Now i've got to know something. How is one able to play videos on up to 5 computers if one is not allowed to either burn them to disc, nor stream them via airtunes network? Has anybody else noticed this anomoly? I do not see any reason why Apple forbid Fairplay to allow burning of videos to disc as long as they were only able to play on authorized computers, such as the music purchased from the store.
Not only did they abondon us pre USB 2.0 Mac users who are forced to take a step backwards from firewire with our iPods so that we must allow our music, etc to transfer for hours via USB 1.1, but we are forced to live with our videos on one machine? Would it really have killed them to keep the firewire connectivity? Can it be that much of an added expense? I understand trying to cater to Windows users, but geez...remember your loyal Mac users, most of whom have two firewire ports?
I do have an iBook w/USB 2.0 that I will be using for the new iPod (good thing 'cause otherwise i'd be SOL), but how am I supposed to move a couple of videos I downloaded on my 700Mhz eMac to my iBook, so that I may sync them with the new iPod (when it arrives)?
I mean really, what gives?

You can burn videos onto a data disc which can be read by other computers but which will not be playable in dvd players. Thus, you can put the data disc into another computer that has been authorized through the iTMS and you will be able to view the video. You can authorize up to 5 computers, which includes the one you used to purchase the video. You will not be able to put the disc in a standard dvd player and watch it on tv.

I run win7 64x pro. This is a restatment of problem I posted yesterday I have a hard time believing I'm the first to ever have this problem which is as follows: I used CC Cleaner because of FunMoods, which is the onlt thing I have found that removes that virus thoroughly
Having done that-Face book and a few other sites came up as hyperlinks only with no illustrations, So- I deleted Firefox completely and downloaded a new copy. It downloads but won't open. I used an old copy-13.0 & same thing-does not open.

I am the same one who posted that question though the problem is exactly as described.. I watch the progress bar unpack the download and then it gives me the choice-run with previous settings or as administrator using a password.
Either way-I do not get a new browser. I do get a screen saying that my previous settings may be partially lost. I think a month ago I had also used CC cleaner. At that time-right clicking worked. Now it does not matter. Clicking on the Mozilla download gives me the progress bar but NO unpacked browser.

on the device if you open messages, highlight the newest one you want to delete, click menu button, and click delete prior, this will delete eveything older than it.
if you plug into DTM, goto backup/restore - advanced... you can completely clear the messages database

I made the stupid move to pacman -Sd pacman.
Now i have a broken pacman too. I saw the solution how to upgrade pacman properly but now it's too late.
I tried downgrade pacman to 3.5 but i have this output every time:
sudo pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/pacman-3.5.4-4-i686.pkg.tar.gz
pacman: error while loading shared libraries: libarchive.so.12: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I changed my Apple ID to my new email and now cannot find any way to access icloud. Unfortunately I had allowed icloud to hijack my airbook files, so of course I am afraid I will lose them tomorrow when I exchange my iphone for a new one and cannot keep an icloud account i cannot access. Firefox update installs, but does not apprearon screen, or task manger yet is running what is going on and how does one fix it?

I installed the update Mozilla Firefox 28. It was suppose to launch upon completion. it did not appear on the monitor screen, nor the task manager, but was running; for when I attempted to install the older version again it, it said that Firefox was running and needed to be turned off.
I restarted the computer and tried opening Firefox, with the same results.
After restarting again, I attempted to reinstall the update, with the same results taking place.
I attempted to uninstall Firefox and install the new version. The same results took place.
In the past, I could install Firefox 27 update, only now I can't for the same thing takes place. Past a certain version (19), this event takes place, but 19 and older can install it with no problems.
I checked Firefox troubleshooting information. All was normal. I checked my firewall. Again, all was normal. Tried Firefox reset. Did not help. Tried with my firewall disabled. Did not solve the problem.
Ran a virus check (deep) no viruses. Checked my computer system. No errors.
I can install updates for my other programs, even install new programs; just not Firefox.
What is going on and how does one fix it.

Thank you for your question. From your description, you tried to install the 28 update from a version 19 installation. Did you install a fresh install of 28 successfully? Where the name of the file is"Firefox Setup Stub 28.exe"? This is what is sound like happened. When going to about Firefox and searching for updates it installs over the current installation. However if Firefox was already running, there are more than one installation.
Updating from version 19 to 28 would not be a problem. However the user data from your previous version would have to be imported to the new installation if you have more than one install on that computer.
An easy way to tell is to search for Firefox in the Start menu to see if more than one icon shows up in the search results.

How am I supposed to use my created iCloud contact group on my iPhone?

I followed the instructions & 'help notes' on creating a contact group by logging into my iCloud account. Now on my iPhone I can see the group when I go to Contacts & click on the upper left hand "Groups" button, but that screen only lists which list of contacts I've got synced with my iCloud. Unless I'm missing something, I do not see how I'm supposed to actually use/implement my new "group." I was hoping to be able to create a new text & type in the name of my group & send, or have an option to choose from a group list to use as my recipients, but instead nothing.
Am I completely missing the point of grouping contacts on the iPhone???

About all you can do is when addressing the email, tap the "+", navigate to your groups, uncheck all groups but the group you want to send the email to and tap Done, then tap each member one at a time to add them to the list of recipients.
Otherwise you can use an app that will allow you to select an entire group at onece (such as Speed Names).

How Does One Modify Photoshop Templates in Dreamweaver

I posted this over on the Photoshop forum, but no one has
replied. It is a hybrid sort of question.
I've been trying to modify the Horizontal Neutral template of
the Web Photo Gallery in Photoshop CS using Dreamweaver MX (v.6.1)
on my G5 running Tiger and am almost there. Aside from the overall
design (fonts and colors) I really like the interface of this
particular gallery with a horizontal slider to quickly scroll
through images, that when selected, appear in large form in the
center of the page. But I need to customize it to get it to match
the feel of my site.
My problem: I'm trying to point to a gif file that is part of
my website image library as my background. I want the Horizontal
Neutral Gallery to float in that image background. But, I can't
seem to get the background image to appear where it is supposed to.
I've gone into the various components of the template
(FrameSet, SubPage, etc.) and by duplicating the files and
modifying the code, I am able to get the background image to appear
within the tables that make up the navigation and image gallery
components. But, I've not been able to get the image to appear as
the background itself.
I'd even be happy to simply have the entire Horizontal
Neutral Gallery float in the middle of one of my own pages with the
image file as a background if it is possible, but can't seem to
even get it to do that. How does one access the code that controls
the background image in this template or the script that generates
these galleries?

The reason the that the edit button ( - ) top righthand corner had 'disappeared', was that iCloud was enabled but that the Addressbook subsetting under iCloud was set to off in the phone settings.
Changing it to 'on' made the edit button reappear.

How does one deal with transparency in a placed file in InDesign?

I suppose this may seem elementary, but I'm relatively new to it so here goes:
First off, my print shop says that placed images should be in EPS format. I'm creating my files in Illustrator and some of them use a gradient mask to fade an object away. When saved as an EPS, the gradient mask shows as a white box instead of fading into the background. When I copy/paste my Illustrator image into a new Photoshop file, save it as a PSD, bring that PSD into Illustrator and save it as an EPS, the whole file is in a white box.
Example. I want those aisle markers to not be in white boxes.

If possible, one finds a new printer who can handle your files properly and doesn't insist on .eps.
What format are you delivering to the Printer? If it's anything other than PDF (and that's at their request) all the more reason to reread the first sentence. Why on earth are you moving things from Illustrator to Photoshop and back to Illustrator? Either one of those will save as .eps (ugh), though you need to use a clipping path for transparent areas coming out of photoshop (don't really know how Illy handles it when you say to save .eps with transparent background), but you are FAR better off with either native .AI or .PSD, both of which support transparencey, unlike .eps.If yo are delivering PDF, as you should be, it makes no difference to the printer what format the placed content uses (and it shouldn't matter to him even with native files unless he's hopelessly stuck in the 90s).
In any event, when importing from Illustrator, make sure to show the import options and check the transparent background box.

How am I supposed to exit Firefox when there is no "x" at the top. I seem to have lost everything at the top. I downloaded the new Firefox and have had nothing but problems since. Right now my problem is that I hit "full page" and didn't know I would lose my exit "x" at the top. Now I can't find ANYWHERE to restore the old one.

Try hitting the F11 key. I had this problem and it fixed it for me. It's a toggle that takes it back and forth, showing and not-showing the toolbars. Gives you more space to read the webpages, which on small screens could be a blessing. Hope this works for you!

GB has two "modes": In "musical time" the units of the timeline are bars and beats, in "real time", they're seconds. You can switch between them by clicking the clock/note symbols near the play button.
"Snap to grid" only works in the musical time mode.
An Apple Loop is always supposed to be an integer number of measures long. So if you're in 4/4 it can be 1, 2, 3 ... measures (which is 4, 8, 12 ... beats) long. Since the concept of loops is to be in rhythm with the beat of your song, this makes sense - so it is assured that the "one" of a drum loop, e.g., always sits on the "one" of a measure.
If your loop is only half a measure long, you can double it to make a full bar. If your loop is not in rhythm at all with a beat - well, then it probably doesn't make sense to turn it into a loop that adjusts to the tempo in the first place. You can still turn it into a "static" kind of loop.
