How Index will work in Oracle ? By using index, why the query performance will be increased ?

When you want to find something in that book, do you look at each page consecutively until you find what you want or do you look at the index in the back of the book to find the page numbers that relate to what you want to find?

1.Production version is a combination of BOM & Routing in Discrete scenario & in REM scenario its a
combination of BOM & Rate routing/Routing.The same can also be created only containing the BOM incase if it is going to be
used for a sub-contracting purchase info record.
2.Production version is a method or technique which's is used to produce a material.
3.A Material may be having one or more than one production version.
4.Production version can be differentiated by using either the validity date or Lot size range.
5.Say For Eg: Prod.Version1 --> Alt BOM1 & Routing1
Prod.Version2---> Alt BOM2 & Routing 1.
6.It has the status Locked and unlock.We can lock it when it is to blocked for any usage purpose.
6.Generally its created using T code MM02,by selecting MRP4 view and clicking on Production version key.
7.It's a master data in REM scenario.
8.Production versions can also be created using T code C223 for more than one material.
9.Planned independent requirements can be created production version specific in MD61.

IF there are two release strategy, How it will work?
Hi, Can u Please help, if we have two release strategy, and PO first gets blocked by one release strategy, if we release that PO and check for the another release strategy, it is possible in ABAP? and How? Which Function module or BAPI we have to use for checking both the releasing strategies, If PO gets blocked by one release strategy and it is released from that particular release strategy, PO should get blocked by another release strategy, HOW this works? Kindly HELP!

But instead of using cumulative, if you use defrential level 2 backups from maonday to saturday, it will do the same for you and will occupy less space.

Tusharit works or not i dont know but its mix plate which is too complex too manage past backupsets which in turn also challenging to recover from these strategy if something goes wrong between backupsets.

MRN9 How it will work when the stock is negative qty
Hi,
We have facing one problem while doing inventory valuation.
when we running the program MRN9 it will determine the balance sheet value from comparition of lowest price then it will update.
But the stock in negativeside like -1000kg qty and the NRV price is 50 and FIFO price is 60.
When running the program it has determine lowest value.But in negative side it is showing the price as -60000 is the lowest value. As a mathmedical it is correct. But when you see the other side (50000) compare with (60000) the value (50000) is the lowest price.
could you any one help to explain or any notes are available to rectify the issue.
this is happening only for negative stock. Positive stock it is working fine.

Inventory management - Label printing - How this will work
In Material Master under Plant data/Storage location 1 we have Label type and Label Form. How to make use of this?
We have in IMG under inventory management> messages> Print control> Label printing. how to configure to get desired number of labels to be printed?Hemanth - I am having the same problem. No matter which data element I choose, number of labels printed are based on base unit of measure. I want to use E3 for label count based on order unit of measure but I cannot make this work.

Assignment/Validation-How Replace will work?
Hi, I need to write formula which can replace value of the field.
For example: In Assigement, I need to check Name1 field for Company name and than replace the value with new value. There is no REPLACE function available in Assigement tab in data manager. How can I replace the value?
For example:
Name 1 contains Mr. Robert D'soza- For this value I need to remove Mr. and last name and wants to make name1: Robert and name2: D'soza. I tried different ways like trim left, trim right and all but unable to write excact formula.
Can some one help me out ???

Have you found a solution as yet ? Well, sorry for the delay, but the trim all function trims every thing else except what is mention in paranthesis.
For example: the follwoing statement
If(Is_not_null(Name1),Trim_all("The"),Name1)
removes all the other characters in the name field except ´the' . Though this is not entirely your requirement, you could use this explicitly on records to remove the 'the' by specifying the rest of the name in the trim statement.
Will keep trying to check if a more generic assignment can be made.
By the way you could use the value conversion filter in the import manager o nthe name 1 field to replace the ´The´characters with spaces , am sure you must considered this option too .

I hooked my iPod up to my notebook, which has iTunes and is set up for my daughter's iPod 30GB Video. I have the old clickwheel 20 GB. Mine is set up to use my desktop computer. I thought it would not harm it to just charge it on my notebook as long as the notebood was turned off. Then when connecting to desktop, I got the do not disconnect sign..I ended up rebooting the computer and ended up with the sad iPod face. I have reset so many times and cannot restore iPod. I have charged it numerous times with the wall outlet. When connected to the desktop, it just shows the Apple icon. I have reinstalled iTunes. Please let me know if you find an answer to this problem. Best of luck to us both.

Want to get Match but I have a question about how it will work on a computer I don't normally use.
I used to use my parents computer to connec to my ipod. Since then I stopped using a computer and have only been using iOS devices. I was wondering if I sign into iTunes on my parents computer that has a bunch of songs ripped from CDs and buy iTunes Match and throw all the songs on there to the cloud then sign out from the computer will I be able to upload or even download those songs from the cloud onto my iOS devices?
An iOS device is only a client for iTunes Match. No scanning, matching or uploading is done from it. A computer running iTunes is required for that. However, any music you purchase from the store on an iOS device is automatically added to iTunes Match.

How old a version of Calendar will work with syncML?
I need to know if our version of the calendar server will work with Oracle Sync Server or Oracle mobile data, and therefore syncML. How old of a version of calendar will work?
We are running corporate time 5.4 (don't laugh too hard).

How Indexing function in Oracle UCM 11g
Hello All,
I am using Oracle UCM 11g on Windows platform.
I wanted to know as how the indexing in Oracle UCM Funtions? Here are few more questions related to this.
1. If multiple language characters are added in document and if document is indexed, then
how the data (tokens) will be stored in Database?

This is stored in the DB tables IdcColl1 or IdcColl2 ( if DB FullText is search indexer engine) and table would be IdcText1 or IdcText2(if OracleTextSearch indexer is used) . It is these tables that store the entire data from the contents and they are referred to / queried when a FT search is invoked from UCM .
b. how indexing will be done?
Indexer would extract all the data from the contents in case of FT indexer mechanism and would store them in the DB tables mentioned above . It is stored in BLOB columns where in the extraction process would do an insert for every content item that is being processed when Collection Rebuild Cycle / Automatic Update cycle is started .
2. What is settings to be done in Oracle and search engine for this?
For DB the relevant UCM scripts need to be executed so that the correct role are created and the packages are created.
3. What will be extra settings need to be done in case if the OS changes for example Linux.
The relevant libraries need to be checked to make sure that indexer can access them since there are lots of dependent libraries for the indexer process which is invoked by the TextExport process and these libraries vary for different OS . As part of the indexer process to be running fine all that needs to be done is to install/enable the OS specific versions of ContentAccess component on UCM .
Hope this gives an understanding on the Indexing part of UCM .

Derivation rule contains the parameters and conditions as to how to derive a value for a given characteristic.
it contains
Source Fields - from where the source field is originatingand the field name
Target fields - contains what is the target field in COPA for the relevant source field.
This field is nothing but the charactiristic.
For example:
When an SD document is posted, system will look for all the characterics available in the doucment like plant, profit center, division, district, country etc
for each of these characteristics, there must be values for example plant - xx18, profict center - 100000, district - bangalore, country - India etc.
once we define the characteristic values for each of the characteristic, if the values in the document are available in the characteristic value definition, then system will fetch these values to COPA
Else it will throw error that characteristic value is not defined
