How is the storage type for a component picked automatically in PO staging

Hi
The Process cycle is :
Sales Order created MRP-Planned Order ---Production Order
Problem : Transfer Requirement not created for Picking
Now if I go to Co03--GOTOWM Pick list , For the component the storage type is notr updated automatically
I compared with Materials for a TR was created & found that Storage type 100 was updated automatically
Q:How is the storage type for a component picked automatically in PO staging (WM activated )

Thanks for your inputs . Actually I forgot to mention that the client is not using Storage type in any of the material master data
The problem was because the control cycle was not maintained for the combination of material /Plant & Supply Area

You need to use two tables.
First use VBFA. Enter the sales order number in the field Predecessar and the value M in SubCt field. This will give all the billing document number for the sales order items.
Then use the billing document numbers in table VBRK, where in you can get the billing document type.

Try the table MARD: Storage Location Data for Material, where in the field LABST will give the stock field, against a given material/plant/Storage Loc.

You can find these in transaction WE82.
You can find in WE57, this basis type, which fm is attached (BAPI_IDOC_INPUT1).
Then check out transactions WE41 and WE42.
You can use the table EDIMSG, in SE16 to list all the msg types making use of the same IDoc.
or
If you want to get all the message types, you can use WE81.
If you want to see which message types are attched to a particular Idoc type, use WE82
check it in BD60 and WE57..

System follows some search criterial to determine the requirement type
1. First, an attempt is made to find a requirements type using the strategy group in the material master.
2. If the strategy group has not been maintained, the system will determine it using the MRP group.
3. If the MRP group has not been defined, the system uses the material type instead of the MRP group when accessing the corresponding control tables.
4. If no requirements type is found here, the system assumes a special rule and attempts to find a requirements type with the aid of the item category and the MRP type.
5. If this is not possible, a last attempt is made to find a requirements type with the item category only.
6. If the last attempt fails, the system declares the transaction as not relevant for the availability check or transfer of requirements.

Hi,
You can change valuation class, or you can set valuation category for your material master. If valuation category is set you can extend your material master and in this way creating records for different valuation types.
Please try to set the desired changes in your mmr (MM02) > save > SAP will give you error message > push 'Display error' button and you will see what conditions must be eliminated to carry out the change.
- you are not allowed to have open transactional data
- no stock in the current and previous period (using proper posting date in MB1A + 201 you can reduce your stock level to 0, and after that you can set it back by MB1A + 202)
- in case of valuation category setting batch archiving may be necessary

MLGT - How to find the Storage Type

Hello,
I have been trying to use MLGT to find the storage type but I have discovered this table does not have all the records. For example - I know that material AAAAAA using Wharehouse number BBB should show CCC for Storage type but when I look in MLGT I see that AAAAAA does not have a record that uses wharehouse number BBB. When I look in MM03 I see that the material has CCC for the storage type.
Does anyone know why this table would not have all the records? Is there a better table to get the storage type?

I am not able to catch what you try to achieve.
MLGN-LTKZE is just an indicator. if it has the name of a storage type, then either by design or just by chance.
SAP takes this indicator to lookup the placement strategy. (setup in trx OMLY).
There you can see all possible storage types.
A storage type view at a material master is almost only needed if you use fixed bin strategy. then you can specify the fixed bin per storage type in a material.

Use LT01 & create Tansfer order (TO), Input material ,plant,storage location.
Provide the required inputs like Source & destination storage type,storage section & Bin numbers.

There is an option to pass all the paramters except those who changes from
system to system.
for example,
if you are reading from a file from the directory: <SYS>\CREMAS_<TS>.XML
when <SYS> is DEV or QAS or PROD, and <TS> is time stamp,
you can create channel template that read file with file pattern CREMAS_*.XML,
this can save you a lot of work, however, parameters that are diffrent in every system, (in this case the directory DEV,QAS,PROD) you must enter manually in every system.

How can you get the storage type of an XMLType through OCI? An XMLType column can be created as BINARY, CLOB, or OBJECT RELATIONAL type, is there any way to get this information through OCI? SQLPlus seems to know how to detect these types with the DESCRIBE command, is it possible to get this information programmatically?

Here's one possible (simplified) way to determine this (assumes all handles allocated, etc):
- get a describe handle for table via OCIDescribeAny
- get parameter handle via OCIAttrGet on the describe handle
- get number of columns in table via OCIAttrGet on the parameter handle
- get column list handle via OCIAttrGet on the parameter handle
- loop for the number of columns
- use OCIAttrGet to get the column data type
- use OCIAttrGet to get if the column is a specific storage type
Here's what the part to determine if the columns is a specific storage type would look like:
** determine if storage type is binary for this xmltype column
rc = OCIAttrGet((void *) p_col,
                OCI_DTYPE_PARAM,
                (void *) &colstorage,
                (ub4 *) 0,
                (ub4) OCI_ATTR_XMLTYPE_BINARY_XML,

OCI_ATTR_XMLTYPE_BINARY_XML is from oci.h (as well as OCI_ATTR_XMLTYPE_STORED_OBJ)
