How is the iPad processing 5.1 AAC

Lately I happened to have a video file which has AC3 audio. I tried to change the container from MKV to MP4 with Subler for iTunes and my iPad but it didn't work with my iPad (syncing failed).
Previously I've always had either AAC stereo only or AC3 Surround + AAC stereo (Dolby Pro Logic II). So I figured that it may have something to do with only having AC3 in my video file.
Next thing I did was converting the audio line of the video file with Handbrake (along with low settings for the video so it doesn't take too long) to AAC. But not Dolby Pro Logic II or normal Stereo but AAC Surround (6 channels). I've never done that before but after merging the new audio with the H.264 video in Subler syncing with my iPad worked without a flaw.
But since the iPad can only play stereo through it's speakers / headphone cable (and I know it can push AC3 through the adapter but I am not using this) I am wondering what the iPad is doing with the center channel + surround channels.
Am I loosing the additional content when I am listening to it with headphones or does the iPad downmix it to stereo?
And one additional question: Did the syncing really fail because the video file had only AC3 in it?
Off-Topic: Thanks to the moderator who accuses me of doing illegal actions which is ridiculous. Someone who plucks something out of the air shouldn't be a moderator in this community.

    Hi
Can anyone explain  how does the GR processing time affect the scheduling of the process order & the latest start date in the operation overview.

    Hi
GR processing time means number of workdays required after receiving the material in storage.

tRFC internals - how does the async processing happen?
    Dear all,
With the document "[https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f078394a-4469-2910-c4bf-853c75674694|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f078394a-4469-2910-c4bf-853c75674694]" there is an excellent place to read about SAP RFCs (remote function calls).
Pages 94 to 96 describe in detail how tFRC (transactional RFC) works.
However, there is still something unclear for me with the following sentence on page 94:
"The truly exciting part happens when the program
issues a COMMIT WORK command. The recorded calls
are executed asynchronously in a special set of tRFC
processing sessions created for each transaction ID..."
Maybe someone can answer the following questions:
    a) what does exactly trigger and execute the tRFC?
    b) is it the ABAP runtime system itself, spawning the additional task in DIA?
    c) if multiple tRFC LUWs have been recorded, they are all executed in parallel by this procedure!?
    d) does the execution try to utilize all available DIA processes?
    e) how do the rdisp/rfc_... parameter come into the game?
are they evaluated? We have seen all DIA occupied by the tRFCs executed!
    Best regards,
    Peter
P.S.: if someone has answers to these ones, more related to error handling, would be great as well
    f) the jobs ARFC*, do they also use parallel processing?
or is every ARFC* job responsible only for one single LUW?
(note https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/366807 did not give a perfect answer)
    g) and how does the report RSARFCEX work compared to immediate execution?

    That's the problem, it won't.

This piece of code looks at the SPDatabase's connection string (the SQL alias, for example) and executes a T-SQL query looking for that name within SQL Server. Since the SQL alias does not exist within the SQL Server's configuration, it will return a null
value, and you won't be able to set up the AG config using the AG cmdlets.
Also, since mobility exists by the very nature of using an AG Listener, using a SQL Alias is redundant.

  • How does the sync process work?

    Hello all,
I want to know what will happen if both the local and network homes have been modified for a period of two weeks and then the user chooses to synch? Will the sync process ask which 'home' is the most recent or will it replace older files with newer files?
How does the sync process manage the task of keeping both sides the same?
    Thanks,
    -Andrew G

If a file exists on both the local and the network directory it will pop up with a conflict and ask how to resolve it.
If the file is only on the local machine and in a place you have not excluded from syncing it just syncs.
If the file has been previously synced but there has been no change to the file since last sync I think it just rewrites the file to the server homedir... (Don't quote me on this one... it might not even bother with it, I'm not sure how smart the sync service is)
You can set automatic conflict resolution within WGM but as far as I know you have to do it by clicking on preferences then switching to the details tab, then click on Home Sync....com.apple.homesync. Click on the Always drop down and click the add new key button then change the new key to either Login or Logout Non-Preference sync conflict resolution and or Background sync conflict resolution and decide if MobileHome or NetworkHome Wins...or copy. In most cases I would think that you would want the MobileHome to Win.. of course there is always potential for someone to make a huge mistake on a file and pray its still fine on the server but... your call.

  • How comes the Ipad mini isn't Retina Display if it has the same resolution as the New iPad?

How comes the Ipad mini isn't Retina Display if it has the same resolution as the New iPad?

The iPad mini doesn't have the same resolution as the "new iPad".
    iPad 3 & 4 (retina) = 2048x1536 pixels
    iPad 1 & 2 (original) = 1024x768
    iPad mini = 1024x768
Apple likely didn't put a retina screen in the iPad mini to keep cost down and to have an option to upgrade the iPad mini to a retina screen down the road, in a year or two.  It could be however that the pixel density of 2048x768 at 9" poses a problem for the viewer, in that text and features might be rendered too small or too thin for the average buyer/consumer.

I currently have a PC with Windows Outlook.  If I add an iPad to the mix, how does the iPad interface with Windows Outlook?

Isn't Outlook simply an email client or a software application on a computer? You can add an email account - whatever email provider that you use - right on the iPad. You can sync your Outlook contacts and calendar if that is what you are asking about, but Outlook itself has nothing to do with the iPad.

  • Anyone know how come the iPad 2 from Apple HK Online Store still unavailable?

Anyone know how come the iPad 2 from Apple HK Online Store still unavailable?
Did Apple offer engrave service purchase from other retail store outside?

As we are just fellow users, I don't think anybody here will know why they are unavailable (except for demand possibly being higher than supply). In terms of Apple engraving I think you can only get that direct from Apple - whether other stores offer their own engraving service I don't know.

  • Determination of how old the iPad is

I just bought an iPad. I was wondering if there was anyway to find the date of the first iTunes Sync? Or how to find how old the iPad is?
I wanted to check if the iPad i have bought has been used before or not? Any other options to find out?

You purchased a used iPad, or a new iPad in the retail packaging that was not opened?
If the latter, it hasn't been used.
If the former, more than likely it has been used and if so, there is no way to determine if the iPad has been used or the date of the first iTunes sync. I believe there is a way to determine when the standard one year warranty expires by entering the iPad's serial number. The warranty begins on the purchase date.

  • How can the Ipad leave recovery mode when something happened.

When the Ipad went to recovery mode and started the recovery and update process to IOS 5.1.1, an error is happened, the code is 21. The Ipad stayed in recovery mode. How can I leave it.

According to the iTunes specific error codes help site ....
    Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 37
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. FollowTroubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

  • How does the iPad provide Random Access Memory?

Is all the RAM on the chip?  Does it use free space as scratch?  The specs only speak about the CPU for computing power.
My wife's medical practice is using iPads for Electronic Health Records, and this is a new system transitioning from paper.  It is a cloud based software called Athena, and I suspect that their problems stem from inadequate memory (RAM or possibly even vRAM). They experience freezes and being "kicked out" of forms while entering information which requires them to reenter the information. This is a big drag on time for her staff.
These problems are less frequent when they use their Windows based laptops, and performance is even better when they use their desktop work stations. I don't know the specs on these computers. However, she experiences no problems when using her Macbook Pro which is a 2007 2.6 core2duo with 4GB of RAM. This is what leads me to the conclusion that it's a memory issue.
I don't know for sure because I'm getting my info second hand, but I think the iPads have the A7 chip.
Thanks for any insight you may have on how this works.

Here's the spec sheet on the iPad Air. It has 1GB RAM.
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/ipad/specs/apple-ipad-air-1st-gen-a1474-wi -fi-only-specs.html
The comparison with a laptop or desktop with 4GB ram is not a fair comparison. All open apps use some of the available RAM. So close the iPad apps that are not being used.

If You Think iOS 7 Feels Slow Here’s How to Speed It Up
    http://osxdaily.com/2013/09/23/ios-7-slow-speed-it-up/
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • How does the login process works with a bind to AD?

    Hi there,
I am trying to bind our mac to our Active Directory. Before doing I'd like to understand well how the login process works. Is there any reference I could look up to?
For what I've understood until now with an example user "testAccount" and no automount and no AD extension and the ADplugin set as:
    a) if mobile is set, then a /Users/testAccount is created and if UNC is set then a smbHome is mounted "on desktop". If UNC is not set, do nothing more
    b) if force is set, then a /Users/testAccount is created and if UNC is set then a smbHome is mounted "on desktop". If UNC is not set, do nothing more
    c) if force is NOT set:
--c1) if UNC is not set and cannot map NFSHomedirectory at all, then login the user with such a temporary home
--c2) if UNC is set mount SMBhome and use it as mounted home folder (NFSHomeDirectory-->SMBhome "/Network/Servers/my.server.com/users/testAccount")
--c3) if UNC is not set then retrieve the homeDirectory-NIS's attribute in AD (NFSHomeDirectory--> "/homes/testAccount") and create /homes/testAccount
my doubt now is point c2) after I login in with a "#mount" I get:
    trigger on /Network/Servers/my.server.com/users (autofs, automounted)
//[email protected]/users on /Network/Servers/my.server.com/users (smbfs, nodev, nosuid, automounted, mounted by testaccount)
but my SMBhome is not correctly mounted on remote server (but the Library folder and MCX files are created!) and I get home errors because the system is looking for "/homes/testAccount", which I don't know where it is coming out from given that a
    #dscl /Active\ Directory/my.server.com -read /Users/testaccount |grep homes gives only out dsAttrTypeNative:unixHomeDirectory: /homes/testAccount
    thanks,
    a.

Is there any reference I could look up to?

  • How is the iPad in B.C. Canada

    Hey all,
I am looking into buying an iPad in a year. I live in B.C. near Vancouver I was wondering How the iPad works in remote parts of Canada like williams Lake area places like that. Information on this would be appreciated .
    Thanks
    Richard

The iPad itself should work fine wherever it is.
I presume you're asking about wireless access. Rogers's coverage map shows coverage in Williams Lake, but how well it actually works there I can't say. I'd suggest you look at the coverage maps for each of the carriers, Bell, Rogers, and Telus, for the areas you're interested in and see whether they offer coverage at all. Things might be very different in a year, though, so if you're not considering buying an iPad for that long, you probably should wait to check into it until sometime next spring.
WiFi will of course work anywhere you can get access to a WiFi base station.
    Regards.

  • How is the iPad mini

I wold like to know how customers like it so id be able to know if i want to go out and get one.

If your a new user to the iPad world then the mini is a good entry. It's a cool device, ESP if you like the size. I'd go into a store or apple store and see if you like it compared to the iPad 2/4.
Anil...did you like the size better of the mini? I'm curious because the mini and iPad 2 are almost the same and the iPad 3 is a bigger difference apart from the mini(5x, retnia etc). I was thinking of that, but I thought it would be a downgrade from at least the 3rd.
