How is Pages for Korean language?

hi there...
i have MS Office... i like this s/w BUT there is only one problem....
MS sales only one-language-capable per CD /version...
what i mean is that they are not like Apple that support almost all the languages worldwide... i have to buy one MS Office CD for english and another for Korean...
so my question is:
anyone using iWork (specially Pages) for Korean ?
I don't want to spend more $$$ to get a korean version of Office...
but i'd like to know how Page handles .doc documents....
u know, heavy pics, graphs, charts etc....
how are documents seen when saved under Pages and opened in Word and viceversa?
please help me make up my mind to purchase one appropiate piece of s/w for my need...

I don't know if Pages has a GUI in Korean language (I have deleted all the languages I don't need), but there is no Korean spell checking in my version of Pages.
A few of my clients send me Word documents for project informations and Pages opens them fine. But this are mostly text heavy contents with images and simple tables, so I don't know how Pages will open charts. I think that Pages will have problems with older Word document versions, because older ".doc" files can't be opened in newer Word apps in Windows without trouble, too. Of course, there can be the missing font problem for specific fonts your Mac has not installed as well.
That is the only way I use Word documents, but the other direction is most similar, but I haven't tryed it. Wait a bit and other members will give you more detailed experiences about this.

CHARSET for Korean language to open Korean .wft files in workflow.

Hi,
I want to open Korean .wft files in oracle workflow builder.
For that, I had given 'KOREAN_KOREA.KO16KSC5601' (and also 'KO16KSCCS' as charset) as the NLS_LANG value in the window registry but I am getting following error once I logged in to database using workflow builder:
1300: Could not load.
1114: Could not load from database.
1101: Could not load item types from database. FILTER=%
333: Could not set item type properties for 'FPAPJP'.
332: 'SET' validation failed for item type 'FPAPJP'.
306: Invalid display name 'Project Portfolio Analysis '.
203: Value contains leading or trailing spaces.
When I tried with 'KO16DBCS' charset, I am getting following error:
1700: Could not connect with username/password 'apps/apps@cxlv1' ('ORA-01017: ‰•¥“‰„@¤¢…™•”…a—¢¢¦–™„^@“–‡–•@„…•‰…„
though I am using the same username/password and tnsname that I am using to connect english and japanese .wft files.
Please share with me the correct charset for korean language to be able to work with workflow builder.

It didn't work..When I am giving AMERICAN_AMERICA.KO16KSC5601 as value for NLS_LANG, workflow builder is fetching wft only in American English !..
Any other clue!!

How can I choose korean language to convert pdf into word?

I need　to translate the document in Hungle.
To make the speed up,I tried to convert the Pdf document in hungle into word,and realized I can't choose Hungle for OCR.
I wonder why Hungle and Chinese are not seleced as languages for ExprtPdf ,for those countries are imortant for both aspects of economy and culture for Japan.

You may need to use Acrobat to OCR and convert Korean and Chinese documents.

Itunes: How to search for korean (or other countries) movies within foreign film category

Within foreign films category in latest version of itunes, is it possible to search for sub categories, for example Korean or Japanese films? (on either ipad or PC)

For some reason it won't show where the same words occur in other scripts. Alternatively, how do you view scripts by clicking on the score? For example, the startmovie script or setup related scripts at the beginning of the movie, currently, I'm accessing finding what each script does by using the trace function in the message window. But are these scripts or related frame scripts visible from clicking somewhere on the score as well?

XSLT mapping encoding for Korean language

I am using a XSLT mapping to ocnvert input XMl into flat file.Evrything seems to be working fine expect when Korean, Chinese, Vientam, etc characters are coming in the input file.
I think the above mentioned characters are occupying 2 bytes in the flat file due to which the position of the next field got misplaced in the flat file.
I tried with different unciode options in the following XSLT mapping.

How is Pages for you?

Hey everyone, I just bought Iwork for my Mac and I basically got it for the work processing (Pages). Like many people, I work in a MS Word world and I was wondering if Pages is an effective substitute?

Welcome to the forum.
The single greatest attraction of Pages would have to be the excellent templates supplied.
As a workable substitute for MsWord that varies:
1. It is not MsWord
2. It's conversion back and forth from MsWord documents is imperfect
3. You have to Save As or Export to get to .doc format, this is both annoying and causes problems and duplication of files.
4. There are features in Pages that are not in MsWord and vice versa, you will only find out what they are by trial and error.
If you must constantly exchange work with PC MsWord users you would be advised to get *Mac MsWord* or the free OpenOffice. If your needs are simple you could also try Bean (free) which also saves to .doc natively, even TextEdit will do that, but Bean is the better solution.

Getting text to display on screen the Korean Language in Final Cut

We cannot figure out how to get the Korean language to display on screen in Final Cut Pro. We have the Korean language font and can get it to display in Word and Photoshop, but when we copy Korean text and paste it into Final Cut, it doesn't show up. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks...

You must make sure that the font for the text field in FC is set to a Korean font, and you may need to try different ones. Try AppleGothic first. Others are Gungseouche, HeadlineA, PCmyoungjo, Pilgiche, AppleMyungjo. Also try copy/pasting from TextEdit instead of from an MS or Adobe app.

Apple TV 2: Audio Setup for multiple languages

Hi,
I want to create files which contain audio tracks from more than one language. AppleTV 2 should play the AC3 track (2.0 or 5.1).
I tried:
Track 1. DE: AAC Dolby Digital 2.0 160kBit
Track 2. DE: AC3
Track 3. EN: AAC Dolby Digital 2.0 160kBit
Track 4. EN: AC3
But: Apple TV 2 does not allow me to select the 2nd language. In Quicktime et.al. its possible.
Is the ordering of the tracks wrong? Or how can I get it done?
I'm using Handbrake to encode the Movie, but in their forum no one was able to help

The only choices you have in the iPad itself are to change the keyboard or change the user interface language. If that doesn't do what you want, probably best ask the people who make Papers.

For Quiz Slides you've already added to your project file you will need to change the labels manually. If you change your Quiz Settings and Master Slides that control the defaults and then add new Quiz Slides, THEN those slides will carry your new settings.

I used korean encoding char set like this in my jsp program.

All of a sudden I get the message "This version of iTunes has not been correctly localized for this language. Please run the English version".
How do I fix this and run the English version again? .

Start by trying to repair iTunes from the programs and features control panel.
Otherwise, for general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
