How install Connector Server in IDM 8.1
Hi,
I have problem with installation of Connector Server.
1.I downloaded .msi package and made installation of Connector Server Windows Service Installer v1.0 on same server as IDM 8.1. Also .NET 3.5 was installed.
2.After that I downloaded ActiveDirectory.Connector-1.0.0.4521.zip and extracted all .dll files into Conector server directory.
3.Also I restarted conector server service.
4.After that I opened IDM and tried to find page Configure->Connector Servers. But no page like this was appeared. I was logged as Configurator (with full permission). [See my menu|http://meloun.ic.cz/tmp/idm/connector_server.png]
Where could be problem?
For downloading of connector server I used [this page|https://identityconnectors.dev.java.net/downloads.html] .
For setting I used [this page|https://identityconnectors.dev.java.net/idm_info.html] and [this page|https://identityconnectors.dev.java.net/connector_server.html]
thanks for tips
Petr
Sorry for delay. It's fresh installation.
I'm not sure about right version of my MySQL Server - it's 5.0.51b and MySQL client is 5.1.11. Apache Tomcat Server is 6.0.18.
Is Product registration required for this feature?
thanks

Hi, I bought a new PC with preinstalled Windows 8. Now I need to install Windows Server 2008. Anyone can advise me how to
do it? It has to be in dual boot, in Virtual Machine the display is way too smallYou should check out the Boot-to-VHD capability.
Here is how we do it in a lab environment which we got from a Microsoft lab:
-Verify your computer is running Windows 7 or later.
-Verify you have full administrator rights to your currently installed operating system.
-Verify hard disk encryption or other pre-boot security is turned off.
-Confirm that hardware virtualization technology and memory protection are both enabled in your computer's BIOS setup.
Now we just setup the a VHD with an operating system on it (can even use a downloaded server 180 day trial VHD if you are in a rush). Then go to Disk Management and select Attach VHD and point to the file. Note the drive letter that is assigned to the
mounted VHD.
Run a command prompt as administrator and type: " bcdedit /export BCDBackup.bak " to create an exported backup of your boot loader configuration. Now type bcdboot [drive]:\windows.
Now to test your dual-boot configuration, restart your computer and select the new OS boot option.
An optional last step would be when complete to restore your boot loader by running "bcdedit /import BCDBackup.bak" and delete any VHD files.
A more detailed guide written for Windows 7 but still applies for Windows 8 can be found at:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/video/windows-7-boot-from-vhd.aspx
Hope that helps. -

How to install owb server-side software on UNIX Solaris (SPACR-64)?
Hi there,
How to install owb server-side software on UNIX Solaris (SPACR-64)?
I've read the install guide
and it mentions
3. Start the installer by entering the following at the prompt:
cd mount_point
./runInstaller
I don't have access to any graphical interface on the UNIX box e.g. x-windows nor any cd with the software, just the solaris software downloaded from web - does this include the runinstaller
and is the runisnatller just a command line interface?
I hoped I would be able to download the software from oracle website and then simply run the a setup scrip?
Is it possible to do this? Would I simply substitute cd mount_point to cd <directory I put software)
I've never ran oracle universall installer on UNIX before.
Many Thanks

Edited by: user575470 on Feb 15, 2009 8:06 AMHi,
You can install the server-side software from the downloaded software.
You don't need the CD
You do need an X-windows client on your computer to connect to the server OR work directly on the server.
Without X-windows you cannot start the Oracle Universal Installer.
Maybe there is a command line installation, I have never used this.
I hope this helps.

How to install windows server 2003 on Sunfire x4150?
hi, i'm very new to Sun server.Sorry if i dont know anything about it. But now i have to install Windows Server 2003 on this Sunfire x4150 server. How can i do that? I've try to install but it give me error about the driver.
Some question:
1. Can i install both Sun Os (Solaris?) and Windows Server together? If cant, can i format the Solaris OS and install a fresh Windows?
2. OR actually i should install inside a Virtual Machine?
Here are some links that i found. Am i following the right direction? The article suggest me to download FloppyPack from Sun's website. So, should i just downlaod the FloppyPack (360+KB) ? I dont need to download other driver package?
http://www.seedsofgenius.com/pdf/wp1.pdf
http://dlc.sun.com/pdf/820-5837-10/820-5837-10.pdf
Sorry, i have totally no idea at all.
Thank you very much if you can help me . OTLMight be a bit late for you, but if this helps anyone else, good.
I had the same issue with an X4600 lately. You need to download the Sun Installation Assistant cd and boot from it to install anything other than Solaris. This cd is similar to the ones that Compaq andDell sendout with their servers. It will do a semi automatic install after you give it the information about the os, set up disks, etc.
Easy to do, search the sun support site for the SIA image particular to your hardware. -
How to install DAC server (for OBIA v7963) on linux ?
Guys - I am in the mid of installing OBIA v7963 on linux x64 . And right now I am doing the DAC server installation part .
The installation guide http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E20490_01/bia.7963/e19038/windows_ic.htm#BABHDEJJ clearly says that we have to install
DAC server on windows box first and then copy it over to linux . crude and cumbersome !! As per this guide - there is no way to directly install it on linux .
Where as the downloaded DAC s/w has a runInstaller which works in a 32 bit linux shell (not in 64 bit shell) . I did it and the installation went fine .
This is how it is done in our environment . My question is : why does the installation guide say nothing about this easy way of installing it ? And how
do you guys do it usually ? What's the best practice ?You are right RM . I straight away installed it on linux . Me installing DAC for the first time - I had no other choice than following this installation guide
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E20490_01/bia.7963/e19038/windows_ic.htm#BABHDEJJ
But this method of directly installing on linux is no where said in the guide . I wonder why ? And the very purpose of having a installation guide is defeated here .
I have seen typos in oracle documentation . But this is a huge huge miss in the documentation . I can't believe it .
Thank You . -

How to identify the installed Weblogic Server and JDK are 32bit or 64bit?
Hi everyone,
I have a question ~
Both Weblogic Server and JAVA JDK are installed on the server already, but I only know the Weblogic Server is 10.3.4.0 and JAVA JDK version is 1.6.0_25.
I know the 64bit Weblogic Server installation file is a wlsXXXX_generic.jar package and 64bit JAVA JDK needed also.
But, since the Weblogic installed already, there are no such installation files on the Linux Server now.
I have tried the "java -version" for java version and check the Weblogic version from Weblogic console.
How to identify the installed Weblogic Server and JDK are 32bit or 64bit with Linux command? Or is there any way to check it?What you can try to do is use WLST (or an MBean browser, such as JConsole or JRockit Mission Control) and connect to the adminserver.
For example when using WLST:
# set the environment by using setWLSEnv.sh (located in the ${WL_HOME}/server/bin directory).
# start WLST by using: java weblogic.WLST
# connect to the adminserver
connect('adminusername','adminpassword');
# change to the serverruntime environment
serverRuntime();
# show the attributes
ls();
# Here an attribute is shown called WebLogicVersion that shows the version of WebLogic
-r-- WeblogicVersion WebLogic Server 10.3.5.0 Fri Apr 1 20:20:06 PDT 2011 1398638
# Note that this does not show if is 32 bits or 64 bits to retrieve this information you have obtain the JVM version
# change the directory
cd('JVMRuntime/AdminServer');
# show the attributes
ls();
-r-- Version R28.0.1-21-133393-1.6.0_20-20100512-2126-linux-x86_64
# when you have something like x86 at the you are running a 32 bit version, if you have something like x86_64 you are running a 64 bits versionAs mentioned above you can also retrieve this information by using a MBean browser. -

How to Install Application Server Control on top of AS J2EE Installation.
Hi,
I just installed AS 10g 10.1.2, upgraded it to 10.1.2.3 and applied Jul2008 CPU.
It was initially a simple J2EE install (with only J2EE and OC4J).
It seems there is no EM Application Server Control component since all attempts below failed:
http://host.domain:1156
http://host.domain:1156/em
http://IP:1156/
http://IP:1156/em
portlist.ini
Oracle Management Agent Port = 1157
Application Server Control RMI port = 1850
Application Server Control port = 1156
I am accessing the system (unix servers, etc) via vpn.
Question:
1) How do I verify if Application server control is installed or not installed.
2) How do I install Application server control if the component has not been installed
on top of AS 10.1.2.3 (base 10.1.2 install with 10.1.2.3 upgrade Jul2008 cpu)
Thanks.
Our intent is to use Application Server Control to access Workflow manager
TriedAS Control gets installed with every install type so it should be there. Refer this for details:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/core.1012/b13995/tools.htm#sthref110
If http://host.domain:1156 doesn't work, AS Control might not be up. Start it using "$OH/bin/emctl start iasconsole". Refer below (mainly point #3 below) for details on what and how to start a mid-tier instance:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/core.1012/b13995/tools.htm#sthref110

How to install windows server 2012 r2 without remove the current windows 8.1
how to install windows server 2012 r2 without remove the current windows 8.1
Use guide below to convert it to 'basic' disk, or install windows on another drive. The supported way is to delete all partitions and convert it to a basic disk.
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc755238.aspx
However, your windows 8.1 must be on another drive?, as windows cannot boot from a dynamic disk.

thanks a lot to all...Yes, they can. They installed in different directories and you have to use different ports.
AFAIK for HTTP for APEX is either part of the installation (eg. in the Oracle Express Edition) or part of the Oracle Installation CDs. For more information see the Oracle Installation Documentation.
