How is possible that Apple LOST my Iphone 5?

Hi,
I sent the 4 of december my Iphone 5, who was a gift to apple care when after several probes, in the apple store and also by phone we cant configure it to use correctly. Then the customer service of Apple send me a box to put my iphone there and send it to Apple by Fedex, I followed all the steps that they wrote in the pappers that was inside the box and after went to the Fedex office to send it to repair. After a week without news about my Iphone 5 i call the customer service and they told me that the box arrived empty.... HOW?????????  Is incredible! but for my surprise when i went to the Fedex Office to ask the manager what is happening, he told me that some times it happens!!!!! INCREDIBLE!!!!! Im from Spain, living now in LA, and I never heard about that happen in my contry with this company!
Ok, I made a claim in fedex, and a really good manager of the customer service call me several times to try to help me, but for my surprise another guy who name is Frank Medrano send me several mails asking me for the purchase receipt, I try to explain him that it was a gift and my friend bouht it in internet, them we dont have this receipt..... But I tried to asked him that why when I called to put the Iphone in my name the first day that i had they take all my information, also serial number and EMEI, and also when I called to explain my problem about configuration they never asked me if i had the receipt purchase and only confirm with my the serial number of my phone, and my information to send it to repair?
Now this guy said that they close the claim and I lost my phone is my problem! INCREDIBLE!!!  Is this really a proceed for a company like Apple?
I have the pappers that came inside when appear clearly al the information of my Iphone 5, also I made a picture in Setings About to have with me a copy of my serial number and EMEI, and the most important the receipt that the phone was shipping by Fedex the Dec 4, at 6:04:25 from a Fedex Office in West Hollywood.
Im going now to make a police report and sure I´m going to the final of this case. But is really sad that a prestigiuos company as Apple have this behavior with her customers.
Probably anyone here can help me! But is good that all future customers who have a problem with his Apple products knows that the proceed and behavior that this compay has with hers customers.

Thanks for your answer, I understand that responsability is collateral because the box was sent by Apple, and they choose the company and the procedure. If I was the responsable sure im going to do a insurance package afor example. Why when you made the inssurance this things never happen?
Like a foreign that Im, is incredible that for you consider that this things happen in companies like FedEx... because in my country i never heard about that... But also the Manager of FedEx told me the same, with a really scared naturallity... not was surprised his face was like, OK another time!!! incredible!!! By the way I asked him about the things that you told me and he directed me to the Claim department of FedEx, also in the receipt apear the code of employee who manage the packaged, tracking number, date and office. He told me that they dont have more info for me!! I made a claim also in FedEx....
But my question here is... Why now Apple asked me for the receipt like a unique probe of i sent my iphone, when they could do it before i sent it.... My friend by the phone in internet like a gift for me, and is almost impossible get a receipt of purchase... but when he bought it we call to apple to know if the phone had a problem (like stolen, lost... etc) and they confirm that phone was clean, and they put it on my name with my information, the same day of the purchase.  Also in the apple store in the Beverly Center they check several times my phone to know what was the proble, and they had too my information again... Also when I called to apple care and they request to send it another time they get my information... but know when they dont have my iphone 5... now they ask for a probe of ownership... Sorry but this is not credible... And close a claim for this reason is only a easy proceed to dont explain what, where or who is the THIEFT!!!!

    Your only option is to sell the iPad and then buy the new one.

    Apple does not unlock phones. Only the original cellular provider can authorize unlocking. You will need to contact them.  If it is AT&T, they do not provide unlocking, ever.

    AT&T have not announced any change to their no-unlocking policy. Only AT&T could authorize the phone to be unlocked.
    The fact that Apple now sells (independently of AT&T) unlocked GSM iPhones does not change this.

    Depending upon what country that you are in then you might be able to redownload it directly on your phone via the Purchased tab in the iTunes Store app on it.
    Or connect the phone to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC, enables/disables the sidebar), and then on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen select the Music tab and use that to select and sync the music to your phone.

  • Annoying bug in finder....how is possible that this thing was not noticed?

    I can understand that is not possible to see all the bugs, but this is kinda bothering me, because is not exactly a bug that require a lot of efforts at all....here we go, maybe you know about it so iw ould love to know when it will be fixed.
    format an USB disk as "apple partition map" (not GUID or boot), now copy a lot of stuff on it (20-30-50 Gb, doesn't matter once that you have more than 5 Gb and you are dealing with a lot of files or packages, and you will see that everything goes fine.
    Now copy FROM the USB drive to anywhere else... now start to cry, because you will see messages from finder, saying that an error has occurred and the file is unreadable (-36); then the bar of the copy window stay stuck on the screen and you need to restart finder to make it work again.
    a workaround is to copy small quantity of data...but if you deal, like me, with big data moving and stuff like that you wikll understand that is not possible to loose hours to copy stuff one by one, instead of select the entire folder and wait that it will copy.
    It works from USB to USB (apple partition map), same from computer to USB (apm) but not on the other direction, so can't be the drive, and i've tried with another USB drive formatted with GUID and it works fine in both directions, while when you format it in APM it won't work form USB to computer (or any other device).
    I've updated to the latest 10.5.1, is still doing it.... hoping that 10.5.2 will fix the issue, and please don't tell me to move 2 Tb of data somewhere else because i need to format my disks as GUID and not as APM would be too much to take LOL
    BTW, every computer that is sold after Oct receive free leopard even if it does not came with it.... now i wonder if you do the same with the computer bought in september, since i spent money for a mac pro that came with tiger... would be really nice since you put on it all the latest software (ilife 08 and iwork 08) to have also Leopard, since is a business machine that cost 3k and not a toy like a pc that cost 500 dollars
    I have a picture to show the issue; but i don't see anything here that let me attach pictures (btw the thing is so evident that you don't need one)
    I've upgraded from Tig to Leo; could be possible that this is the problem, but even in this case i would expect that an upgrade, if offered as option, should be able to let the machine to work without flaws like this one...honestly is not acceptable at all, especially from your company.
    And please: add the discussion link on the Leopard page in the support section...it took me 20 minutes to find a way to go in the discussion forum (had no idea if there is one, since is not mentioned on the Leopard support page), and is even harder to find a link to post a bug or to send a message to the dev team about issues like that.

    I was expecting that an Apple representative would be on teh forum monitoring the things and checking what happens here....but seems that is not the case
    BTW i am glad that i was able to test-drive Leopard....now i know that i can stick with Tiger until the issues are resolved
    At the moment the only way that i have to copy files is using the console instead of finder:
    ditto -V -rsrc [source] [destination]
    with this command you can copy entirely the files (works differently from cp and is specific for mac, since is a dev tool from apple included in any MAc OSX); so if you have issue like mine you can use this command in terminal and you will be able to copy stuff that won't copy using finder.
    BTW now i know that there is a direct url at discussions.apple.com; before i was simply going in the specific software/hardware section and clicking on the link "visit the discussions here", while on Leopard page (and also on other pages, like imovie or itunes), there is no link to the discussions, so if you are not so smart you are basically not able to find the discussion forum site
