don't sync full library. Go through and select the certain songs you want. If its to delete just off your iPad because you don't have a comp read what ana posted.

  • I am not much of a computer technician. I bought a time capsule thinking I could use this for an external hard drive and keep my MAC hard drive free. Was I mistaken? One I back everthing up on the TC, can I delete everything off of my MAC?

I am not much of a computer technician. I bought a time capsule thinking I could use this for an external hard drive and keep my MAC hard drive free. Was I mistaken? Once I back everything up on the TC, can I delete everything off of my MAC and then use my TC as my hard drive??

Once I back everything up on the TC, can I delete everything off of my MAC and then use my TC as my hard drive??
TC was designed to backup your Mac. The TC literature is pretty clear about this:
If your Mac's hard drive has a problem....it will sooner or later....you can use your backup on the TC to rebuild your Mac.
But.....if you move all of your data to the TC from your Mac....you only have one version of that data now, and it is on the TC.
Have you thought about what will happen when....not if....the TC has a problem?  Since the only version of your important data was on the TC, and the TC has failed......you lose all of your data.....because you have no backup.
A much better plan would be to add a USB or FireWire hard drive and connect it directly to your Mac. Move the data on your Mac over to the hard drive.
Then, the TC will backup both your Mac and the hard drive.  So, you have original data on on one drive and backups on another drive.
That would be a minimum backup plan. Most of us have more than one set of backups.

  • How can I delete music off my iphone 5 that was a "purchased" item, and it isn't in my itunes on my computer?

I accidentally downloaded a free song from Starbucks months ago, and now I can't get it off my phone. It won't show up when I manually delete music, either on my computer or when I try the swipe method on my phone. It's just there.
There's two songs, actually, and I want them both gone. Turning off my cloud connection didn't change it because they are downloaded onto my phone and won't leave! I just want them gone, because it's a nuisance and I don't even like them. I have a PC, so no tricky Mac tricks will work for me. Please help! Is this some glitch in the software or something?

    Hello kerrisapatricia,
It sounds like you have a couple of songs you want to delete from your iPhone. This article should help with that:
How to delete content you've downloaded from the iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, or Mac App Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5772
    To delete a song:
    Tap the Music app.
    Tap the Songs category.
Swipe left to right over the song you want to delete.
    Tap Delete.
If you see a cloud icon next to them right now, or after you delete them you can hide them by turning off Show all Music in your settings here:
    Tap Settings > Music
    Download past purchases

    No, just your iPhone.

  • Can I get music off a corrupted/broken ipod nano at the apple store?

My Ipod nano had a cracked screen soon after I first got it and the screen was replaced.
My second Ipod nano screen began lifting up in the corner awhile ago, I thought nothing of it until it snagged on a persons clothing and tore the wire ribbon, taking the screen clean off.
As I ran out of space on my old computer, I had to delete all of my music, the ipod was the only way that I stored it, I tried to connect the broken ipod to my new computer to get my music back but it now claims to be corrupted.
If I take it to a store, will they be able to get my music off and onto a pen drive for me? how much will this cost?
The ipod has no warranty due to being a replacement for a fire hazard first generation nano.

No, if you are getting a message that the iPod is corrupted there is no way to retrieve your music.

  • Downloaded itunes 10.5 and now I can't delete music off Nano (5th w/ camera).

I just updated my iTunes last night and this morning I was trying to remove music of my iPod -- and It would not let me delete the music off of it. The only option I get is once i plug in the ipod -- It will allow me the option to delete all the music and sync my libary to the ipod, which is not what I want to do. I've asked friends and they are having the same issue.
What do I need to do to fix this issue?

Please describe in detail all you have attempted to do in order to resolve the issue.  Have you tried resetting your iPod Nano?

  • I can't delete music off my ipod

I am trying to manage my music on my ipod touch, 4th gen. I have it set up for manual management on my itunes and after i sync my ipod my music tab for my ipod in itunes is gray and i cannot select anything. I have tried looking online for a solution but nothing has been helpful yet. I do have an update pending, the 6.1.5 update, does this need to be installed before I can manage my music? itunes match is also not on. Is there anything I can do, short of reseting my ipod?

The options on the Music tab are used with the Sync option, so I guess that's why they're greyed out to you. (I've never tried Manual Mangement.)
Manual management is usually not the best way to manage your iPod. If the iPod ever needs Restoring, you will have to manually add everything back onto the iPod afterwards. If you lose the iPod, or when you need to replace it with a newer one, again, everything you have "set up" will need to be manually added onto the replacement iPod.
Have you thought about managing the iPod using Sync (there's no such thing as "manual sync") and Sync only ticked songs and videos? With those options, simply unticking a song in iTunes will remove it from the iPod but keep it in your Library. Changes to songs (corrections to typing errors, revised genres etc.) are made in iTunes and the next Sync will reflect those changes on the iPod. (With manual management, the change either needs to be made twice - on the iPod and in the Library, or it requires removing a song from the iPod, making the changes in the Library and then putting the song back onto the iPod.)
If your Library is too large for the iPod, then by using Smart Playlists it's possible to keep songs, albums and artists on the iPod all the time, but automatically remove other songs (that you want to hear less often for example) and only putting them back after a set period of time, thereby reducing the space required on the iPod.

  • Deleting Music off 5th Gen. Ipod

I bought a 5th gen. ipod from somebody and i called apple to find out anyway to delete songs off of it and the guy said there is no way through itunes but does somebody know anyway to do it another way....if so email me at [email protected]

How you delete content from your iPod depends how you have it set to update:
If you are updating automatically then delete the files from the iTunes library and next time you connect they will automatically be deleted from your iPod. Highlight the file and press the delete key on your keyboard, or right click and choose either Clear or Delete, depending on which version of iTunes you are using.
If you are updating manually, connect your iPod and click on the icon when it shows in the iTunes 6 source list. In iTunes 7, click on the chevron to the left of the iPod icon in the Source list. This will display the various icons for the iPod itself, Music, Movies, TV Shows and Playlists. Click on Music and you'll see the traditional song view.
Find the files on your iPod that you want to remove, highlight them and delete directly.
To select multiple items such as all the songs in an album, click on the first track in the list hold down the shift key and click on the last track to highlight the selection. Then press the delete key.
To summarise, you start by highlighting the song/video/selection in either the iTunes library or on the iPod song list as displayed in iTunes then press the delete key on your keyboard: Deleting songs or playlists from your iPod

  • Have an iTunes account w/email addr I no longer have access to... how in the world can i combine that with my new Apple account

I have had an iPod Nano for several years and had an iTunes account.  I no longer have access to the email address connected to that account.  I just bought an iPhone4s and set up a new account with my current email address as user id.  How can i get these 2 accounts combined so I can sync music from my iPod to my iPhone?

You cannot combine accounts at all.
Why did you create a new one?
Just change the e-mail address associated with the old one.
