How is the 2GHz Xeon for gaming?

My friend is trying to tell me "i would think a core 2 quad would be faster ...or a core 2 duo". I want to get a Mac Pro and I do alot of gaming. I'm going to get one with that kick *** ATI card, and the price isn't really bad at all.

Clock for clock, the Xeon's are faster than the Core 2 Duo's... ever so slightly due to an increase in the FSB. However as stated, the ram here isn't designed for the type of tight responsive times gamers tend to favor, on the other hand, I honestly doubt you would see any type of substantial performance hit. Another factor to consider is while the X1900 will play any game currently out there wonderfully, and will continue to do so for some time, your upgradability ends there from a purely OS X side. If you opted to buy a Geforce 8xxx or an ATI r600 when they come out, you CAN run it... in windows ONLY.
Gaming is headed in a multi-core direction... Currently the Steam engine (Powers half life 2 etc) is being rewritten for multicore performance. Newer games are also using multi cores in lieu of physics cards.
Finally, in response to some of your comments, the Mac Pro actually is an extremely competitively priced computer... go configure a Dell Precision with the same components and you'll see my point. Personally, up until 3 months ago, I owned an AMD X2 @ 3GHZ w/ dual 7900GTX video cards in SLI for gaming... Yes, it absolutely outperformed this Mac Pro in benchmarks, but when I actually game, I dont mind running high settings at 60FPS as opposed to my original 90FPS... especially since the image quality on the x1900 is stunning.

Thanks for your inputs . Actually I forgot to mention that the client is not using Storage type in any of the material master data
The problem was because the control cycle was not maintained for the combination of material /Plant & Supply Area

There is an option to pass all the paramters except those who changes from
system to system.
for example,
if you are reading from a file from the directory: <SYS>\CREMAS_<TS>.XML
when <SYS> is DEV or QAS or PROD, and <TS> is time stamp,
you can create channel template that read file with file pattern CREMAS_*.XML,
this can save you a lot of work, however, parameters that are diffrent in every system, (in this case the directory DEV,QAS,PROD) you must enter manually in every system.

I believe you do that through your phone service provider. I wonder if you have unheard messages in your voice mailbox. I think some carriers use that mechanism - diversion to voicemail faster if the recipient has unheard messages.
I do not believe you can change this directly on your iPhone.

What is the best Mac for gaming?

Ok so as the title says, I was wondering what is the best Mac for gaming, I would like to play at least some old games which I have laying around the house when I'm at the airport or whatever. I read that macs are not that good at gaming but they do work at some degree :P
Also I was wondering, me and my friend were arguing why is a Mac not considered a PC. I my arguments where that a PC means it has all that nasty, heavy, big hardware, with all the cards and stuff and that a mac just has the slick monitor with some stuff in it :P and a keyboard/mouse. His arguments were that even if macs only have the stuff mentioned above, it should still be considered a PC since it is afterall a Personal Computer.

Best computer for gaming is always the one with the highest specs. But generally speaking, a base macbook does ok. The major piece you need to increase FPS on a mac is a video card though, so generally the Pros or iMacs will be a better choice.
Your friend is right, PC = Personal Computer. Mac's run the exact same hardware as a PC, just run different OS's. But its a term that got misplaced with windows in the flame wars of every forum post. P.S. Mac pros are a tower with no screen, just like the traditional windows ones.

The Best Mac For Gaming

Hi Everyone. I'm sure this topic has come quite a bit, so I'll try to make as short to the point as I can.
Basically, I have a 2008 black MacBook, and I have recently have gotten into computer gaming. It turns out that my graphic card is horrible for gaming, and I cannot upgrade it.
Of course, I still want to stick with Macs, so I'm thinking about getting an entire new Mac, and I have a few specific questions.
Is it better to get a new Mac, or is there some way to upgrade my current Mac that I do not know about?
If I must get a new one, out of all the Macs, which one is the best for gaming (except the Mac Pro cause that is to expensive)?
Is there speculation of any new Macs coming out in the near future? Basically, should I wait to get a new one?
Currently, I'm thinking about getting the 13' MacBook Pro sometime in the next month or so before the student discount goes out.

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Currently the best Mac with the exception of the Mac Pro is the i7 iMac. It offers the most processing power and most powerful GPU. That would probably be your best bet as your current machine with the exception of maxing out the RAM and installing a different HD is about all you can do. The i7 iMac once configured is also not upgradeable with the exception of the RAM. If you want upgradeability and power the Mac Pro is the only Mac alternative.
BTW per the Terms of Use in these forums we cannot speculate on new Apple products or their decisions on current products. You can find the TofU directly to your right.
While the 13" MBP is a fine machine it's not really considered the best alternative for gaming, if you want a MBP rather than an iMac then your best bet is probably a i5 15" MBP.

I have recently purchased an iMac I5 which I'm delighted with. I realise that it will be anathema to many but my question is could you use it for gaming? I am thinking of downloading Dragon Age Origins but cannot get my mind around how I could operate the keyboard as it is the small Bluetooth one. Has anyone used their's for gaming and how did they get round the keyboard issue?

You can plug any USB keyboard into your Mac. F-keys typically are mapped as they should be. Some extra keys can also be mapped with Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Keyboard -> Full keyboard access. Alt and Windows keys are in reverse locations from an Apple keyboard. Logitech, Kensington, and Microsoft all have Mac versions of their keyboards with the appropriate key mapping. As long as the GPU and processor and RAM meet the qualifications on the game's recommended system requirements on its box, you can run it on your iMac. I've not played the game in question.

What is the best Router for Gaming?

Alright, at the moment I have a "G" wireless router, which I bought it for pure gaming reasons, well I am thinking about upgrading 'cause I am having some lag and poor connections and I want to enhance my connection for online play. I won't lie I am a addicted hardcore gamer, so I need a good router! ^_^

I started shopping for a wired router to handle a claimed higher speed from my cable provider. I want something that runs at full incoming wire speed. I did not think I would care a lot about special gaming features. One of the techs at work uses the GamerLounge which is made by D-Link and he loves it for gaming. It runs a little over $100. It has a number of features to help automate the setup for gaming and to help debug gaming connection problems. I do not know if Linksys makes anything that is specifically targetted at gaming. You might want to read the various hardware reviews and decide which features you think will be important to you. Linksys has product documentation that describes the products but you will have to understand the terms used in the brochures to decide which device might be best for you. I have a Linksys for wireless support and it is rather slow compared to a wired connection because I run encrypted. If you want to run games on wireless, then published benchmark results may be the number one item on your list. Some routers may have much faster wireless performance than others. Cost will probably be a factor but more expensive does not always mean better. I have a WRT54G V5 and Tom's Hardware has a review discussing some of the serious limitations in V5. I stopped using it as a main router and went back to an old 10 Mbps wired router connected to the cable modem to get better performance. The WRT54G V5 sort of works when used as a wireless access point but Windows file and printer sharing do not work. So ... it all depends on which features are most important to you. Absolute best case is to talk with a friend who has a working setup that they like. Then you can decide if their priorities for choosing features match your priorities.

This is determined based on the access sequence specified for the Text ID.
You can go to IMG/logistics execution/Basic shipping functions/Text control/Define access sequences for determining texts.
You may also use t-code VOTXN.
If you are trying to check text being copied to delivery header,then click the radio button for the delivery header and click display. go to the relevant text determination procedure and
Check the access sequence assigned to the Text id not being copied.
The Text object should be VBBK to copy texts from sales order header,VBBP for sales item texts.
You can compare it with your other text ids and their access sequences and make the necessary change to the one that is not being copied.

How is the new Air for watching movies and tv shows?

Looking at a the new Macbook Air. Needs are generally for email, web surfing, lite spreadsheet, word, etc... But, would be nice for travel to watch a few movies or TV shows. Is the Air suitable for watching DVDs (handbrake and loaded on SSD)? How about streaming from iTunes, Netflix, Slingbox? If I need to move up to the MB Pro sure would like to know now. thanks

I find that my new 13" i7 MBA is great for watching even high def movies that I have copied over.
I also have ripped some standard def DVD's, and it works just fine.
My older (2010 11") would have some issues with 1080p (dropped frames and stuttering), bu the new Air plays those fantastically.
I'm a Hulu and an Epix subscriber, and it works flawlessly with those too, as long as my internet connection is sufficient.

It cleans rather well for me but, i never actually touch the screen with my hands/fingers. Just get a microfiber cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner like method window cleaner from target:)
